@driffter9126 did my ow research and found out that the sprint site offers the update now with the proper file DO NOT USE THE ONE HE SUGGESTS. it doesn't work with the new updater. Just dl the one from the moment update site and run it. He wants you to use a custom version that the updater will not accept, unless you use the CL-14 update program.

Do not extract the files into the binary, just take the .tar file and put it in there.

For everyone saying that they don't have the Samsung Electronics folder. Look in Programs Files (x86). That's where I found mine (I use Windows 7). No worries!

Installed this and so far so good My reception seems to have gotten better. I don't like the fact that now you have to click on message and start typing the first few letters of the contact before it shows up. Previously you could click the contact and click text mobile. Also to assign personalized ring tones you now have to press the option button instead of edit. am I impressed with 2.1...not yet but we'll see.

@ericleejr10 Many people have asked and emailed me the same question. Just copy the 2.1 link that I sent you and paste it into the address bar of your browser. It will open the file from there and ask you where you want to save the file...

@XXavierXX0693 All I can say is do this at your own risk! I personally don't think anyone will brick their phone using this method. This is a part of rooting your phone.. . And you can always downgrade back to 1.5

Probablly not - but I don't think you will brick your phone. The new phones are a bit harder to mess up. And yes, you can re-use the Sprint/Samsung updater again with the old file that you pulled out of the binary folder, or just redownload it if you threw it away.

Thanks rodaniell! I can now lock the screen. I had to download a 3rd part app to link face book, but that's working. It sounds like I need to root the phone with a recovery mode to add live wallpapers and the nexus app drawer?

Also, there is an easy mod to enable streaming audio like Pandora and slacker radio.

The instructions were great. It took my 2 tries and I got it flashed. Complaints;

You can't manually lock your screen, you have to wait for it to time out before putting the phone in your pocket.

Facebook isn't linking with my contacts.

I don't see any live wallpapers.

I heard the apps drawer was supposed to function differently and it isn't.

Maybe it's me, maybe it's this release? I don't know. I tried looking for SDX developers version and I can't get any of the links to work. Any Help?

@Scott11699 Hey Scott - This is the SDX developer version. Reboot the phone and try everything again - also - there is a new keyboard light feature, you may have to set it back to 6 seconds... It'll time out - just hit the power button too.
