Try holding "a" when messing with a part thats how it works after the patch. It's just part of one of the every growing expansions. They bring out new patches occasionally so you need to check back once and a while.

I think your hacks day's are numbered. Patch 5.1 introduced Asymmetry. You just have to press A to make parts asymmetric.

i made a creature that has one horn on its right side and not its left and didnt use a hack at all.

The only problem i have with this game is that you cant name the individual tribal members.

I really wonder why you have to hack to make it assymetric(or use a glitch), because there are actually a good amount of animals in the world that are assymetric.

I too was disappointed when I first tried to make a crab in the CC and could not make one (without hacks). My guess is that it will be an expansion pack option for them. btw, this guy also has a hacked right leg, its much bigger then what is possible in the game :)

I am going to make a webpage with all the tools and instructions as to how to hack your own creatures soon. For the most part I have been waiting for the game to come out since I am sure that varations of these hacks will work for all the stages of Spore.
