I'm most likely voting for Obama because he is way better than McCaine which is not much of a choice but in my opinion Ron Paul would of been the best for president his views are the best but he is not going to win.

I live in Illnois and Senator Obama is my Congressman. I like him, but I like Hillary better. It is my belief that she will make a better President. I think Senator Obama will be a great VP and John McCain will be a fantastic Senator from Arizona.

Why? Reasons why I am voting for Obama: 1. Opposed the Iraq war from the beginning demonstrating leadership, courage, and good judgment 2. Presents a new kind of politics that doesn't accept money from lobbyists, focuses on the issues instead of small distractions, and rejects the do/say anything politics (Hillary about Bosnia and pandering about with the suspension of the gas tax) 3. Is an inspiring intelligent person who will make a great leader of the free world.

1. When Senator Obama opposed the war he was in the Illinois Senate. He represented the people of Chicago. He was NOT a U.S. Senator. Hillary was the Senator from New York. New York lost a couple thousand people on 9/11. We here in Illinois lost zero. I can see why you think that Hillary made a bad decision, but remember who she is representing. I don't believe he would have made the same decision if he were a U.S. Senator from New York. Sorry, I don't believe that. My personal opinion.

2. I do agree that he does focus on issues instead of distractions. Why? because he has better judgement or he just hasn't been in Washington long enough. Again, I agree that on issues like the "gas tax holiday" Hillary is pandering to the Reagan Democrats. BUT! Look who wins Ohio and Penn. HILLARY! It's like negative campaigning, Barack can say he isn't that kind of person, but unfortunately... it works. Blame Hillary if you wish, but tell that to Carl Rove, I am sure he will listen to Barack.

1. There was no connection between 9/11 and the Iraq war. It not only me that thinks that she made a bad decision--she herself said that she regrets voting for authorizing the war (see the debate footage). It was a distraction and Senator Obama had the courage and foresight to see that there was no exit strategy and that there was not enough evidence. He did not do the politically convenient thing and make a huge costly mistake.

I am not argueing that it was a bad choice. What I am arguing is that if Senator Obama had been from N.Y. he would have fallen victim to the same pressure Hillary did. Again, it is one thing to be a nobody in the Illinois congress, give a speech on the southside of Chicago (with many of Rev Wrights supporters there too. Remember the GD America comment.) I dont see it as being "brave" to say that it was a mistake in front of that crowd. In fact, one could call it pandering to that group.

What do you base that claim on? The fact is that Hillary did give into that pressure--do you really want someone like that leading our country and the free world. We need principled leadership and courage and Obama has shown that time and time again. Show me one flip-flop of Obama--I can show you plenty of McCain and Hillary. Well, don't call me a racists here because I agreed with a lot of what Rev. Wright said about backlash from our involvment in the middle east. But, his tone and the AIDS thing is not something that just happened. I would imagine this is Rev. Wrights usual schtick.

At first Barack supported him. Then when Rev. Wright made a fool of himself Barack says, "who is this guy, that is not the guy I know" Really? You believe that? I am not saying the Hillary hasn't done worse. But he is not DIFFERENT

Also, remember that she voted for "military force" to be used. No one ever imagined that Bush would be stupid enough to invade the country and then lie about there not being an insurgency. There are many ways to use military force. Why Bush chose to do what he did who knows. If someone with a brain would have been in control of the military, things could be much different. Saddam might actually have changed his ways. Who would have thought that Bush would be such a fool?

Or should you pass ethics reform laws and campaign financing laws, which Senator Obama helped sponsor and bring into law. America is tired of the crap and the same old political game and is one of the major reasons Obama is going to be the nominee. Just because the Republicans and Karl Rove are doing it doesn't mean that Democrats have to follow or respond. The reactiveness of the Democrats is one of the reasons why they have not got a lot done since they have taken over Congress.

Agreed. But, please DON'T be surprised when those independent voters vote for McCain because Carl and boys swiftboat and Monica him into losing.

I will vote for Sen. Obama in Nov., I would rather have him than McCain to be sure. But, I unfortunately don't believe that he is any different than any other politician. If you can't convince me how will you get those Reagan Democrats who want to be pandered to and listen to Fox News. I am not the person you need to convince. Ohio, Penn, Florida.

Once they get to know Obama I believe they will be persuaded. I think one of the biggest reasons why he has not done as well is because people do not know who he is and what he is all about. A study among Virginia independents found that 1/4 of them thought he was a Muslim and 1/3 of them thought Rev. Wright's views corresponded to his own. Once people start to listen, see him debating against McCain, and get to know him I believe that he will be responded to well. Dems already are on the rise.
