@44vick1 yes you do ,because the software that comes with EasyCap ( ULEAD ) is what you have to run it thru to record ,but i have Nero and it works in NERO

Hi, Just bought an easy cap DC60+ and hooked it up to my old box tv and it works fine, but now after I have bought a new flat screen HD tv it will not pick up a signal from the xbox and I can't even see the picture on my computer. I am using 2 R,Y,W RCA cable with 3 y spliters as per usual. Just need someones help if they know how to fix it or what I could do. Also I have checked that the tv is in standard def not hd also. If anyone could help that would be amazing.

@MrBaNaNaZ100 It could be either your easycap is over heating, wrong setup or the device maybe broken. If you feel like the device is really hot when you use it, then pop the shell out so it can cool down a bit more. Go through your setup or the device on the recording program, make sure the sound settings are right according to your setup. If nothing works, try returning it, it may be broken

@Reaperss yeah i know you can if you have a double sided av cord to plug into the tv and EasyCap then you just plug your ps3 into you tv like you said.

@Lutriik or you can get an HDMI cable pack (Official cable of xbox) which comes with a AV Plugin which allows you to use a HDMI and AV at the same time

@theirishkillcamz alright so basically for cables you can use ur xbox component cable (if you have an xbox), but for the ps3 it's the same). We recommend using s-video insted of the yellow video cable because it does have a better quality. Now for splitters you only need it if you want to play on your tv and xbox, bassicaly you plug the splitter into the xbox and then connect the other two parts to your tv and easycap. also beware because there are some fake ones out there which only record in black and white. Also to record we used the software it comes with. Good luck

but there is a way around it. Basically you need to buy an av cable splitter and another pair of simple av cable male or female depending on the splitter. Have the easy cap go through the splitter, then one side connect it to your tv and the other to your xbox.

I know i don't explain very well, I'll make a video about that very soon.

@poopman173 try playing around with the different tv system choices. If none work out then im sorry to say but i think your easy cap might be fake.

@poopman173 Yeah you probably bought a fake one. Fake ones usually are less than 10 bucks and games like mw2 require pal 60 to record in color
