  • This was really helpful. Can you do a video on how to carefully take out braids?

  • Thank you! I subscribed to both channels! My braids are synthetic. I bought African Pride Braid Sheen Spray for moisture, itchy scalp etc. I also dipped the ends in the boiling water/baby oil mixture. It seems to help keep the end of the braids straight.

  • @Hairoholic951 Im glad it helped.

  • and i have no idea what to do to sleep. everyone is saying get a silk sleep cap or a silk scarf or some pantyhose!! If I put a scarf around the front of my head and tie it under the braids at the base of my neck what do i do with the rest of it?? The length of my braids are to my middle back...I had to save for this and I want them to last and look good as long as they can!

  • Thank you so much for this video! I am a mixed mutt guy with hair leaning more to caucasian consistency. I just had synthetic braids put in yesterday. I dipped them in boiling water and baby oil and they look amazing, but I need to know what to do to stop the braids from unraveling?!!? Can I glue the ends with super glue? I don't even care if they are stiff like the end of a shoe lace, i just don't want them to unravel! HELP PLEASE!!

  • @Hairoholic951 it depends on what type of hair u used but if u used human hair u can spritz the ends!

  • @Hairoholic951 @Hairoholic951 Hey sorry for the late response. if you find that your braids are unraveling it would probably b best 2 super glue the very ends, just make sure its way past where youe hair ends. For the other question usually i just put my hair in a bun when going to bed and my satin scarf is big enough to cover my entire head with the bun. what you can do it get a satin scarf to cover your head and then a bonnet to cover the ends of your braids. I hope this helps.

  • This is my first time trying to put braids in all by myself. I am too familiar with it, so what brand would you recommend.

  • @Mellesia1 what brand of hair do I use? If that is your question for synthetic hair braids I use black n golds silky hair and for human hair braids I use indian hair that i purchased from indianhairs(.) com but you can buy indian hair locally (or at least there are places where I live that sale it...) goodluck and let me know if you were referring to something else in your question! :)

  • @jazzybee445

Thank you. This is so helpful! All the best in your future endeavors for 2012!

  • You are the best!! So very helpful!!

  • @OurLadyLourdes LOL :-) Thanks love!

  • I know I watched this when it was uploaded but now it's time to take notes!!

  • @OurLadyLourdes LOL! good luck with your braids dear! I cant wait to see how they turn out!

  • i just got my hair done and the ends are really bushy what should i do? and how can i prevent this with synthetic hair?

  • @Super4175 You can dip your braids in hot water if you would like to add a nice shine as well put some oil into the hot water... these should last for a week or so and every time that you feel the ends are turning bushy just do the process over and re dip them. You can go to the chapter page of this video and click on maintence where I briefly show you how to do it. or check out my synthetic hair video for a deeper tutorial :-)

  • You can use grease to easily slide out the build up and void further breakage. I also use conditioner prior to washing my hair ( I let it sit for 30 minutes to 1.5 hours) and just use my fingers to massage (break up and remove) any other built up hair or dirt rather than using a comb while my hair is dry.

  • @ApplenToast Thanks for these helpful tips!! :)

  • I am definitely taking notes!

  • @Drea885 :-) lol Thanks for watching! and taking notes ;)

  • Absolutely GREAT VIDEO!

  • Your hair style in this video is GORGEOUS!!! :)

  • @momolicious21 Thank you! :-)

  • Your hair is so cute, what hair did you use for this style??

  • @Aprillove411 I used indian hair. I got it off of a site called indianhairs(dot)com. i actually bought it a while ago and I have been using the same hair over and over again. I have a video on how I reuse the hair. Lol i spent like 250 for a pound of bulk indian hair and so im going to use this hair until there is no more left (to make sure I get my moneys worth.. lol) I also have a video of how i put them in as well in case you are interested in doing them yourself. thanks for the comment! :-)

  • I'm so glad I ran across your video!! I have braids in now! Had them for about a week and they are itching me like crazy! I can't stand it! Lol even when I putt oil in it, it still itches! Maybe I have product build up! I will cleanse it! This video was helpful

  • @beautysham Thank you! Im so glad this video was helpful for you!!

  • Great vid..keep doing ur thing=]

  • @Ladiiluvlii4k Thank you!:-)

  • This was very very helpful because I have had problems with my itching scalp and buildup! I'm so glad I found this video! Thank you very much!

  • @NEZZYBREZZY09 thank you for watching! I am glad it was helpful for you! :-)

  • I loved you video!!

But can you please tell me how long it took to do the braids you have in your hair in this video? They are so cute! I've seen your vid on how to do them, but i just want to know how long it took to do them. Thanks!!

  • @dawn2daylightmadness Hey! Thank you! :-) The braids I have in my hair in this video took me about 2 and 1/2 days to complete ( with breaks and all)

  • Do you recommend rinsing braids in black tea to prevent breakage?

  • @mesweet2u Hey! :-) I have actually never heard of using black tea to prevent breakage... If you dont mind me asking what have you heard about using black tea rinses for breakage? It sounds interesting.... What I do know, is that keep your braids moisturized def. helps reduce breakage when you are taking your braids out, because your hair wont be as dry and brittle as it could be had you not moisturized your braids.

  • Hello ! I have read that black tea contributes to hair growth. the caffeine stimulates the hair follicles as well as block DHT (hormone resposible for hair loss and male pattern baldness). it also slows down the rate of hair falling as well as reduces shedding. I am typing this word for word from Antonina Geer. I have heard youtubers video promoting black tea rinse as a leave in. I decided to search the web and found information from Antonia Geer. I was just wondering what was your thoughts

  • Love the vid layout!!! with the chapters and everything, very impressive!!

  • @starr2o Awww! Thank you! :-)

  • did i tell you you are the queen of editing? excellent video! i have always admired your braids. castor oil on your edges uh? great tip.

  • @honestlyerica hmmm lol NOPE never told me that one lol. I'm glad you think so dear! I'm very flattered! :-) BUT YEA castor oil is supposed to help grow back and thicken edges. I have been using it and I honestly should take pictures so I can see if it has been working.

  • Comprehensive and informative, nice job!

  • @pookinapp16 thanks love! :-)

  • Awesome video! I never used to take care of my braids n scalp..now with this advice i know what to do..

  • @Shassytricia I'm so happy this was helpful for you! :-) side note lol I never used to care for my braids either I never realized I had to but in this past year I have learned so much about my hair and keeping it healthy...I think its east for us to forget our hair when we have it braided up... or at least it used to be easy for me to forget.. but I'm.glad I know better now. :-)

  • Awesome video! But sadly i happen to have a sad face, too..as i can not wear braids for now because i lose hair every time i wear it naturally straight or in braids. now i have to wear locs :( lol

  • @IceInMySnowCone Aww :-( why do you lose hair... if you don't mind me asking? I really hope all is well... and dread are awesome anyways! :-)

  • @jazzybee445 I don't mind...I don't really know why that is. :( I know that around my age in older the people in my family start having hair loss issues...so that's one of the reasons. Otherwise, couldn't think of anything else, i haven't ever dyed my hair that much, i don't braid my hair too tightly- i guess it just doesn't wanna not be that way. XD So I'm blessed to just be able to do this particular style of hair. D:

  • great job jb!

  • @areturn2love thank you! :-)

  • Thank you for sharing! see now I wanna braid my hair....

  • @dontcopyme lol girl I think braids are the best so i'd just encourage you lol. :-) :-p

  • Do the castor oil make your scalp itch? i've just heard that before. neat video

  • @77deerose nope, not that I have noticed. Thank you for watching! :-)

  • thanks you for this video.... i have my hair in braids now and have only been washing 1-2 a month.I also have not been moisturizing everyday like I did the first month :(

  • @MissMMMakeup aw dont put a sad face :-(.. lol im going to be honest! SOMETIMES I get really lazy with my hair when it is in braids (after all thats one of the reason I like to put them in) So the tips in this video r for an ideal situation. I try to follow through with everything but sometimes I do slack off. Now as far as moisture, that is kinda really important its easier when you just use water and oil tho. and its really easy to not wash your hair with braids-- so i mostly do it as needed.

  • I won't be having braids again but I watched because I love ya!! This vid was awesome!!

  • @OurLadyLourdes Aww! I love you as well missy! Your beyond awesome ;-) Thanks for watching! I appreciate this comment!

  • Great Video... very helpful & resourceful.... Keep up the good work. I wish I could braid like you though(I can do it for others but it never turn out right when I try to do my own)

  • @ladyen7 Thank you! :-) You should keep working at it! At first I could braid really good on others hair, and braids that i used to do on my own hair looked as if they really needed work lol... (although at the time i was proud of them nontheless lol) but I have been braiding my hair since I was 14-- I would still have a braider do them most of the time back then because my skills werent all that great. But I notice the more I do it the better they get and the faster I am at it :-)

  • @jazzybee445 Thank you for the incouragement girl... I will continue... I will give it another try this weekend for the second time... lol... Praying for better results & patient from start to finish :)

  • @ladyen7 yay!! I'm so happy to hear that you will try again! :-) that's awesome! Soo I know its the weekend now.. how did it go? I pray you have better results as well! Because it is waaaay better just doing ur own braids, I think. And when u get tired just stop lol cause I know when I start to lose my patience when braiding my hair you can tell lol case they get noticeably bigger lol.

  • Great Video Sis! Very informative and well organized! I love the whole chapter idea and the go back button :)

  • @pinkflower350 Thanks little sis! :-)

  • wow i am in awe of how well you organized all this information. *bows in your presence* hahaha

  • @spicyeve LOL haha. Thanks girl!! :-) That means alot! lol *bows back just because* lol

  • Very informative video! Thank you. How long have you had your braids?

  • @shareckia thank you! :-) The braids that I have in right now, I have had them in for almost a month. It will be a month August 9th.

  • Oh, I have a question too..you said you use your moisturizing spray daily on your scalp. I just looked at the video and it seems like most of the ingredients used in it contains antibacterial properties such as the rosemary oil, coconut and tea-tree. Do you find that you can wash less while using that spray?

  • @6footlonghair You know what until you pointed that out I NEVER made the connection lol. (sad to say) But I do suppose that logically it would make since that one would wash their hair less because of the ingredients of the spray. I can say that with the braids that I have in my hair now I havent washed yet and I've had them in for almost a month. I've been using my spray everyday and I havent had any problems as far as my scalp being really dirty . so perhaps thats why? good question tho! :-)

  • You take really good care of your hair... period. This video was very informative and well put together thanks for doing this

  • @missthis897 AWW! Your welcome! Im glad that you found it to be helpful! :-)
