nice truck seems to have been retrofitted at one time with the bed though. With the two spot lights I would think it used to be a fire or emergency vehicle of some sort.I have seen a few of them around and at least one or two for sale. This is the next best thing to one of those tilt bed tow trucks.
That is just cool. Just picked up a 95 c3500 today. searched craigslist for about 300 miles in every direction (search tempest rocks) looking for something like this. gave up, will just keep using a trailer.
@BikerTrashWolf Because it is an R30(which I hadn't heard about until buying this) I have to have commercial insurance. But it's not to bad and really think it is worth it. The truck really is an investment. Shouldn't go down in price. Now registration killed me. For tax, title and registration it was $570 due to its 18,500 GVW.
@TheStickman The R30 was what the called the 2wd 1 tons sold from 1987-1991 the 4wds were called V30s.
now that was only for the ones that still had the old body style cabs (all 1987 models, and the 88-91 crew cabs) just to differentiate them from the C3500 series trucks that were the newer rounded style trucks.
If they are charging you for comercial insurance it must be because of the ramp body, my 1987 R30 had regular insurance.

Nope always a ramptruck. The owner was a car hauler by trade and made sure the truck was outfitted well.
