Amazing music, amazing flow, story, only thing that made this movie a fairy tail was expected end. Through it's cruelty shows us what was happening during the war. If it was only about war it would be boring (let's face it, we've seen thousands war movies) but, imagination + war = qq.. Really a masterpiece.

This movie reminds me of The Fall. Not particularly the style, though they were both beautiful movies. But I loved the fact that they took the cruel and solemn events of life and portrayed them with the surreal mindset and perspective of a child.

Yep. Very sad movie this one is. Del Toro showed that there is no fairytale ending in the real life. That we cannot imagine our world to be better and we never try to do it better, only kill each other=( The girl was able to see that. But the cruel reality just killed her.

I am also dissapointed that Del Toro quit the Hobbit project. He was an ideal candidate. The only one better is PJ=)

Great movie but I always wondered why the title is "Pan's Labyrinth." The original Spanish title is "El Laberinto Del Fauno" which in English is "The Faun's Labyrinth."

I watched the movie and never remember a character Pan.

I was just curious about why they chose that Title for the English release.

@maurioxia No. I don't think the movie tries to say "Fairytales are worthless", that would be a very cynic theme for all the magic that is involved in the movie. I felt a lot of people forgot that all the events, even if they were just fairytrales, actually did matter the "real" world. I am sure Ofelia is still alive, in all of the things she was part of. The only kind of immortality human kind can archive.
