  • Had this on cask a while back and it kinda blew my mind. I've had all kinds of IPAs, including this out of a bottle, but having it on cask just took it to another level for me. Maybe the best draft beer I've ever had, honestly. I'm generally a fan of Port's various IPAs, though.

  • @paternzen Yeah this beer was a homerun for them and I can only imagine how good it was on cask!

  • I got this in my fridge right now, looking forward to it. but I'm kinda worried cuz it's a few months old though, tried looking for the freshest bottle, but they all had were the same bottle date : /

  • @GrotesqueKevin Its def not going to be as hoppy as it once was. The good news is that this is a year round offering from them so just keep an eye out for fresh bottles.

  • About to try one right now. I'm pumped.

  • I had this beer at an Irish Pub in Reading PA called Ugly Oyster. I asked the women behind the bar for a taste and as soon as I smelled it I was sold. I had three pints of this beautiful brew. Up until now Lagunitas IPA was my all time favorite but this beer is a respectable challenger.

  • Beautiful beer, Drinking my first one while watching your review. Your spot on. Grade A for the beer and the reviewer. Cheers Brewer!

  • @Nightescape36 Thanks man I really appreciate that! This was a fantastic beer and im glad its year round!

  • Dammit, this blows.. Sounds freaking amazing and Port doesn't distribute to my state. Maybe I can pick up a bottle when I'm in Chicago if there's any left. Worth it do ya think?

  • @capitalistraven Yeah its definitely worth checking out!

  • What's your overall opinion of Port/Lost Abbey after this one and after trying that Hop 15 that didn't impress you? Even being on the West Coast, I'm hesitant to buy anything from either label because of their carbonation problems and price points. Both Old Viscosity and Older disappointed me and I won't be buying either again. I'm really on the fence with this group.

  • @podunkparte No I love Hop 15 the one that didnt impress me was their Wet Hop ale I forget what it was called. Im a fan of both Port and Lost Abbey. LA makes one of my fav stouts of all time. THey are expensive though but I feel the quality in their product is there with the exception of the carbonation issues which have since been corrected.

  • Story on the bottle!

  • Loved the beer. Mongo is going to be a new year around beer and Hop 15 will be seasonal due to the amount of hops to brew it. Also there is a cool story of how this beer got its name.

  • @jsparkstwo Yeah I love Hop 15 as well im sorry to see it go but I can only imagine how tough that beer is to brew with 10 different hop varietals! And the story is a great story of how this beer got its name I didnt want to read from the bottle in the vid though, but it is a fitting tribute to a lost staff member ;)

  • @Random2605 Thanks man I appreciate it! Cheers

  • Where in Philly are you going to be?

  • @bigmike11676 We are going to Eulogy and Monks Sat night

  • nice

  • @difflock77 THanks! Cheers

  • What's weird is that my review I did was off. Maybe from the beers I was drinking earlier that day but I enjoyed this one more when I cracked my other bottle of it. I need to pick more it. This one translated really well from draft to bottle.

  • Great review, brotha! Loved this beer when we had it at the "Coming to ATL" party, cheers man.

  • Good Review i felt the same way. This is my favorite Port Brewing beer. I enjoyed it a lot better then hop 15. I was blown away by everything about this beer. I actually can not find it anywhere around me and i live in so cal. Sold out everywhere. I gave it an A as well. Really great beer.

  • @truthisrare777 Actually up until I had this one Hop 15 was also my fav Port beer. From what I understand they will no longer be bottling Hop 1 and instead replaced it with this one. I hope it becomes a year round offering. Just great stuff.

  • @BeerGeekNation wow no more hop 15? that is a trip. Like you said it was my fav beer from Port before this one. I hope it is year round and i hope the sell out everywhere is just because its a new bottle release. I have been craving this stuff daily since i tried it.

  • Just found your reviews and I gotta tell you that these vids are the best! You have single handedly increased my beer budget two fold! Thanks!

  • Great stuff man!

  • How do you know which beers to try next? I find if I go to Total Wine without a gameplan, I come back with a bunch of guesses & most of them are just B minuses. So do you just go by the buzz on BeerAdvocate to see what to try next?

  • @FLefty18 Honestly I have a bunch of beers sitting on my desk and in the cellar and I just go by what beer style im in the mood for. Although this one being a fresh IIPA from the West Coast I wanted to make sure to review fast so it was still super fresh. Big thanks to Stumpyjoejr for getting this one to me!

  • @BeerGeekNation Cool, thanks for the response.

  • Nice, I had this one on draft it was really good!

  • @Tantrum777 Same here.

  • @Tantrum777 Im going to be having it on draft next weekend in Philly! Cant wait
