I love just how bored one can get during a blackout. I've been through a couple of them in my short time of living, most of them caused by hurricanes, and normally if I know a couple days beforehand that a hurricane/very very BAD storm is coming,I'll charge up my DS,replace the batteries in my portable DVD player and hope the whole thing blows through XD
Usually at home I would (inconveniently) not have friends over when a blackout just happens, but at least once every high school year it would happen, and the power would be out long enough that we could get out of school. Never 'cause of a storm or anything, though, which made those predicaments much less interesting if at home
The power at our store went out and then came back on several times. Unfortunately the rest of the blocks power went out, so everyone else decided to come to my store. YAY! And they all had to say "Wow! You sure are lucky your power didn't go out"...oh yeah so lucky that know I have twice the influx of drunks as usual. Yay San Antonio! Our most popular past time and spectator sport...DRINKING!
Wow, so there was a storm happened there. That really reminds me of our season today. Its actually going to get rainy in our country starting this June so constant raining is already happening now and possibly storm (x_x)
Remember when a Jedi light saber clashes it flashes cause I sure as hell forgot that. Really makes you want to keep everything in the house that's breakable out of the way so on the next blackout there could be an amazing battle.
The same storm hit us the day before yesterday, didn't loose power. Only internet, phone and cable for a good part of the following day . Not bad considering , The house a few blocks away from me literally exploded due to lightning hitting a gas tank. :P
Ah, we had a Super-Lightning Storm Warning and Tornado Warning sometime after you guys had yours, but we didn't get anything other than little showers.
Although you doing this reminded me of when I was recording me, the Techy, and The Jock who were trapped in a room with no air conditioning for a couple of hours because the door was stuck (and old wooden door) and windows were small and dropped to dangerous areas below. (metal ladders, rocks, garbage cans)
You just reminded me that I have a light saber made by the guys who did the quality ones before they were signed on by Hasburo. SRSLY, IT IS WORTH MONIES AND IS HAND MADE AND is actually kinda weird to look at lol.
Good 'ol storms, it's great living in the Midwest isn't it? I've yet to have the power go out this year, but seeing as how I don't think I have a flashlight handy, I'd pretty much be in the same boat as you guys if my lights went out. All I'll have to do is prey that my PSP and DS have a good charge on them if I go through a similar situation, since those would have to both entertain and be a flashlight.
Hey you'e gotta do, what you've gotta do when the power's out.
And, I feel your pain... my first earthquake was in Hawaii, like two weeks after my newborn twins were sent home. Ah the joys of waking up on too little sleep to the house shaking, finding out the power is now out and you need to sterilize bottles before feedings with no gas heating appliances, and nary a camping stove. Ah memories...
What? No one started breathing like Darth Vader? You're surrounded by darkness and light sabers! You three really are the worst nerds ever :P Hope everything's better now down there.

thanks for taping all this. very amusing to see yous 3 reactions to a blackout.
which is, run around outside, have epic lightsaber battles, then play pokemon.
thats great, couldn't think of a better way to spend a blackout. usually i just light a candle or two. then twiddle my thumbs for a few hours.

There's something to be said about a long plastic rod that vibrates and Walmart actually selling it as a lightsaber...

I must really be in the minority. In our area we did get heavy rain, lighting, and high winds, but our power stayed on.
