I already have my mechanical engineering degree, so now I have to figure out how to get connected with the racing field. My dream job before I retire in this field - design a Le Mans prototype for haha Le Mans and race it, be involved with a team that will race there - that would be quite an accomplishment testing wits.

@XRGiceman Since it is 2011, The R8 is still the most successful Audi. The R8 is one of the most successful cars in sports car racing. It ranks right up there with the Porsche 962 and Ferrari 333SP. The R10 and R15 was not nearly as successful as the R8. Most of that is because of the Peugeot 908!
truly the greatest racing car ever in my eyes. it was so successful, every motor sport magazine i opened, this car won like every enduro. bravo audi, hope the R10 can pull a hattrick.

2008 will for a long time great year in sportscar racing: now we have Audi vs. Peugeot in LMS series. And 3 vs 3 in Le Mans! Can't wait.
I saw one race with the r8 and it crashed at the begining then was 52 laps down then got back on the lead lap and was right behind 1st place and turn off his light for about 5 secs. and went around leader turn them back on and scared the former leader!!!
Audi's huge wallet and complete domination has destroyed any and all competitiveness in P1. It would be best for both series if Audi would take the R10's to LMS to race Puegeot and Pescarolo and leave ALMS to the Acura/Porsche P2 battle.
Audi won the ALMS already 2004, 2005 and 2006! So it's obvious, that they try to win also in 2007 in the ALMS (!!!) not in LMS. They do ALMS because the races are in America (which is a big market for Audi)
It was Peugeot who were afraid to compete with Audi, not otherwise around (and the 2007 24h of Le Mans showed why).
So stop complaining if you don't know the backgrounds.

The R10 may one day become more succesful then the R8, but the R8 will always be what put Audi on the map in sports car racing.

i agree completely, audi have shyd away from the LMS and the only real competition they had if you discount zytek and pescarolo in 2005
