I'm just another old fart who remember the 70's....and I have to say that this kind of music, which was pretty typical of the day, is faaaar more interesting than most anything that can be gathered together on all the popular "who's the next megastar" shows nowadays. The expectation that people can play instruments this way is long gone.

I think it's safe to say that it is much less so now, generally speaking. Actually his 1st generation synth is ANALOG, not computer generated.

Every techno geek and electronic musician should get down on their knees and pray/worship to what was done with ANALOG synths back in the day: Edgar Winter, Stevie Wonder, Early Kraftwerk analog synth (later stuff wasnt analog) and NUMMEROUS OTHER pioneers, in the days before you were even born or saw your first casio keyboard. So in perspective, yes, techno is shitty in comparison to this

I think there's also some good song from other genres, at least metal. If you're into heavy stuff, I'd say Mastodon, Opeth and Arch-Enemy are very good bands.
