It's contravertial whether it hit a mine, or was hit by a torpedo. They doubt it being a mine, because no anchor has ever been found to support that theory, however, they also have difficulty believing it was a torpedo, because they had ships checking for U-Boat activity all over the place, so it is rather difficult to say. I must admit...

Are you being serious? Computers and cellphones have NOT always been around.

The first thing that's close to a computer as we recognize them today was made in the 1970's. Before that, there were many computers that filled up entire rooms. The electromechanical machines of the 1930's or the first programmable machines of the 1940's. Regardless, any computer that could have potentially existed in 1916 would not have been on the britannic. There's a lot of history, too much to post here.
