I think she's realised she's becoming irrelevant because suddenly she "admitted" that she "loves metal bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath". I think she's trying to gain a fanbase in the metal community, which is sadly happening thanks to Ol Drake of Evile's Lady Gaga metal covers. I'm not having a go at Ol Drake, he's done nothing wrong, it's just there's a large amount of Evile fans that suck up to him and have suddenly "admitted their love for Lady Gaga". Absolute bollocks.

If i had "researched" more, i would've only had more firepower for the rant, considering the religious controversies that were fueled because of the album, as well as her bold imagery. her time is up for now. its pop music, and its cyclical. someone else will beckon the spotlight and will receive it.

Before you assume I'm a Lady Gaga fan let me tell you I listen to punk and metal and haven't heard any Gaga other than what plays in the grocery store. That said performers like Lady Gaga are necessary. Madonna supported LGBT people and Gaga is doing the same. I appreciate that she uses her privilege to "freak out the norms" and open the mind of the general public. That said, I kind of wanted to just respond to this with 'nice story bro'. Get back to metal reviews.

I usually hate all the music that comes out of the mainstream mtv shit. But i have to admit addles album 21 is excellent, it's a really good album and i don't regret buying it. This is what I'm seeing: The Fame was pretty much just a typical generic pop album, not much different from other meaningless pop music coming out at the time. Then at some point she realized that she needed some kind of gimmick to separate her from other pop stars. So the music gradually got more "WTF-ey" & it came to a head w/ Born This Way. It's all an act, and I hope people realize that soon.

I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga at all. My sister is a huge fan but I can totally understand why she is. Even though Gaga doesn't fit my musically taste I think here lyrics are pretty well written (in most of the songs). Most people choose to ignore theme because it's covered with crappy mainstream generic pop samples but if you really listen to the lyrics, you'll get her subtle messages. Messages like anti-religion or freedom of life.
