  • Cool cool! I took some lessons too it kinda look alike but it's called Rockabilly Jive... we dont have exam or whatever...we do it just for fun.. there's the Montreal Good Rockin' Nights with bands every last thursday of each months... theres a lot of dancers here in montreal... I'd say.. maybe 200 dancers when everyone is there... look for it.. rockabilly jive

  • This is ballroom stuff , very clever, but NOT Rock n Roll

    As a 50's rocker I hate it

  • @RonShiel not trying to be rude, but it is rock n roll...i do practically the same routine for my ISTD exams and the exam is in 'rock n roll'

  • i love it :)

  • same i'm starting classes next week. and i dont think a lad will be able to do that to me! :L your both really good x

  • COOL!

  • This dancing is corny!! If you want to learn easy and cool swing, check

out a dance called modern jive (no not ballroom jive).

    dance yourself dizzy (dot) com

  • LOLL thats not rocknroll dancing, but oh well

  • Awesome stuff! I looked this up because I wanna get into this dancing. How long have you trained to be THIS damn good??

  • about 25 hours total.

20 weeks, 1 hour and 15 minutes each week.

It's not all that hard actually!

  • theire good with moves but i think their upper body and arms are too stiff (arms should be swinging to the rhythm) and they should bend their knees more so they bounce, not jump.

but i really like it, really.

and its just my opinion anyway

  • yeah it's bill haley !!! i love that song!!!

  • Hehe that was awesome woo I do rock n roll dance lessons every week and we do similar moves to what youre doing yaaay :L

  • you´re good dancers. ^^

and you have fun, thats the main thing.

  • shame on you that you don't know that :)

Bill Haley - Rock Around The Clock

  • nice! really helpful

    get lost now.

  • hahahahahaha

    ez odabasz

  • I sure wish I learned to dance like that before I got warts

  • I like it, they have a great time

  • i love it

  • i do this. im on my istd pre-bronze medal. my dance is quite similar, but a bit more complicated.

  • you dance together ;)

The girl needs to preform more flips and stuff, yes

  • GREAT!! But the girl dances more then the guy??

  • Nice, veeery niece:D

  • Nice!

    where was that?

  • In a place called Alkmaar, Holland. The dance school is called "verbiest".

  • You guys did very well considering the time frame you had to learn. :) I agree with the others, everything looks stiff (I hate the arms, imo!) but it also depends on how you were taught. If you did that well in that short of time, you'll do fantastic if you keep taking lessons and working on it! Definitely social dance though - you'll learn more social dancing than a million studio lessons will teach you.

  • Conoscete qualche sito o libro in cui vengono spiegati alcuni passi base del rock'n'roll??

    Grazie

  • BELLISSIMI!!

  • You dance like a bird NAB - a Big Bird - lol - not bad at all m8 - lol

  • EPIC! ;)

  • Awesome dancing! Looking forward to your next videos

  • I'm just wondering about that backflip shouldn't the arm go across the shoulder and onto the hip? That's the way my teacher showed it to us, it also seems easier/more save to do it that way.

  • whats name this song pleace !!!

  • I think it's called

Rock around the Clock - Bill Haley & The Comets

  • thank you !! so much

  • Rock Around The Clock

  • Rock around the Clock - Bill Haley & The Comets. you gay lord

  • nieźle:D a jak rock and rolla wlasnie tanczyc sie ucze:P;) [I learn rock and roll]

  • Sorry, but I think it's stupid to complain about a title of a video. Most people will search for Rock'n'Roll an not for Acrobatic ballroom jiving, which sounds like a chemical substance.

Maybe you want to correct every mistake in every comment on YouTube ?

I think Rock'n'Roll is right too, because all people, who only wanted to have fun by dancing this Dance, call it Rock'n'Roll, too.

And you with your 52 years should know, that nobody is perfect.

    Greets from Germany

  • <3!

  • Actually, I think it's good to call things by their correct title. Ballroom influenced dances are a whole other bag in respect to how the dance is danced and looks - the two shouldn't be confused. You wouldn't call a "timber wolf" a "basset hound", would you?

  • I understand that "Rock N Roll" as a title, like "Swing" might encompass many variations, but its best to be specific when we can to help others avoid confusion. Otherwise when they sign up for "swing" lessons, expecting to learn ECS and instead find WCS, it can be frustrating. It's also good on a historical level to accurately label our dances so that later generations can understand what we danced & how we danced. Dancing ballroom dances is different from dancing street dances. Justa thought.

  • Looks very great.

We also have Rock'n'Roll at our school and your video encouraged me a lot.

An I don't care how the dance is called. I call it Rock'n'Roll, too.

    Thanks for the video.

    Greetings from Germany

  • Thanks! and good luck on your own Rock 'n Roll! :)

  • Then you are wrong as well.

  • it is, and now /shoo if you don't like it.

IF it was boogie woogie, i named it boogie woogie

If it was jitterbug, i named it jutterbug.

This is Rock 'n Roll, so i named it Rock 'n roll. I Don't care if the official name is "Arcobatic Rock 'n Roll", becuase if it is, it's still Rock 'n Roll.

  • Essa porra é tosca...

    O q são aquelas mãos...

    A contagem pra dançar...

    Parece dois palitos de dente...

    Aliás...dois palitos de dentes dançam mto...mas mto...mas MTO...MELHOR...

    PREGO...

    Academia é msm uma bosta...

Transforma coisa boa nesse LIXO !!!

    This is NOT...ROCK AND ROLL!!!

    GROTESCO VÍDEO !

  • This is NOT rock'n roll!

  • This is not rock n roll dancing.

It is 'Acrobatic RnR' dancing - Totally different to RNR dancing (ie boogie woogie, jitterbug, east coast swing etc).

  • it IS rock n roll.. see how you said 'rock n roll' when you said what it was..? (acrobatic ROCK N ROLL).. thus it's rock 'n roll.. now /shoo

  • It is Acrobatic ballroom jiving

  • what is this song's name??? :S

  • rock around the clock.. read the other comments

  • ...

those are 2 totally different dances..

    ...

  • Please tell me its Ceroc, or le Roc, but do not tell me it is Rock and Roll. I have been dancing for 30 years and have not seen anything like it.

  • i feel it quite plastic...;/

  • Omg I love it :o

  • that was cool!!!!!!

  • Great stuff! Nice footwork! Looking forward to the next video as you advance and refine your movements!

  • Well you certaintly rocked around the clock. I'll be using the same backwards flip thingy (dunno how to call it) in my P.E. performance. :D

  • hehehe :D!

    Yeah, and That is ROCK&ROLL!!

  • Nice!

Just I don't quite know if you hab learnd the kicks like that?!

    Hope you have fun!

  • haha thats awesome! i used to dance like that but then i stopped. now after seeing your vid i wana start again! and im going to! :D

    How'd your exam go?

  • We both had an 8.5 (on a 1-10 scale, 10 is VERY good, 1 is extremely bad) for both technique and show :)

not bad for the 1st time.. ;)

  • congratulations! Personally I thought it was awesome! :D

  • Rock n roll is the stuff!! keep it up , you'll get there !

  • Nice video- Nice dancing

    We love it !

    Nashville Line Dancers Aalen

    The Number One Showdancers

  • Hi! Nice acros and stuff. This rock is quite different from the style we do here though. The kicks are low and to my eye it looks like you do the only half way and dont actually put your leg straight when you kick? Yet it is recognizable as a variation of the same basic step that we do... Where are you from and do you have a name for this style of rock'n'roll? :)

  • hi, please how is name this song? Thanks

  • rock around the clock

  • It's called "Rock Around the Clock" by Bill Haley and his comets. It was the number one song in 1955.

  • looks like great fun. i'd love to dance like that too ;)

  • was sin das denn für kicks *kopfschüttel* schlecht echt schlecht+

  • so whats this style of rock and roll called, do you know?

  • sorry but it looks terrible..

I´m now 12, and i start rock´n´roll, i was 8. and with nine yeahs We was better than you

  • Well, congratualations being better then someone who's only 4 years behind. We just started.

    Retard.

  • hay you guys are great, your version is completly differnt than from here in new zealand your basic step is weried

  • hey, thanks :)

hm, the basic steps shouldn't look that different from yours.. they're the basic steps afterall ;) maybe you guys kick higher like the professionals do?

  • hay we dont even kick at all. we tap the (females) right foot twice, left foot twice and back step but it looks awesume fast. check out the river city tripes video thats how i dance

  • indeed it looks strange :P totally different, it looks slower in a way.

Check out any 'acrobatic Rock 'n Roll' movie, I think that's where we're heading eventually ;)

They got the same basic steps, just kick a hell of alot higher :o and throw the lady alot higher :P

  • yea me and my bf have been doing jumps 4 3years now sso yea i no wat u mean with "where ur heading"

  • i know that the rock and roll in australia is actually internationally called "aussie rock" and the basic is an overhead turn and a push turn. the lady taps her right foot on 1. so its tap, step, tap, step, step step. (r, r, l, l, r, l) and this is all while turning 270 degrees clockwise. the guy does the same except opposite feet, and only turning 90 degrees anti-clockwise! is that how they do it in new zealand as well?

  • yea thats how we do it in nz,theres 2 ways, 1 is left right, left right back step or tapright x2,tap left x2 and 1 back step

  • Not bad, like your style. Just a tip, try to be more loose. You were abit stiff and you need to use your whole body. But it was nice to see your moves and kicks were in time with each other. Keep it up. :)

  • I think you did great!! My Mom was a teen in the 1950's so, she taught me all of the dances. lol...The ONLY thing that you can improve on, the guy needs to loosen up just a tad bit, you look a little stiff. Name of the song is Rock Around the Clock. perfomed by Bill Haley and THE Comments. Keep practing, you guys look great!!!

  • thanks alot :)

you might not believe it, but i'm one of the most 'losened up' guys of my age while dancing, that I know of ;) also, they first teach you the technique, before they even consider changing the looks of the dance at our danceschool. So that migth explain it aswell :)

and you got to remind we were nerveus like hell, first time doing the dance in front of an audience ;)

anyway, we're planning to keep taking lessons.

  • LOL I can imagine the nerves, yes, they will take a toll!! Glad you will continue taking lessons..I had fun while I was learning. Will/Do they let you dress in character??

  • yeah, we're having alot of fun learning it aswell :)

and, yes they let you go in character, though you got to buy it all yourself. And that's the hard part ;) not alot of "rock 'n roll" clothes available in the present stores (at least not here in Holland).

Also taking lessons for Ballroom and latin(got silver, going for gold), and you got to dress up in a monkey suit aswell for that ;) jeans arn't even allowed(except for other dances like Rock 'n roll).

  • Congrats!! on the Silver, and sure you will get Gold.

  • OK, for the rock and roll outfits, easier then you think, YOU wear a white t-shirt, roll up the sleeves, tight jeans, roll those up at the bottom as well, wear chuck taylors. (from what I can tell in the Vid, looks like that is what you are wearing..final touch, grease your hair back, and keep comb in back pocket...

  • ...Girlfriend wears scarf around neck, hair in ponytail, tight sweater, and if you can find, a poodle skirt (they can be found at thrift stores or make) she also needs saddle shoes..(you know, those black and white one?) Presto! back in the 1950's!

  • I love rock & roll dance :-D

  • Parece chamamé...

  • Bad, bad...una mierda...Shit raw

  • Even though I know your just trolling:

Keep in mind we only had about 17 lessons befor this movie.. and not even private lessons or whatever

@Kaleithegreat: thanks :) like above, we only had about 17lessons.. ;)

@Mloes405: thanks alot :) and yes we passed the exam, we both got a 8.5 mark on a 1-10 scale.. not that bad I guess :P

  • looks great!! but i think you need to loosen up a little mate...

  • what's the name of the song ?

  • vinthante, the name of the song is Rock Around The Clock performed by Bill Haley & His Comets. It's a really famous song. If you like this, you should watch the movie Rock Around The Clock.

Nice video/dance, I like it. Did you pass the exam?
