  • rocksmith > RB3 pro

  • Thanks for the review man! My old RB1 guitar just busted and I was considering getting this.

  • @LattWest Thanks! You should also check out my review on Rocksmith for a comparison. watch?v=-5B5FtVbJnM

  • Just get rocksmith you can connect any guitar to the game

  • If you were to switch the game mode to lefty, would that come to you as if you were actually looking at a tab book while your playing right handed? So your playing right handed but the game mode is on lefty so it comes at u high e on the left to low e on the right.

  • can wee learn something with this ! i mean its works like a reel one or not tnx for reading this

  • @raitosanruku The squier is a real guitar. You can play it like normal. And yes I do think you can learn something from the game.

  • @roseofjerichoband

great, tnx just one last question how coast that guitare with the game ?

  • so its a real guitar playing on a computer, seems pretty stupid to me, i will stick to my custom teles that dont play on consoles thanks

  • It's nice and all, but I prefer the real guitar.

  • Can't i just plug my ordinary electric guitar in to play rockband 3?

  • @2DMARIO5000 No, the game only works with the Rock Band 3 Squier.

  • @roseofjerichoband I heard you could use several electric guitars. You have to buy an adapter thingy?

  • LOL

    easier to play tab :L

  • I like my 5 buttons... but i do want to try this out. how much are the guitars?

  • @artgeek12583 the guitar was $280 when it was new at Best Buy. I'm not sure if you can still get it there. Ebay might be your best choice.

  • @roseofjerichoband

Thanks. Looks like when I finally start working I'll be able to afford one... Expensive :/

  • @roseofjerichoband I wanted to know if you can actually plug this guitar into an amp? Like a real one?

  • @YourFearIsReal Yes, this guitar is a real guitar. You can play it like normal.

  • whats up with the name jerocho like lots of bands have that? just make sno sense to me good review by the way

  • noosa traduz?

  • am i the only one that fully understood the pro guitar in an instant.... wait i play real guitar.. oh yeah...

  • can this work for beatles rockband?

  • @southster6319 No, the squier only works with Rock Band 3

  • Is there any Metal in this game?

  • @REXMANSAUCE Between the Rock Band store and the Rock Band Network I would say about 1/3 of the RB catalog is metal.

  • BUT will it blend?

  • u grab the pick fucken weird

  • @TehWolfBite lol u dont play guitar i can tell right away or u have one but u blow dick

  • @bulmer69JR who the fuck grabs the pick with their middle finger?? your such a random

  • @TehWolfBite ahhaha dude your a fucking idoit its for strumming faster and with more strength and control your a fucking idoit and im a random who the fuck are u lol your a fucking random no one knows u

  • UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...

  • The problem is the midi triggering is slightly off sometimes but mainly because the track scrolls down rather than left to right.

  • Will I be able to use this midi controller into my audio interface and be able to plug it into pro tools and record stuff? If so fucking awesome

  • @R2J3M Yes, though I have never tried it. As far as I know the guitar functions as any other midi instrument.

  • SHIT THIS GUY IS EP!C

  • its a really cool and fun idea but i think its for extremely extravagant and irrelevant.

  • @yangadoshi irrelevant? based on what?

  • my string snapped -_- ...

  • at 10:55 it's not a C chord, it's a Csus2 chord

  • Wow, this game sucks.

I got Rocksmith. It's so much easier to play on. Not to mention, the songs on it are really cool. Rocksmith even has some Indy bands that no one has (probably) never heard of.

  • @SwaffyX Rocksmith sounds deck. A few questions, though: is it better to play the game while drunk on Pabst Blue Ribbon? Also, does Rocksmith have some songs from the Birthday Massacre, Angelspit, or Beneath the Sky? Lastly, is there a version released for Mac OS X that can link with GarageBand? Thanks in advance!

  • Holy shit! Where the hell have I been? I saw the titles to all these rockband 3/rocksmith comparison videos and was like "WTF?", but it all makes sense now. I still want them both though for different reasons. I've been playing guitar for almost 10 years but I still suck ass, so maybe Rocksmith will help me improve enough so that I can eventually rip shit up on expert with Rock Band 3. I doubt it, but the trying is the fun part though.

  • your fingering is not exactly perfect. lol that's what she said

  • Damn, i know how to play real guitar but this looks harder, kind of ironic. Anyway does anyone know if the squier pro controller reads bends ?

  • @sangc93 No, it doesn't read bends because the strings are muted when you play. So bending doesn't really do anything.

  • @roseofjerichoband I wanted to know if the strings made noise while you played. Cause I want to hear the song in it's entirety.

  • @leon102 You have two options. If you want the best score then you have to play with the strings muted. If you don't care about the score then you can play the strings like normal.

  • @roseofjerichoband Actually, I just want to hear the song in it's fullness, with no sound distractions.

  • lol at 12:00 the singer is a girl with a guys voice...fail

  • lol at 7:40 it looks like the neck pickup is moving ^_^

  • @Guitar42697 It is not a pickup - its a felt string mute. and yes, it moves.

  • Well, I just got a real Squier and I'm sooooo happy

  • Can u play real guitar with it?

  • @MrLegoLeader Yes, it is a real guitar.

  • 8:01 thats wat she said

  • Great Video! Each word's understandable (I'm german). Available in a good resolution and he showes his playing as well as the fretboard in rockband! Very well done.. I think I'll buy that game :P

  • Comment removed

  • does n e 1 no where i can find a spare entire rock band 3 set i need to play this

  • it's too bad that this guitar is no longer available anymore

  • @mouse2482 what do you mean NOT AVAILABLE!?!?!?!!you mean its not up for sale anymore!?does this goes worldwide or just your country??

  • @doodlebuggyjump15 I mean Squier is no longer making the guitar anymore

  • @very0bad0ducky I learnt my very first chord in two hours! However, my fingers hurt so I had to stop.

  • @99snappleguy Yep! The midi cable comes with the guitar :D :D

  • It was the worst thing I bought...o well, what ever, now it's shit compared to rocksmith, which I have, and is fantastic, cause you can play with your guitar...so my Dean, Dime, Stealth, snake skin...but no Rock Smith won't let you down

  • Can anyone please tell me where I can get one of these in Toronto / Markham Ontario?

  • It's easier to get the song right at the studio than with this game????? Ok, I think they overdid it then... have you heard of rocksmith?

  • Route the bridge out and install a floyd rose :)

  • @99snappleguy My midi adapter just arrived. It says on the back: Midi cable not included (Cable midi non inclus)

  • Where can I buy this in the UK??? Please someone help me!

  • @Callumownsxbox360 Wish I could help, but I really have no idea. sorry

  • @Callumownsxbox360 It costs probably around the same as getting money from You've Been Framed!

  • @99snappleguy Thank you so much!! XD

  • @99snappleguy Is the cable from the guitar to the midi adapter included or do I have to buy it separately? I cant wait till it gets here!! XD

  • Hi friend! My RB 3 guitar arrives next week. Can you please tell me if the cord which goes from the guitar to the midi adapter is included or will I have to buy it separately?

  • @Tiwaking Sorry, but I can't honestly remember if the midi chord comes with the guitar or not. In any case you can pick up a midi cable from any music store or on amazon

  • Can you play left Handed?

  • @bo5061 Yes, there is a lefty flip mode but the guitar is right handed, so you'll have to play it upside down or re-string it.

  • @roseofjerichoband @bo5061 Which, by the way, would be very awesome, considering Jimi Hendrix used to play a re-stringed right handed guitar aswell.

  • Thanks, man. Now that review was really helpful. Have you tried Rocksmith? Would be cool if you'd make a review about that one and compare it with this Rock Band thing.

  • @burnsnewman I've thought about it, but i really don't want to pay full price for rocksmith. one thing that bother's me about rocksmith is aside from being able to play your own guitar, rocksmith does not introduce anything new that Harmonix didn't already think of 2 years ago.

  • hau hau mono

  • I recently started playing the guitar would you recommend me buying this... Could this perhaps improve on my guitar technics and skills?

  • @ChrisLeeNo1 Yes i do think it could improve your technique, but whether its helpful to you is really up to you. if RB helps you stick with playing guitar then I definitely think its worth it.

  • Do u know if they made a left handed version of the guitar?

  • @essendon073 There is no lefty version of the guitar, but I do know that some people have re-strung the guitar as a lefty and it does work.

  • Do you know if they will ever produce more of these? I'm basically wondering if I don't purchase really soon, will it be really hard to find in a few months? I might have to just go out on a limb and blow all my money now.

  • @instantdeath99 I really have no idea. My best guess would be it is unlikely that they are going to make more. But don't spend your money just on my opinion!

  • @roseofjerichoband Oh trust me, I've been looking into getting one of these things since they were announced. Your review just confirmed that they are extremely cool. Just want to be able to get one before it's too late.

  • can u play that guitar with a real amp?

  • @victor222444 Yes, it is a real guitar.

  • does it means that i have to learnd to play real guitar to play it

  • @ghostBCH no, you can still use the plastic 5 button guitars to play the game.

  • @roseofjerichoband so u can hook it up to a real amp and put distortion pedals and everything?

  • @roseofjerichoband Thank god for that. I only play the game casually for fun. Without the intent of learning real instruments. I just like to listen and play along to my favorite songs.

  • so this game is like playing real guitar?

  • @antonis9292 yes, the squier is a real guitar.

  • nope its 400$

  • I play the guitar and dang this is looks tuff

  • Hey anyone know where you can buy this in the uk?

  • @Carsonlad98 unfortunately i do not.

  • Will my squier strateacaster work on rock band 3. cause Im not getting rock band 3 unless i know it works or not. because Im not getting a controller unless i have to.

  • @EasyExpertVillage No, the only guitar that will is the Rock Band 3 squier guitar controller.

  • well in the games defense this is the first time a controler like this has been made for any music game so you cant expect that every thing will be bang on the first time around im expecting the Rock Band 4 Pro guitar to solve some of the problems of the Rock Band 3 Pro Guitar or maybe solve some of these problems in rock band 3

  • Woow i should start playing rock band instead of guitar hero :P

  • Hey! my names jericho!

  • i have had the squier for two weeks now. today, when playing, i noticed that my E sting was very sensitiive while my e string was not (especially with upstrums), so i tried to change the e and E strings height. now my B and e string don't register ANYTHING at all... they're just... dead. i've tried to change the height to where it was before the disaster but nothing happens, the two thicker strings are absolutely DEAD. i'm spainish, i bought it via ebay so no guarantee... any help? thanks...

  • @xarpolla Unfortunately i don't have much experience with modding the guitar. Do a search for docsrockbandmods and post on the forums with your problem. There are a lot of people there that know more about the guitar than I do.

  • great review

  • Ok if it's like a real guitar kinda thing how do we activate Overdrive/Star Power (For u Guitar Hero ppl)

  • @DoubleS0312 same way... lift it up vertically...

  • @DoubleS0312 You have a couple options, you can tilt the guitar like the regular controller or you can press a button on the midi adapter.

  • Will you be doing this for when RockSmith comes out?

  • @maniac923 if they gave me a copy of the game i would definitely do it. but its highly unlikely i will pay full price for rocksmith

  • @roseofjerichoband how much will rocksmith cost?

  • @truesteban090 i have no idea. i assume it will be around $60.

  • @truesteban090 If I remember correctly, it costs either $70 or $80 because of the cable you need for the guitar.

  • @JuhnaNemiko thanks

  • I have a real guitar, Is there a cord I can buy or something to use it with rockband?

  • @starfan28 unfortunately not. there is a lot of additional electronics in the squier that make it work with rock band 3

  • @roseofjerichoband Yeah, I kinda figured that. After posting that message I kinda realized that.

  • @starfan28 if u have one with MIDI u can

look for the rockband midi controller... :)

  • @gamber22 I just want my foot pedal to stop hitting itself. :( I switched to drums lol I only play guitar when I'm tierd. and #1 in the world in like 3-4 songs i think. so proud of myself. lmfao

  • Nice explanation, mate. Can I palm mute and play it with tremolo?

  • @ransisua Hey thanks! When you play the game, the strings are muted so palm muting really doesn't have the same effect as playing normally. and there is no tremolo bar on the sqiuer.

  • @sethlocknload or we can spend hundreds of dollars on a real/fake guitar and do that instead. the interactive aspect of the Pro Mode guitar is amazing. I have a real guitar and it's not as fun because having a backing track in your head only goes so far. and this tells you if you hit the notes correctly. it doesn't supplement a teacher, but it is an amazing practice aid, IMO.

  • I'm curious about songs that are played in non-standard tuning (Drop-D, etc.). How does Rock Band handle this? Is the tablature messed up in game? Are you expected to retune the guitar between each song? Do these songs just not exist/are not supported in Rock Band?

  • @TheCurtor Since the strings are muted when you play the game you don't need to worry about tuning the guitar. The tabs are charted correctly based on the alternate tunings so you play a drop-d song just like you would on real guitar.

  • wait so you can't play the rock band 3 pro guitar controller as a real guitar?

  • @BCONN96 yes you can play it as a realy guitar - it is a real guitar.

  • @BCONN96 theres that guitar which can be put in a real amp and play which is around 200+ dollars then theres a mustang controller which is like playing real guitar but its not a real real guitar 150 dollars

  • How does the gameplay compare to actual playing the guitar? Is it all the same? Different? Difficult in it's own right? If you learn one of the songs on real guitar, could you play it on this without looking at the TV? Also, where could I buy one of these?

  • @Uberado Its similar and different. the game has its own feel compared to real guitar. in some ways its harder in other ways its easier. In general most of the songs that I play I only look at the TV for reference, not for reading the individual notes. I'm not sure where you can buy the guitar now as it has been discontinued.

  • ok so this is my question....you can use ur real keyboard, and ur real electric drums that you already own if u have the midi adapter for rockband...but can you use ur real guitar?? cuz i dnt wanna go out and buy a 150 dollar guitar and come to find out i can use mine that i already have.

  • @theorangejelousy No - you need the squier rb3 controller to work with the game. there is a lot of extra electronics in the fretboard of the squier that make it work with the game.

  • @roseofjerichoband yeh i kinda figured that :/ and where the hell can i buy the adapter at and the guitar? cuz i cant find it anywhere

  • @theorangejelousy the Squier Pro guitar has been discontinued, you can still find it on eBay and other such places though. the Mustang Midi button controller is still readily available.

  • @yehaaa6 dude you fucking kidding me? :/ i gotta get that shit and fast!! lol i been wanting to play real guitar on guitar hero and/or rockband sence it came out lol why was it discountinued? to many flawls i guess?

  • @theorangejelousy my guess is that Fender needed to clear up their machines to make other guitars, and this is a very niche item with low sales. I don't think it's because there's too many flaws.

  • @yehaaa6 well that sucks, i thought it was awesome and couldnt wait to get one...guess i gotta gt it else where lol

  • @theorangejelousy yeah, Im not sure where you can get the guitar - as others mentioned its been discontinued. I bought the guitar at besy buy dot com and the midi adapter at amazon

  • So, i can finger tap, palm mute, sweep pick, do harmonics, bend strings and anything else i can do on a real guitar

  • @Mikethekiller7 yes and no - it doesnt feel the same as a real guitar. the strings are muted so its not like your going to be able to pick this guitar up and play it exactly like your normal guitar. This is really intended for simpler techniques.

  • Are you able to play in drop D in Rock Band??

  • lol i just looked at the gay gig wow that's sad air string drums xD

  • can i play it on dropped D?

  • @xXx3Xavier3Xxx Yes, it is a real guitar and you can tune it like a real guitar.

  • is hard to find this in Europe

the only solution for me is in port from the USA

  • @groeneschaap You can order a Squier from UK Amazon. They currently have stock.

  • @very0bad0ducky I would recommend this for someone learning the guitar and overall the price is good. It is expensive for a video game controller but in terms of guitars it is reasonably priced.

  • Where could I buy this?

  • @mewnessbro i got mine at best buy dot com

  • hey if any one is un sure about this don't be i have a plastic pro guitar and im 13 and can play medium on a good bit of songs

  • what consoles does it work on?

  • @1littlepunk Xbox360 and Playstation 3. I dont know if it works on the Wii

  • @roseofjerichoband It works on Wii too. You need the Wii midi adapter :)

  • i would consider pro guitar but almost all of my dlc is pre-rock band 3 and none of the exported songs from rb1, rb2, gdrb or any other rb games have pro guitar, and besides its too expensive, but maybe if one of my regular rb guitars breaks, but i already own an actual black and white squire strat just like that, if only it worked with rb3...

  • @andj2009 Be aware that Pro-Guitar charts cost extra. I am not sure if they will make the pro charts free.

  • Isn't this a wee bit too complicated for a game? I'd rather buy a real one even If I didn't even know how to play it rather than buying a Pro Guitar controller which only works for a game.

  • @AverageJop25 this pro guitar can work with an amp and the game.

  • @Nainimiuk09 it works on a real amp too? Like a real guitar? COOL. :D

But it is a bit too complicated, specially if you just want to play and have fun.

  • @AverageJop25 well you don't have to play on expert level. There are four difficulty levels so you can ramp up your skills and not get bogged down. also you can turn on "no fail" mode which pretty much means you can wail on the guitar all you want and you will never die.

  • @roseofjerichoband Not so bad after all.

Oh yeah and your username reminds me of KSE's song Rose Of Sharyn

  • @AverageJop25 I highly advise doing ALL the tutorials. They are really helpful for someone who has never played a guitar before (like myself). Be aware that when you play, you will go all the way back to beginner level so the temptation to pick up the fake guitar is very strong.

  • Great review

  • Are they going to make a squier bass for rock band 3 thatd be awesome

  • @Dthorn912 At this point i think its very unlikely that they will make a bass.

  • I have been playing guitar since I was 14. I think I have been around the block in music. I have to say this is incredibly insane. I think it's easier to just play guitar or bass without the game.

  • I'm wondering why the hell I would buy this when you can get a real used fender stratocaster for $300 and can get the first guitar for $200 less.

    P.S. I love Dammit :)

  • " Your fingering isnt always perfect" Thats what she said XD 8:00

  • ummm might be a stupid question but do the strings snap on those or are they made of quite strudy stuff ??
