  • Made it. Love it :)

  • HOLY CRAP! how can u just create a bracelet like that??!! AMAZING!

  • my sis loves this braclet!

  • I Would Love To See You Do A Huge Bracelet!!! At Least 40 Strings, I'm Working On One Right Now But With Your Magical Fingers, I Bet You Can Do Better ;)

  • @SamanthaP100000 I did one and it took about 10 hours. That's not really something I can film.

Search "BeyondBracelets Octopus Pattern" and you should find the video I made showing the finished product.

  • i love this bracelet. i made it and its so easy but so cute!

  • So what if I don't want to fold my pink and blank string To form a loop do I just make it half of what that would be and the green be a little bit longer?

  • @kimmiekiwi67 Yes.

  • @kimmiekiwi67 I always do that :)

  • You did not make that pattern.

  • @Bracelets1001 Actually I did. I also made the newest gingerbread patterns I have posted... and the really huge Octopus underwater pattern. This was the easiest one I have done.

  • Mine looks more like a peice of garbage than a watermelon

  • @Coolhhhghggshdhdsh Yeah, that could definitely happen with this pattern... If you know how to make basic triangles you can do that and be ghetto by putting dots of permanent marker where you want seeds (or) adding some black seed beads.

  • What kind of string do you use? Some are so stringy and they fray, but yours don't seem to ever do that :/

  • @WhatHappensNow13 The type I use is in the description... that said- mine fray, I'm just really used to dealing with them. I try not to grab the ends much... if you work from the center of the string you'll be less likely to start pulling it apart. Also, if you make a mistake and pick it apart you can loosen the twist of the floss.

  • Thnx so much

  • I loved it and it helped but can the knots get messed up

  • @MsSkullface11 The knots can get messed up a few ways. If you make the wrong one the strings will be in the wrong position for the rest of the pattern, if you pull too tight the knot can 'flip' color like in my "Knot Flip" video.

  • what do you have on your clipboard. ? (the white felt looking type stuff??)

  • @xBupheadRaGe It's white felt. =P

  • I keep messing up with the seeds some how...

  • @gingersnap416 Yeah... the seeds can be tricky. You could try doing a basic "Triangle" on each side with pink only... then add in some seed beads where you want to see the seeds. That would give a similar look without the hassle of placing the strings with a knotting grid.

  • @katiekates745 hahaha u just made my day!:D

  • I love this bracelet!!!!!! It is adorable!

  • Do u also make bracelets with initials???

  • @dushi62011 Go to my channel and click "Name Bracelets"

  • i have a problem that when im doing those my bracelet starts to twist. how come? and what can i do to prevent it?

  • @skull666crusher Hm... are you making the proper knots (two knots on each thread) and pulling them up tight enough? If you're doing it like that... then maybe try to loosen up. You could also be pulling way too tight.

Bracelets are made up of so many knots that if some of those knots are tight and others are loose it can also make it look uneven... so also try to work on your tension. Firm but fairly gently, as if you were knotting with your own hair.

  • @BeyondBracelets haha thank you ^^

  • @katiekates745 ...lol.

Well, I write down the pattern in the description bar. Maybe try following that instead... who knows, it might make your life a bit easier reading it than watching it.

  • @katiekates745 ...lol.

Well, I write down the pattern in the description bar. Maybe try following that- it might make your life a bit easier?

  • Comment removed

  • I made one and it turned out!! Love it!!

  • @mndydltn1980 Awesome, glad it worked out for you.

  • hi! thank you so much for the tutorial! It helped me a lot.

I was wondering if in your future videos if you could put a link to the time (ie 1:00 ) in the description bar that shows where eat step is in the video. I usually make my bracelet from the description and when I try to find where I am in the video it's kind of hard. :)

  • @SilverMistAurora It already takes me over three hours to make one video when it comes down to filming, editing, uploading and creating a description... doing timestampes probably would tack on another hour since I'd pretty much have to watch my own video trying to get them perfect. =/

  • @BeyondBracelets Sorry for complaining like that. I really appreciate the time you put into your videos; they all help me so much!

  • @SilverMistAurora I didn't take it as a complaint... I take these sort of things as advice that could help others... but it's just such a time consuming process already that I can't really do everything perfectly. Unfortunately, even if it is a good idea, it just would take way too much time.

  • how do u know how to do all of these things

  • @lolabells1 Practice and time. As long as you know the knots you can pretty much make anything. I look at them like puzzles... fortunately I like puzzles.

  • You inspire me beyond bracelets

  • Do you know how to make a flordele

  • this is sooo awesome and super cute :) thnx

  • @bracelets101234 You need to post about 30 videos or more that don't violate the 'rules' of youtube. No copyright infringement... I'm pretty sure I got my extension on video length prior to my 'partnership' with youtube... but I could be wrong.

  • As it is called that thread with which beams the bracelets responds please ;)

  • @rominithazul I think you used a translator... your comment didn't make any sense. I think you asked what the string is called... it's Six Stranded Embroidery Floss.

Sorry if that isn't what you wanted to know... but I couldn't understand well.

  • mine was weird

  • @coolcallie88 Probably just need to work on your knots more... it can get confusing and switching just one string by accident can ruin everything since this has seeds in it.

  • Can you please make a music note one!?? There was one i really like on friendship bracelets. net that had eighth notes and sixteenth notes in it

  • @LemonandGrapefruit Chances are it was an alpha pattern, those take too long and so I won't do them. Find the pattern and send it in if it's not an alpha.

  • @BeyondBracelets I dont think it was i just looked up music notes and that one popped up ill do it again and check! But can you make any music note one??

  • @BeyondBracelets It was called 15244 look it up!

  • @LemonandGrapefruit Ah, okay. I'll add it to the list.

  • thx, now i'm hungry, lol

  • did you use three black strings are a dark and light green

  • @camyrose123 Check the video description.

  • can u do one with turtles

  • @karinabeanz Yeah, someone else requested those already... I just can't do much until my new tripod and cam are ordered.

  • For some reason I'm getting holes on the left-hand side of my bracelet. I am knotting correctly (pulling the string upward, not out to the side). Any insight as to what is causing this?

  • @fireandwater99 I actually pull mine to the side and up- sort of at an angle not out to the side completely.

The backward knots I pull upward towards the left and the forward knots I pull upward towards the right.

It sounds to me maybe even if you are pulling upward you might be pulling them a bit awkward... that or you're not making the forward/backward/mixed knots properly. If it's only the one side I'm guessing it might just be the way you're pulling. You could try wiggling the string up.

  • Awesome

  • So cool!!!! How/where did u learn all these patterns?

  • @jbiebs4evs This one I made on my own... but I learn them from books and online when I'm not making up my own.

  • Could you make one with pumpkins??

  • @JumpingPeanuts1 I guess I could. I'm sure there are patterns for it but maybe I'll try to make one instead. Might be a good Halloween treat.

  • where do you learn all these friend ship bracelets?

  • @nx555v I made this pattern up on my own... but the others that don't have "ORIGINAL PATTERN" in the title are ones I found online. There's a bunch of patterns on Friendship-Bracelets(dot)net and I've even uploaded some of my own original patterns there. (BeyondBracelets is also my username there.)

  • Sooooo coooool

  • your so awesome!

  • @BeyondBracelets never mind my last question...... i know it already! thanks!

  • What pattern is that? I cant see because im on the iPhone :/

  • @BeyondBracelets how did you tie all the strings together? can u make a tutorial about that?

  • @allysonbtr Already have one... "friendship bracelets How to cut & fold your strings" on the YT search bar and you should find it.

  • @BeyondBracelets where can i buy this?? how much is the Six Stranded Embroidery Floss

  • @allysonbtr It depends, you can get cheaper ones for $14 dollars for 105 skeins.

  • My sisters birthday present! It rocks!

  • @BeyondBracelets hey.. what kind of string did you use??? can i replace yarn to it??? cause i don't have that kind of fabric

  • @allysonbtr Six Stranded Embroidery Floss. You can use yarn but it will be larger and fuzzier. Possibly itchier if you have cheaper yarns.

  • i love watermelons! :')

  • yes hehe good idea :)

  • it's cute but rely hard

  • @Doberman751 Yeah, this one is leaning towards advanced. The seeds make it hard... if not for the seeds it would be easy.

  • this is so cute! :3

  • i was wondering if you could do a new pattern? i found one online i iked of a shamrock but it has written instructions i really like it but i'm more of a visual person not so much a read it and do it...if you could that would be great!

  • @luckxofxthexirish Send a link to my inbox... No promises, though. I can't decided if I'll be able to make it without seeing it. Chances are I will understand it fine but there's always that small chance I'll just be completely baffled by it.

  • thats so cool :)

  • Where did you get your strings? They're thicker and Bracelets come out way better with yours.

  • @jbchick090 They're not any thicker than normal embroidery floss.

    Watch this: /watch?v=nFdIjHW9Y9U

  • I tried this pattern and i somehow endes up putting all the black seeds in oneline on one side of the melons :S i dont understand how it happend xox

  • @xLolliepopGalx Sound like you switched some strings around somewhere along the line.

I had issues making this pattern... and have told other people if you want to make it easy just make it all pink and add in black dots with some waterproof marker of some sort. Problem solved. =x

  • dose it matter if the pink and brown are floded as half ? can we just leave as full ?

  • @soccer2xo If you leave it as full strands you won't have enough. Folding doubles the strings.

If you fold 5 strings you end up with 10. If you tried to use it unfolded (the initial 5 strings) you wouldn't be able to complete the pattern.

  • how did your braclet that was already done so straight mines came out so un even except for the green but everything elses is a mess

  • @princessam145 Practice makes perfect... You just need to keep the tension pretty uniform, Basically, make sure to pull the knots up (wiggle slightly upward GENTLY if you want, I told someone else to and it helped them a bit.) also, when you make a new row just make sure not to pull too hard so you don't distort previous knots- other than that it's all practice.

I've been doing this for 15 years so it's pretty much second nature and I just developed my own 'feel' for making these bracelets.

  • Cool

  • hi! how do u think of new designs?

  • @bracelets4ever I don't know really. I just get inspiration from the things around me. Nature, other artists, just trial and error.

  • is diamond glaze toxic?? (sorry just overworried)

  • @waterbottleyea I'm not trying to sound rude but... you could search for some of these answers on your own. I just Googled "Judikins Diamond Glaze Toxic" and got this> "Not waterproof. Non-toxic. Non-irritating. Odorless. "

  • @BeyondBracelets o sorry

  • @waterbottleyea It's fine, it's just that lately I have so many messages that it's getting more difficult for me to search out the answers for everyone.

  • @BeyondBracelets yeah. my family sometimes say i have no common sense. lol

  • @waterbottleyea It's nothing to do with common sense, really. Basically, treat Google just like a person.

If you want to ask someone "What ingredients are in a kitkat?" just ask Google instead. Chances are it will answer you. Google is 'smart' like a person so if you ask it a question (any question) chances are you will find your answer right away. I always ask Google things. It's fun to see what you can find... you just need to try.

  • do you suggest making the watermelon pattern before trying the penguin?

  • @karahhhhx3 The watermelon might be a little easier... but so many of the same color can get quite confusing. Make sure to use either a cardboard loom or a felted clipboard to keep your strings from flopping around everywhere. If you can keep them in order you could probably do it pretty easily. Also, don't forget to check the description for written instructions to use as a guide.

  • @BeyondBracelets ok thank you. i tried the watermelon and its turning out pretty good. your videos make bracelets so much easier!

  • watermelons makes me happy

  • cute bracelet! =)

  • @beyondbracelets you told me a little while ago that since i was having trouble with the black seeds in this pattern i could just leave them out and add them later with marker or something. i was just wondering how exactly i would do that. i bet i sound like an idiot for not asking this earlier, but im still pretty new to friendship bracelets and need help. :)

  • @Ilovefred119 Carefully. Haha.

Basically, pick the knot you want colored and carefully dab the color on to the entire "bubble" of the knot. I'd use either a permanent sharpie or a fabric marker. Don't worry about the back... just make the front look good.

  • @BeyondBracelets Haha I meant how to make the actual bracelet without the black string :)

  • @Ilovefred119 Oh, lolol. Sorry.

I could make up a pattern for you if you would like. Are you able to follow through with the patterns of friendship-bracelets(dot)net or would you prefer I just inbox you explaining?

  • SUCH a great pattern!!! i cant wait t do this one after finish the rainbow arrowhead!! except what i do that is REALLY annyoing is leave holes from doing the knots uneven. sigh.

  • @waterbottleyea Try wiggling your knots upward slightly, don't pull the base string like you have a kung fu death grip on it while you wiggle upward though.

  • @BeyondBracelets Lol okay!!! thx for the advice :)

  • @waterbottleyea No problem. Good luck and if it keeps happening you could try doing a video of you making the bracelet- I can usually tell why knots are getting messed up if I see how people are pulling their strings.

  • @BeyondBracelets okay thanks :) I was thinking about it. But I'll try your advice first.

  • @BeyondBracelets I just used your advice and its turning out great. Thank you SO much! You're amazing :)

  • @waterbottleyea Told you, kung fu death grips aren't good for bracelets. =P

  • @BeyondBracelets Lol. guess so. :D

  • aww, i love this! my bracelet is lookin so cute <3 thanks :)

  • What do you mean by even rows?.. This is so confusing!

  • @mangoCrazy31 If you read the description you'll see what it means.

There are rows for the pattern, row 1 is the first row. It is an odd row. There is row 2 which is the second row, that is an even row. Row three is next... three is an odd number/row.

  • how many times do you have to repeat to get a full bracelet?

  • @R0ttenStrawberry I couldn't tell you, just keep measuring it to your wrist. If it's for someone else 7 1/2 inches is usually a safe length.

  • This is a very cute pattern, thanks :)

  • Love you bracelets and videos, but I had a question. I just bought some string from walmart, and its really tiny. So, its hard for me to keep track of the knots and what not, especially since I'm a beginner. What string would you suggest for me.

  • @TheOmuur You should be using either six stranded embroidery floss or craft thread.

  • haha i think this is the most confusing thing ive ever seen... i love your videos but im gonna hav to watch this one a few times before i understand it :)

  • @Ilovefred119 The seeds made this more difficult than it had to be- honestly, if you wanted to cheat you could just do basic triangles and then add seed beads where you wanted the dots... lol. That or be REALLY ghetto and just use some marker... or stitch them in after the fact.

  • @BeyondBracelets I like the marker idea... i bet i could find markers that wouldnt run in water... i'll keep working at it first though. i usually cut shorter strings than neccissary first for practice then cut the actual ones once ive got it. :)

  • @Ilovefred119 Fabric markers would be my best guess at something water safe. Also, it's good you use short strings to practice. I do that too and it's the best way to get a swatch of the pattern just to make sure you understand it and like the colors you picked for it. Good luck!

  • do you have to use dark green cause I dont have it. Also I didnt see where it is needed

  • @sakuraflora3 You don't have to use dark green, you could use the same shade... I just used it to give it more depth and interest.

Look at the "Show more" below the video... right at the [CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS] text... I always type out a video description and tell you everything you need to know there. String lengths, set up and even the pattern is typed out.

  • i like ur videos i hope u make more

    :)

  • @27volleyballgirl Soon enough. Right now my internet router is dying and it's causing my internet to run so slow I can hardly open emails without refreshing 20 times... but Monday afternoon some time I should (hopefully) be able to get a new router for my internet... so once I get a new one I should be back to posting videos regularly.

  • do we need to fold in half

  • @sparklefish12 The video description has all of the info you need.

  • @BeyondBracelets oh i get it thanks its coming out pretty could u make some more summer patterns thanks :)

  • @sparklefish12 I'll look into it... maybe I'll do my octopus pattern that I made up. It's really beachy and summery.... I think it would come out cute but since I just made the pattern and haven't actually tried it I'm not sure how it will look... but maybe I will try it out and see if it is worth posting.

  • Thanks! that helped alot!

  • This is awesome!

  • Your videos are amazing, they're so helpful and the bracelets turn out so cool :) this is my new favourite pattern, it's awesome!

Thanks for all the great tutorials :)

  • @ilovemakingbracelets Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial! =D

  • I started this, and failed miserably :P Don't worry, I will do it again :)

  • @gottojump Haha, well practice makes perfect. If you are practicing try using half the required length of string (25-30 inches appx.) and fold it- that will let you practice TWICE while still using just one bracelets worth of string.

I always use minimal when practicing new patterns... it's much harder to work with long strings, so I make myself a "sample" before wasting lots of string. This also helps serve as a color swatch so you can determine if the colors you plan to use will work nicely.

  • I tried it but the black "seeds" were as big as my finger, taking up most of the watermelon. I don't know wit happened.:(

  • @catzeye510 Sounds like you were a victim of "KNOT FLIPS" go to my channel and click the help section, look up knot flips.

  • I think I"ll try and make some of these for the "Kiddo's" Becuz you're right it is very summery! Depends how fast I can knock em out... Just cranked out 4 of the awareness ribbons tonight... took about 1.5 hours each :/

  • Fold the pinks and black in half then add the light and dark green as full strands. Tie with an overhand knot.

    i dont understand just this

  • @CupcakePrincess2397 Compliments of the HELP SECTION on my Channel-

"How To Cut & Fold Strings" watch?v=25NlBX0TXxg

  • Yay I actually did it Im so so exited, thank you so much!

  • This my favorite bracelet you've done. I've gotten so many compliments. Thanks!!

  • I'm soooo trying this when i get more strings:)!!! Can you do a penguin pattern please :o? I saw one on the frienship bracelet website i think the pattern number is 3887..I just can never understand the written instructions that go with it :/ I find it better when someone shows me how to do it :p

  • @LiveLoveLifeGIR Not sure which penguin that is but I picked a penguin one already for a tutorial I just haven't gotten around to making it.

  • wow you made that up!!!??? thats amazing you have some serious skillz! looking forward to trying it, good job

  • @AnimalSaviour101 Yeah, I play with the pattern generator on friendshipbracelets(dot)net quite a bit.

Sometimes I just mess with the generator when I'm bored... occasionally cool things come from it.

  • @BeyondBracelets Thats cool you should do that more often cause these are really good looking bracelets :P looking forward to more i hope

  • What happened to the pattern? I tried to click the link since it's easier for me to follow written patterns and it said that couldn't be found, and now it appears as pattern #41121 :S

  • @fandelesluthiers I asked one of the mods to delete the first one... I moved some of the seeds around and I wanted to re-do the pattern so they deleted it for me- unfortunately the user can't delete their own video so it took a while, I'll go check on it now.

  • @BeyondBracelets Oh I see :)

And, -sorry for being so annoying- but I have another question. How do you estimate the lenght of the strings? Like when you're making a pattern from FB.net, because I tend to use too much, to make sure I won't run out, and then end up with a lot of left over string.

  • @fandelesluthiers There's no way for me to answer this... I don't know how tight or loose you make your knots.

The only way to know for sure is to measure how much you're using, make the bracelet, then measure how much you are cutting off as left over. (Double the number of how much you cut off since strings are usually folded) Subtract the amount you cut off from the starting amount and you'll see how much you need to shorten the strings then bracelets of similar size should use that amount.

  • @BeyondBracelets Ok thanks so much :), mine is almost finished, I'll post a pic soon :D

  • i h8 watermelons but this braceletz so cute im makin it anywayz! :P..... how r yhu btw?

  • @vanillacream107 I'm okay, I guess. Still a little sore in the spot where my incisions from my surgery was but every day is a little bit better.

  • You are beyond talented!! All your designs are amazing all I can do is the forward candy stripe I think it's proven more difficult for me because I'm left handed. Any advice?

  • @TheBronzeKitty Hm... I never really considered the "left handed" friendship bracelet makers so this is a really amazing question...

I'm right handed but I've actually been able to train my left hand to make my forward knots. If I think up anything more "useful" on this topic I'll try to post a video but all I can say now is try to train your right hand to do some backward knotting.

*Check my "beginner" playlist for tips and maybe try training your right hand with some backward candystripes!
