I think the fact that it's not sung perfectly adds to the charm. It's more realistic that way. Melfina is just a girl singing a song she probably made up. Why should she have a flawless singing voice? Besides, it's still pretty.

Ah, this takes me back to the good ol' days: coming home from high school and watching Outlaw Star on Toonami. This is one of my favorite anime shows of all time. It's a shame that it didn't last more than one season.

I will admit I was more used to the Japanese version, however, having the VA sing this for the one episode gave it a much more chilling feel. I was familiar with this tune, but the removal of the lyrics and the melody gave it that creepy "oh hell what's going to happen now?" feel. The ending was rather underwhelming IMO from what I had imagined after hearing this during the episode opening. I was expecting... "OH CRAP SOMEONE I LIKE IS GONNA DIE".

I didn't expect so many people to comment on the nostalgia of this song. I've also got some very specific memories connected to it. Specifically of a girl I knew, who had a crush on me. She was weird like Allison Reynolds from The Breakfast Club. Melfina also reminded me of her. She was very small, pretty, and quiet like Melfina.

Its hard for me to to listen to this or watch new anime shows because i know its gonna end for some reason i know there not real but it hurts when they go.
i found the series both exciting but incredibly moving and depressing when character that had so much emotional interactions were killed off even if some of them were bad guys i still felt sad when they died

@PopFlipCatchStickRol Toonami had been awful for 3 years, they blew it by blowing up Adult Swim's anime block and leaving us stuck with nothing but Family Guy 6 nights a week. T'is still a huge shame Adult Swim only runs anime on Saturday nights...and even then its mostly re-runs of shows they have had for 3+ years.

me and my brother would watch toonami from the moment we got home from school to bed time everyday watching all the programs like tenchi muyo, dragonball, this, naruto, samurai jack, pokemon, and anything else showing. the day toonami went offline and cartoon network took over was the day i stopped watching television.

Cartoon Network is garbage now, toonami is what made that channel awesome. Sadly kids will never know the joy that was toonami. All they get to watch are horribly drawn cartoons with no funny = \

@MiloXXI when was it exactly when cartoon network ruined toonami. I think it was after the 2nd "crisis" mini series on the toonami ship? but, the true show in decline of cartoon network was when they tried to split TOM into many mini-TOMs

i found the series both exciting but incredibly moving and depressing when character that had so much emotional interactions were killed off even if some of them were bad guys i still felt sad when they died

no its not cowboy bebop. i know that for sher. you know that lizard guy that was the head of security of that one space station well there is an other guy in the anime i was talking about that looks like him. and as far as i know there is know lizard guy in cowboy bebop. and like i said before it was made by the makers of outlaw star.

@FSrainingdesert The show with the lizard guy is "Angel Links". There was even an Outlaw Star cross-over episode, because both shows take place in the same universe.

@FSrainingdesert They had plans to create a OVA consisting of 4 episodes and for it to be called Sword of Wind and it would be Jim as the main character. However i'm not sure if this is true or if it is just a rumor.

@PopFlipCatchStickRol Toonami had been awful for 3 years, they blew it by blowing up Adult Swim's anime block and leaving us stuck with nothing but Family Guy 6 nights a week. T'is still a huge shame Adult Swim only runs anime on Saturday nights...and even then its mostly re-runs of shows they have had for 3+ years.
