It takes a good band to do screamo, rock, AND acoustic. It takes an amazing voice to wake and pump you up, and to put you to sleep. It takes REAL people to understand and express the truth about what is going on. Rise Against has all of that. <3

Idk what it is... but I just can't sing this song all the way through. The first time I heard it, I broke down and cried... i've listened to it several times and i STILL can't sing it all the way through without crying.

@krisrossman zack, the guitarist was a soldier, he helped tim write the song. although the experiences he sings about don't represent everyone whos been. The song isnt specifically about iraq or afganistan either. he sings about how soldiers go through these tragedies that no human should witness. if two sides try to fight for good,then who is bad? as a soldier yourself, you're not fighting "your" war, your fighting your leaders war. listen to "survivors guilt" it might help you understand.

People don't need to have war to commit atrocities. They happen everyday, everywhere. What everyone forgets is that we are still animals just like monkeys, bears, dogs, etc. Just some behave more like animals than others.

Idk what it is... but I just can't sing this song all the way through. The first time I heard it, I broke down and cried... i've listened to it several times and i STILL can't sing it all the way through without crying.

As a proud member of the Armed Forces, I don't find this song offensive in the slightest. Rather, I take it as a spilling of truths. The horrors described in this song aren't ones I ever hope to witness, but I realize that it's a possibility that I could be thrown in these situations. It's for that reason I'm so proud of my job; I've taken upon myself a sacrifice few are able to in the fact that some will never have the courage to do what it takes to defend the only flag in the world I trust.

First of all if you have never been to Iraq or Afghanistan you should not comment on what goes on over there. I have spent almost 3 years of my life in both countries and I have never heard of nor seen anything they talk about in this song. This song is based off of a documentary from one reporter. To depict soldiers as murder's, as Rise Against has, based on little information is hurtful for not only myself but the lives of my friends that passed fighting over seas.

@krisrossman zack, the guitarist was a soldier, he helped tim write the song. although the experiences he sings about don't represent everyone whos been. The song isnt specifically about iraq or afganistan either. he sings about how soldiers go through these tragedies that no human should witness. if two sides try to fight for good,then who is bad? as a soldier yourself, you're not fighting "your" war, your fighting your leaders war. listen to "survivors guilt" it might help you understand.

People don't need to have war to commit atrocities. They happen everyday, everywhere. What everyone forgets is that we are still animals just like monkeys, bears, dogs, etc. Just some behave more like animals than others.

It's funny how people rage about the fact that they have fought in a war while a singer hasn't. Yeah we understand that you put your lives on the line and fought, however its extremely stupid to argue here, under a video which promotes arts, something entirely different than war. Rise Against ( the best band ever if you ask me ) might have not fought in a war, however they have the right to sing about it.

Guys understand that sometimes we can't control the world and war happens out of greed or from being provoked I mean if 9/11 didn't happen what would be different now? why were they going to war at the terrorists? because yea middle east = oil and also they were provoked by 9/11 and similar incidents
but what we can hope for is that when the next generation comes to that war won't be needed to resolve conflicts and that we won't wage wars for greed
