  • Can you raise your fanny up for a moment loooooooooool

  • i bought the SB-800 and i have a question to ask, i am mostly shooting birds. I am about 10 feet away from the bird and teh background is another 15 feet further, When i take the picture, my background is always very dark or black, can anybody know what i am doing wrong ? Thank's

  • Telling someone to relax & then telling them to "hold really still" in the same breath isn't really that useful. You can't use a model like clay.

  • sure you can. the model doesn't know what looks good. you tell her to relax and she changes her posture. then you tell her not to move so she doesn't move out of it. simple direction from a photographer to achieve the look the photographer is trying to get. models don't dictate the shoot, the photographer does. it's not the model behind the viewfinder.

  • I love it

  • This shoot was not all that it could be. The base exposure should have been calculated off of the computer monitor that the girl was looking at, so the image on the monitor was exposed properly. Then transpose that aperture and shutter speed to the camera and make adjustments on the flashes to balance to that exposure. Then you would have the exact same photo, except the computer screen would not have been washed out and white. Yes! It can be photoshop'd, but...

  • how much are they sbs' in £?

  • Pls help, can i trigger my SB600 by my SB800?, how? pls anyone help

  • Read the manual.

  • could i possibly use color filter with a sb-800 to change the color of a muslim background to give more assortment to my clients rather to carry so many backgrounds to shoots?

  • i never before used my sb-800 until i saw what you'ra doing with them...didn't expect, that they are so great, especially with filters!

  • Just a quick note. That thing on the top of your camera is a infra red flask sync isn't it? Isn't the SB-800 meant to be wireless with no need of anything else other than the camera?

  • No. It's a PocketWizard. It uses a radio frequency and its not specific to the Nikon product line.

  • I also thought the SB-800 was meant to be wireless

  • It is. Some Nikon cameras such as the D80, D300, D200 and D3 have a wireless commander built in. Other cameras like the D60 need another SB800 or an external commander.

In this video, the photographer opted to shoot with the Pocket Wizard.

By the way, I love my SB800s!

  • the D3 doesn't have built in flash. You'd need either SU-800, SB-800, or 900.

  • it is but you get better range and speed using radio flash controls

  • I use two methods to fire my strobes. One with the manufactures CLS ie. Command unit SU-800 and also PocketWizards.

  • The D200's built-in commander mode w/ SB-600 or SB-800 fires an annoying series of flashes to trigger the others. I've found that these pre-flashes in dark environments are more likely to cause people to blink at exactly the wrong time.

  • damn your good man nice work

  • Really informative and explained plainly too.

Enjoying all your videos so far.

  • what is the brand of the small ballheads used for the strobe?

    Love this, thx

    Debbi

  • Manfrotto 175F Spring Clamp + Ballhead with flasshoe. Make sure you go for the 175F (the 175 has not ballhead).

  • that's very nice

  • Informative but a little creepy.

  • Thanks mate, your videos are great!

  • do you have a return adress lable on your Pocket Wizard? I thought i was the first to do that..

  • Just company name and phone number.

  • Thanks for all your videos! They're very interesting. I hope you'll make more of them.
