  • Hey, just wondering...do you have their cover of Another Girl, Another Planet that appears on this album?

  • @DaisyBrownEyes No I don`t but I wish that I did!

  • I hadn't heard this song in probably 2 decades. No idea this was Greg Kihn back then. Thanks for posting!

  • Artie Lange on bass!

  • When this came out, I kept it in heavy rotation on the dj table and it consistently had all the chicks in the bar on the floor instantly singing along to every word. Had it been released a couple years earlier it would definately been a hit song and an 80's classic today. Just a matter of timing. By the time this came out we were already into the era of glam metal and Yo! Mtv Raps. It was just a matter of the music landscape begining to change. Great song. thanks for posting it!

  • @splashsaturn Thanks for taking the time to comment. When I first posted this clip (purely as a fan trying to promote Greg`s great music) the fella who checks YT for unauthorized uploads got in touch and suggested that I should take it down. When I explained that I was a fan and was only hoping to promote Greg`s wonderful back catalogue Greg very graciously allowed the clip to stay up. Great musician, great bloke!

  • @splashsaturn i could not believe this was NOT a big hit For Greg Kihn either,Yep by 1986 we were going into that glam metal/hip hop stuff.,a shame,The early 80's were better

  • Excellent performance with Joe for dessert--sweeet

  • Greg Kihn used to a great song called "Small Change" when he was playing small clubs in San Francisco like the Stone, The Old Waldorf, once he started doing well, he refused to do it, but it was and still is a cool song. Look for it on his old albums.

  • HaHa satch thinks hes in Miami vice

  • JOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! <3

  • I used to play this video at a dance club i worked in during 1986. It should have been a massive hit. Still one of my all time fav tunes.

  • do you by any chance have 'wild in love with you' on an album? if so, can you pls. post?

  • I haven't seen this in years. Thanks for posting!!!!

I saw Greg live back when Satriani was in the band probably late '86. Awesome show!!!! As usual they blew the roof off the dump.

  • That's Satch in the video playing the white Stratocaster, watch it again ;-)

  • love

  • A fucking mystery y this late 70's Kihn shit didnt hit PLATINUM!!!

  • mid 80's dude...1986 to be precise

  • Did anyone notice a young Joe Satriani on guitar?

  • I certainly didn`t notice Joe Satriani. Thanks for pointing it out. I had no idea Joe Satriani played with Greg Kihn way back when.

  • @Mouldytone I was looking for him on guitar when this video came up... "young" LOL...he was 30 here.

  • Yup, thats joe!

  • I've been looking up old songs and stuff and today was my first foray into Greg Kihn-land! LOL. Anyways, I sort of take him for granted. He's a local DJ here and I get to wake up to him everyday! He's funny and smart and I love all of his music. He's such a cool guy, he even made a cameo on Weird Al's video "I Lost on Jeopardy". Just look up KFOX on your browser. They have a website!

  • 'Course, this song came out after Greg had dumped the heart of his band by the wayside.

  • Wow i forgot how bad 80s pop rock was. no wonder satch was ashamed to be in the band. His solo stuff blows this crap away. At least when gilbert did it he made a few good songs.

  • Who is Satch?

  • This song is one of the shallow ones that came out around the release of the karate kid soundtrack.

    Shallow does not rock.

Our Loves in Jeopardy and the Breakup Song came from deep within to rock well.

    Atleast this song is American.

  • One of the coolest Greg Kihn tunes was "Small Change" and he didn't play it after "Jeopardy" and it's too bad. Great tune. Rendevous as well. SF Bay Area was the place. The Stone, Old Waldorf, Keystone Berkeley, Berkeley Square, ahhh, the good old days.

  • Sorry - Love and rock and roll is a GREAT album. Worst job I ever had, Pastures of green etc.

    Anyone else sharing the love?

  • I remember in the early to mid 90's painstakingly buying all the Greg Kihn c.ds, mostly in Germany except 3. Around 1998 I didn't see any more copies in Germany. I wish I bought them all. I may have an extra copy of Rockihnroll to sell. (Ridiculous prices on amazon and ebay). However please purchase official DVD from Greg's myspace, you get Happy man on it - the videos won't last long on youtube. I'm glad Love and rock and roll is up - a good song/album.

  • I have their first five albums, but haven't listened to them in years - no turntable. Does anyone know of a digital source of these albums? I saw them play several times in 1978 and 1979 in the Bay area - with Blondie in Santa Cruz, Moon Martin at Keystone Berkeley, The Knack at Keystone Berkeley, and at the Keystone Palo Alto.

  • I'm a huge Greg Kihn fan! I have this "Kihnsolidation" cd. It's great! "Love and Rock n Roll" is one of my favorite Kihn songs! Outstanding! Now if someone would post "Happy Man."

  • Wow - kihdred spirits here. Did you know that before internet, I always wondered how I would ever meet another GKB fan "Another time, another place, another face..." I consider Dave Carpender to be worthy of Guitar player front cover and I still intend someday to make a pilgrimage to the Bay area! What great chops, sound - Politics, Secret meetings etc. They even replayed a 1978 concert in Germany a few years back, and I have the footage and plan to learn a few solos note-for-note!

  • I should have mentioned my sadness in learning of Dave Carpender`s passing in October 2007. What glorious music he`s left us! Rock On Dave..

  • Wow, I didn't know. That guy could play, a lot of memories from nights at the Old Waldorf in SF. Bummer

  • Hey Mouldytone! As a 35 year old Canadian fan, I have been preaching those albums, especially "Greg Kihn again"! I listened to it 1000 times - one of the best spine-tingling albums of all time. Check out Greg Kihn's myspace..to be kihntinued...

  • Ah..the single that nearly ignited..first sign of Joe Satriani..I'm not Greg Kihn, just a huge fan, I still think the Greg Kihn band were at times the best rock band in American history - there's a reason why the videos don't last long here. Purchase the official DVD from his site directly!

  • I have The Greg Kihn Band`s first four albums which I still regard as pop genius. This clip, recorded by me off TV in 1986 has been uploaded by me as a very long time fan, purely as a showcase for Greg`s wonderful songwriting and performance. I`d love to purchase an official DVD. Trouble is I`ve never seen one, heard of one and can`t find one on his website or anywhere else.
