To all who might want to know what a NONpoisonous snakebite from a snake this size feels like, its about the same as getting poked by briars. A snake half this size or smaller feels mostly like rough sandpaper on your skin. Kinda like a cat's tongue.
Funny how people are afraid of it lol. Theyre more afraid of the strike than the bite.
man i live in georgia and you would think i would find a lot of stuff but all ive found is a 4 foot black racer and that was 3 years ago. i really like eastern kings .
I love your king snake.None here in maryland *tear* But I did get a 3 foot black snake.I was called to catching or he would be killed by my friend..so yeah hes been with me for 2 months now.Never trys to bite.Don't listen to these assholes who thinks its wrong to keep wild caught snakes. I think its better then having the get killed by people. As long as they eat. I would say its fine to keep them.. Feed food and a safe place with nothing to worry about...if not then they get let go...
If it makes you feel better, tell yourself this snake was crushed by a car while crossing a warm road on a cool summer night and eaten by crows the next day instead of being captured, cared for, and bred to produce amazing snakes for several generations. Or possibly killed by a ferel cat. Or a moron with a shovel who doesn't like snakes in their yard.
Every snake that has ever been purchased as captive bred is a descendant from once wild snakes. If this one and the female he caught breed and provide captive bred offspring for people to buy instead of catching other wild snakes, then is he not doing a good thing? Would it be better if this snake were eaten by a hawk later in the day? I se nothing wrong with taking a few specimens from the wild and breeding them. Where do you think Captive Bred snakes come from?
..."and you are mine now", jrsjrsjrsjrsjrsjrs. 2 time i watch this vid, same feeling when i go huntin snakes. same feeling. throw this vid and thousands of kilometers i could feel that too. huahuahua, happy for you. Ignacio Arg.
hauhauhauhauhau, I`m glad for you, lucky you found it. Beautiful animal. So as you sai try to breed it. Good luck and keep going man. Ignacio from Argentina.
i once grabbed on the tail of a king when i was gettin dead grass to start a bbq at the lake, then i ran like a little girl.. lolz... of course that was way before i learn they were not posionous...
that is a Huge king snake, we dont have those where i live, we just have spekled king snakes and good ol' prairie king snakes, but me and my dad went to southern illinois and caught a red milk snake and a young cotton mouth...it was awesome. we kept the milk snake
lol sor-RY! Sorry for throwing a friendly comment on a video, that isn't even you'res. And by the way, he did'nt exactly say that. He just said: "You are mine now!" That could just have been a little irony lol. He did not say exactly: "I'm going to keep you as a pet" Lol YOU gotta listen.
hey im getting me a baby eastern kingsnake now im keeping him in a 10 gallon cage but when hes 2ft long ill move him into a 40gallon he 20in long right now but i have skinks and their cage is right next to his and he looks at them all the time wanting to eat them lol its a borad headed skink
Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, they're immune to the bites of other venomous snakes, hence the name KING snake. It can eat any other snake it comes across as long as it's not too big.
haha i have the same problem! unlike most girls i love snakes & i can never find them when i look! but i'll always find them when i'm sitting in my bro's tree house (thats when he screams and runs away!) nawesome snake i have a few pythons of my own tho
It was a wild snake that was moving past my front door. I caught it and shipped to a guy who has a female from my front yard too. He'll be breeding them next year probably.
I've got one of the first captive born Albino Eastern Kings from the original Tenessee wild caught albino... for those who don't know, that would be an F1.. he's a hair over 5 feet and I have a 3 foot normal phase female. Thats awesome! I'm familiar with that story. There's a buddy who's local to me who has a legitimate real deal albino Okeetee cornsnake. Just like your eastern, the amel came from a genuine mutation in the gene, not from cross breeding something else into it. Got a video of yours?
I don't have videos yet, just pix, tried to reply with a link to my picturetrail page but it wouldn't let me post it. anyway go to picturetrail and look up craigscritters
I'll see if I can borrow a video camera and start recording some stuff
I just purchased an Eastern king from my dealer. It does that crazy rattle thing with its tail! I think he's just grumpy as he's going to shed soon. Very stout snake with very pale bands. Somebody told me that the more black the snake the more likely it is to come from mountainous terrain whereas a more banded one is likely to be closer to the coast. Mine reminds me of the Australian Tiger snake!
Sorry to say but the amel eastern kings have been proven to have been started by introducing the amel gene from the eastern black king....and you are in the heart of eastern black king territory.
Dude Im going throught the same thing here. I keep looking for a Florida king but I keep finding corns, rats and racers. You mention you love this place where is this place. You dont have to be specific.

I can definitely vouch for that. I released a hognose snake today and was pulling on some black plastic laying out and heard a tail shake. Sure enough there was a speckled king a hair under 4 foot in there. It was overcast out and in the 70s Took some great photos and put it back. Still don't get tired of finding them.
Ummm, thanx? LOL I cant really take credit for the size of the snake. I was impressed by it too though. It ate small rats with no problems, and quite casually for a wild snake at that too!
