  • I saw one of these once on I-87 in upstate NY about 4 years or so ago. I had no idea what it was except for that is said "sun chaser" on the rear. I looked it up and couldn't find anything on the car until my wife told me a character in a book she's reading drives an sr5. A google image search brought up this beaut. The one I saw was the same color and trim. Same car maybe?

  • no interior vidio,i no longer have my camera.

its all OE SR5 in #8.5 condtion with new carpet and dashpad.

  • Like it very nice, any interior video?

  • amazing

  • wow very very nice

  • i cant believe you wasted a Starion on the Corolla...

  • Beautiful

  • Nice car, hard to find parts i'll bet

  • im always looking in the junkyards, its great fun

  • I just bought one of these! same model and year. Its just primer black and a little beat, but drives great!

I will try to get a video response here soon.

    thanks for sharing.

  • Toyota got just a little inspiration from the Mustang yes?

  • i love seeing this car at the shows...great quality work on her....cant wait to get mines on the road

  • So this is a special model.

Indeed it is a totally forgotten model, but the basic model doesn't look very good indeed. What with poison green etc.

My friend has a basic model with 2T. I've used in the past and am getting it to use for this winter as my TE71 brokedown yet again and is undergoing a major rebuild.

Intention is to one day get my friend's TE51 museum registered.

  • wow! I didn't think that a TE51 could be made actually stunning and beautifull to look at!

    Good work!

  • ya the te51 is almost a forgotten model.

i've had many. But remember this is stock except for rims and lights.

  • Very nice ride!! I like those rims too. Are those Mitsubishi Starion wheels? Where the 5 bolt hubs come from? Sorry about my bad english.

  • yes mitsu. rims 16x9 rear and 16x7 front.

the rear axles were drilled for 5 lug and bolt on adapters for front hubs.

  • I recognize that license plate, that's the same Corolla Sunchaser I saw in this month's issue of Sports & Exotic Car Magazine! Haha, seeing that sexy car in that magazine is the reason why I was searching for it in the first place, figures I'd come up with your same car! It looks like a wonderfully maintained example.

If it wasn't for your car, and seeing it in that magazine, I'd never have known the Sunchaser existed.

  • i didnt know there was a sunchaser corolla eithre until i saw this one.thanks

  • sharp car im looking for one like that let me know if interested in selling or if you know of one for sale

  • I don't think it was me, there is another similar to mine. Mine is mostly stock, spare the removed cats and retune... I'm 40 minutes southwest of Albany, and am regularly in Colonie. I think I've spotted you, or possibly another 'Chaser in Colonie too.

This thing sounds amazing and the Celica/Supra rims are a perfect fit on it!

  • Saw you on route 9 today, I was in a silver Subaru WRX Wagon, bronze wheels. Car looks sharp! Always wanted one....

  • thanks for the post. I saw you on the way into the big day out SPAC show.

I've seen you rippin around clifton park in your subaru wagon. That car is fast.

guptills car show tonight mon. 7-13

  • i have the same car 79 baby blue

  • Sweet ride.
