@immasurvivor I hate it when people say that HoN is like a DoTA and LoL isn't. Sure, HoN is a lot more similar towards DoTA but LoL isn't that much different. It all comes down to which you prefer. I've given LoL a shot but I think that HoN is much better, almost everyone I know plays LoL but only because most of them haven't give HoN a chance and the only reason LoL is so popular is because of word of mouth.
LoL is a lot more accessible and there is a lot of customization available but the artwork of the game is too cartoon-like and it isn't very detailed compared to HoN. The game play for HoN is just so much better.
@seavlong1 You need a pretty impressive graphic card an HD screen to really appreciate the look of the game, the map and the characters are very defined and detailed. LoL looks way too cartoon-like for me. I can barely take the game seriously.

I've not played HoN as much as i've played LoL but these matches that i've been playing have i had alot of rage in HoN. All though in LoL if you have leaver in 5v5 so can you still win if you have a team that knows what they're doing in HoN are you basicly screwed if you're one man short. 6years DotA player here... Just started LoL for 6months.. I really liked LoL. But i think LoL are for lazy players lol.. like you have recall, and so many spells. But i like the both game. HoN has really have a good quality. Not like dota. But They're still the same.
Being n00b friendly isn't terrible, it's a smart marketing ploy. HoN seem like more of a hardcore players game that isn't bad either. Both companies that are trying to reach a certain demographic by making their games fit different rolls. Good video.. Good matchup in the ups and downs of the older versions of the game.. both games are updated tho but I would go for HoN.. But i say it's a taste thing, both are very different in style but similar in gameplay since they're both Moba games.. I would say try them out both and make ur choice both are very solid games if u ask me!

In HoN, yes. Although now you can 'prebuy' new heroes two weeks in advance. Although you will get them for free after two weeks. So there's no point in doing it really.

HoN is far to one sided levels and 1 or 2 kills effect the gameplay to much its hard to turn a game around. Once they learn their skills they put points into stats and your done. AND by the way LoL has way better graphics! its more light and all the heros on HoN look the same takes 3 looks to tell the difference. LoL is SMOOTH and even color changes for color blind LoL graphics win!

PS: There's no such thing as perma stun and inffinity mega creeps in lol. If your team accidently fed the other team, there's still a chance you can win back, in hon there's no such thing. And for the record, lol has way more players than hon at the current state.
Everyone can more or less agree that LoL -IS- more noob friendly than HoN. I wont decide if that is a good or bad thing. I am ceratinly no HoN-pro. But I like the challange HoN presents way more then LoL does.
Creep denies, gold loss on death, you actually have to buy a portal to get back to your well, you can't spam abilities on creeps since mana management is alot harder. The list goes on.
And, check some competitive games. They go on for 40-60 minutes each. Even matches.
@Eerayo Again you don't know anything about Lol. Hon borrowed most of the ideas from the legendary dota, so the requirement to play hon is pretty high. But then what if you accidently fed a carry in hon? It means the game is over, the carry either has cit (x2x3), evasion, or permastun (can't do anything yay). In lol you can still shut down the fed carry with nuke and such because there are no such item that give you immune to spell.
@Eerayo Oh and the portals you say. In lol if you get attacked, you will be interrupt the channelling process of teleportation. In hon, you can still chanelling and laugh at the enemy if they don't have stun>>> Lol doesnt relly on stun that much and so most of the champions dont have the 1 click stop you from doing everything. Nukers, mages, supporters in lol can scale better at late game than hon because of the ap ration/ad ratios. And the list goes on.
More People play LoL because LoL was always F2P and because LoL was released before HoN. HoN came later, but with a good reason. They gave more Love for the Detail.

I personally prefer LoL over HoN, not because I have played a lot of both and picked LoL. It's because each time I decide "I'm gonna give HoN another try!", I get met with an incredibly hostile community. I understand that LoL players aren't the nicest either, it's just I've gotten past the point in LoL when people complain about me. In HoN, this is not the case. I prefer LoL because my first impression was less hostile than my first impression of HoN.
personal note:towers damage also increase over time the more a champion is hit by it in lol(if turret A attacks champion B, champ B will be hit with an increasingly stronger attack each time it is hit by turret B.therefor soloing a turret without a minion wave supporting you will eat away a large part of your health bar,even on higher lvls).

I'd go for LoL. The reason is because HoN tutorials are really messed up. The shop's confusing. Also as the video said, the community sucks. Bad community with trolls + new people = Fail. They'll keep asking you to uninstall the game the whole match. I started with HoN and I quit exatly after 3 matches but later I learnt from LoL and now i'm pretty good at HoN too. But still if all these points were rectified, HoN would be a great game. But nothing can beat DOTA <3

Definitely a biased video. There was no team fight gameplay shown in LoL which I believe is much better and occurs more often.

I play both games and i think they are both good.

HoN is for sure better if you like a more hardcore approach to the MOBA genre. LoL is more 'noob-friendly'.
HoN has better graphics aswell as better gameplay but is in return a more difficult game.

That's just a stupid comment.. You should l2p instead of bitching about it taking no skill. Watch a few competitive games and you'll see. Most of the games goes on for 40 to 60 minutes. And can sway to the other teams favor in a single teamfight. LoL is easymode, no gold loss on death, no creep denying, crap graphics..

@Eerayo as you were posting this "comment" i was playing HoN and i found a better way to explain myself. HoN is far to one sided levels and 1 or 2 kills effect the gameplay to much its hard to turn a game around. Once they learn their skills they put points into stats and your done. AND by the way LoL has way better graphics! its more light and all the heros on HoN look the same takes 3 looks to tell the difference. LoL is SMOOTH and even color changes for color blind LoL graphics win!

PS: There's no such thing as perma stun and inffinity mega creeps in lol. If your team accidently fed the other team, there's still a chance you can win back, in hon there's no such thing. And for the record, lol has way more players than hon at the current state.

Everyone can more or less agree that LoL -IS- more noob friendly than HoN. I wont decide if that is a good or bad thing. I am ceratinly no HoN-pro. But I like the challange HoN presents way more then LoL does.
Creep denies, gold loss on death, you actually have to buy a portal to get back to your well, you can't spam abilities on creeps since mana management is alot harder. The list goes on.
And, check some competitive games. They go on for 40-60 minutes each. Even matches.

@Eerayo Again you don't know anything about Lol. Hon borrowed most of the ideas from the legendary dota, so the requirement to play hon is pretty high. But then what if you accidently fed a carry in hon? It means the game is over, the carry either has cit (x2x3), evasion, or permastun (can't do anything yay). In lol you can still shut down the fed carry with nuke and such because there are no such item that give you immune to spell.

@Eerayo Oh and the portals you say. In lol if you get attacked, you will be interrupt the channelling process of teleportation. In hon, you can still chanelling and laugh at the enemy if they don't have stun>>> Lol doesnt relly on stun that much and so most of the champions dont have the 1 click stop you from doing everything. Nukers, mages, supporters in lol can scale better at late game than hon because of the ap ration/ad ratios. And the list goes on.

I personally prefer LoL over HoN, not because I have played a lot of both and picked LoL. It's because each time I decide "I'm gonna give HoN another try!", I get met with an incredibly hostile community. I understand that LoL players aren't the nicest either, it's just I've gotten past the point in LoL when people complain about me. In HoN, this is not the case. I prefer LoL because my first impression was less hostile than my first impression of HoN.

personal note:towers damage also increase over time the more a champion is hit by it in lol(if turret A attacks champion B, champ B will be hit with an increasingly stronger attack each time it is hit by turret B.therefor soloing a turret without a minion wave supporting you will eat away a large part of your health bar,even on higher lvls).

I'd go for LoL. The reason is because HoN tutorials are really messed up. The shop's confusing. Also as the video said, the community sucks. Bad community with trolls + new people = Fail. They'll keep asking you to uninstall the game the whole match. I started with HoN and I quit exatly after 3 matches but later I learnt from LoL and now i'm pretty good at HoN too. But still if all these points were rectified, HoN would be a great game. But nothing can beat DOTA <3
