@arresteddevlopment1 well if theres life on earth then there is a guarantee that there is life somewhere...since there are billions of planets out there
I think they've found a larger star more recently! ah yes here it is the R136a1 , its too big for an actual name! Altough its only a "hypergiant star" , oh maybe its not bigger just bigger in mass, or somethin... pfff
It really makes you feel very insignificant, feeling so small when compared to these absolutely massive stars. I don't think mankind has any special place or right in the Universe, but, in the words of Carl Sagan: "We are a way for the Cosmos to know itself". That thought in itself, I find very inspiring. Let's turn our eyes to the sky and explore the sea of space. Who knows what's out there. :)
my thought if there is a star as big as VY CANIS MAJORIS. then could there be a planet as large as our sun rotating around it?? and if it had life on it how large would they be?? to large to notice that there are humans inhabiting a tiny planet called earth?
With this evidence why the fuck are we looking for aliens obviously to theme it would be like looking for atoms in a hay stack. "did you hear something honey ?" "Oh its that annoying human noise I tell you when we find that tiny planet I'm going to crush it. " "No hun just fart another black hole that should wipe them out. "
In our galaxy. Cause I was told there are 300 billion stars in the milky galaxy and almost, if not, half of these stars have more than one planet orbit a star. You have to be pretty arrogant and close minded, if you believe that earth is only planet with life in the universe, and I am tired of these old phd farts saying earth is a mistake and that life is a mistake. Where there is liquid, there is life. That is way scientist are looking for planet that could maintain any form liquid on it s
Wow just wow, our yellow sun is a puny, hot temper solar flare baby. Earth is nothing but a spec of dust and all this god-like behemoth stars(last star shown in this video clip) are all within the the milky way galaxy. What about andromeda that a big galaxy, or those old mega galaxy or super galaxy. And recent they announce there are 7 sextillion trillion galaxy. I feel so worthless. I am not going to put my faith in this vid, this is a science not religion. I wonder how many earth like planet
It gets you thinking, Canis Majoris is the biggest known star, but that's only in the milky way, the biggest galaxy/ nebula's can have star's that can put Canis Majoris to shame

once you've seen this, try to imagine the size of a galaxy or even try to imagine the size of the whole universe... you just can't ... our mind is limitted to thing we've seen inside the earth... i can't even imagine the size of our moon...
@TheFoggyB Totally. Thanks. One of the men who spearheaded the human genome project was an atheist and after completing the project is a believer. We are no accident.
@madskillz1o1 Not joking. At all. Very serious. Please don't patronize people by calling perfectly capable adults "silly". Incite intelligent conversation by asking intelligent questions or just keep your peace.
@GlennFalconiVEVO Please don't use the "f" word. It is really offensive to some people. Use civility and maturity to create intelligent conversation on youtube rather than using sophomoric rhetoric, please.
@BadHairsRevenge1981 That's no answer to my question. Typical christians. Never answer anything directely. You have no proof of your phoney baloney jesus. So why don't you just screw off and look up a video that actually has somthing to do with ' jesus '. And what, are you kidding me? 'Please don't use the f word'? DON'T MAKE ME FUCKING LAUGH AHAHA. What's more offending is that you're stating some guy with a beard created the universe. Now 'fuck' off and never come back again you neanderthal.
@GlennFalconiVEVO You want proof? If there's creation, there's a creator. Everything has a cause. The universe came into being by the big bang, and what caused the big bang? Nuclear reactions. What caused those nuclear reactions? Atomic clashes. And what caused atoms? The creator, don't be saying shit, cause i strongly believe in both science and religion. And Jesus isn't god, stopping acting like he is. He's a prophet
@Ch18dp1 Let me elaborate as you are too stupid to grasp my comment. You were basically saying what i was going to say.. But then you stopped when you mentioned ''the creator''. But hey. If every painter has an artist... Then he most have one too... Right? And i wasn't talking about jezus. Honestley. I don't see the diffrence between these 2 fictional people that are the creators of only WAR itself. It's people like YOU who slow down the progress of MANKIND. Please commit suicide. Die in a fire.
@Ch18dp1 do you actually know anything about astronomy? nuclear reactions? from the big bang? lol maybe in stars there is nuclear fusion (while we use fission) and there is no evidence at all that the big bang happened because of nuclear activity. The idea of a "creator" is a simple one, but there always comes back the question where did the creator come from, and etc. You are fucking giving an irrelevant answer that leads nowhere
@BadHairsRevenge1981 Please don't bring a freaking debate into this. Yes, it's fascinating but you're strarting an irrelevant discussion for something that has nothing to do with the subject
@rinapat96 I didn't bring a debate, I simply made a comment of my own volition and accord and got attacked because of my personal beliefs. I wasn't addressing you and my comments have nothing to do with you. If you don't like them then don't come to youtube where there are people of all backgrounds and beliefs come professing such comments.
@BadHairsRevenge1981... If you weren't addressing rinpat96 who were you addressing?
A comment on a persons video is a way of addressing them, duh!!
If you want to express religious beliefs, I'm sure that there is a different website for that. Not someones video on scientifically how small the world is in comparison to what is out there!!
@rinapat96 also, my comments have everything to do with the video. The youtuber who first attacked me asked me "How do you know God is real?" etc. How do you explain to someone how salt tastes if they've never had it? Try it. You have to experience the taste of salt to understand it, same with spiritual matters, how do you explain to someone who has never chosen to search for God how you know? Worlds without number. That's how many He's created. Suns, worlds, it has everything to do with it.
After seeing so huge stars existing by billions throughout the universe and still holding the belief that we were the centre of creation requires a egocentrism so huge as the largest last star ever known. Only religious are capable of that.
Wait I'm baffled I thought the largest star was the one they found a few weeks back and it had "only" the mass of 300 suns. In this video they are quite clearly much larger!
Earth: small Sun:still small T Cephei:small Milky way:small universe:small do u know what's big? Estimated US size of debt by 2014. approximately 8000 times bigger than universe

@chaboki92 Have you seen the movie "Men in Black"? There was a whole universe (or galaxy, can't remember) on a cat's leash or what :D Even that could be real. And the evil santa is playing with us. This is alllllllll truuuuuuue :D
@chaboki92 The universe is more times than not, a very ridiculous place. In a universe of infinite possibilities, we have to accept that one of those possibilities (however unlikely), is that we might be the only intelligent life in existence. We simply do not have enough facts to make an accurate determination.
@chaboki92 Because humans are arogant dull minded ego hungry and they arn't willing to accept that they arn't the most inportant thing! Well that describes 99.8% of the population anyway.
@chaboki92 not all stars can possibly harbors life. i'm sorry if i couldn't site the source but 2 years ago, i've read an article / watched which discusses the possiblity of another lifeform besides earth. there are a bunch of prerequisites/requirements to have a possible lifeform exist. it was around 1 in a trillion of a trillion (i don't really remember well but the range should be near a trillion of a trillion). though communicating with another lifeform is theoretically impossible currently.
@lyon1535 absolutely correct. god forbid we ever run into a super evolved space faring species as the result would be similar to that of the aztecs at the hands of cortez or the native americans by the US settlers...on a much more extreme scale
@SynestheticSoul for a planet to support life, one requirement is that there should be a constant source of energy. in our case, it's the sun. and meh, i'm talking the definition of life as we know of. but any possibility could exist.
Everything we know about the universe is based on thearies... you can not prove anything right or wrong, so maybe the universe could be something completely different from what we think it is.. lol
yes, eventually that is the final stage of our existance. As far as i know the "immortals" are long phisically gone just like the rest of us will be. the only diference is their impact is felt thru a longer time frame than that of the "common" man.
So we know, without question, the size of these stars?

@lyon1535 absolutely correct. god forbid we ever run into a super evolved space faring species as the result would be similar to that of the aztecs at the hands of cortez or the native americans by the US settlers...on a much more extreme scale
seekup3436 6 months ago
@aqcpatrick That's assuming all life requires the same things our planet does.
We used to believe that all life needed sun to live. Now we know better. Be creative.
SynestheticSoul 6 months ago
@SynestheticSoul for a planet to support life, one requirement is that there should be a constant source of energy. in our case, it's the sun. and meh, i'm talking the definition of life as we know of. but any possibility could exist.

That's because you are just a tiny fraction of a fraction.
So is an atom inside of you.. Could that actually host another universe?
PesiCool 2 years ago
@PesiCool darn that gets me thinking...
ledjaman 2 years ago
Everything we know about the universe is based on thearies... you can not prove anything right or wrong, so maybe the universe could be something completely different from what we think it is.. lol

@PesiCool gets me thinking even more!

We will never know the true secrets behind our existance, the universe, dimensions and everything else....

yes, eventually that is the final stage of our existance. As far as i know the "immortals" are long phisically gone just like the rest of us will be. the only diference is their impact is felt thru a longer time frame than that of the "common" man.
