  • Wow... that was great!!

  • Can you hear me?

    IIIIIIII Love you

    Believe me now

    I could never say goodbye

    Dont leave me now

    Beleve me now

  • @lonstar70 Hmmmmmmmm - the jury is out. I can just about hear 'Don't leave me now' but could still easily be Believe Me Now but the others just don't gel in my ears.

  • And also.... "I love you"

  • @lonstar70 All guesses I guess. I picked up 'hear me' but can't hear 'Can you hear me'. He should se less echo and perhaps we would hear him. I don't pick up 'I love you'.

  • You also forgot the first vocoder lyric, "Can you hear me?"

  • I always thought it was "I'll return again somehow". Are there any official "lyrics" for this, or just guesses by us fans?

  • Really good song you played it excellent

    .

    also nice British accent mate

  • Nice one! One of my favourite ELO tunes.

  • I BELIEVE!!!!

  • Awesome rendition! I can't wait to hear some more of your ELO covers. Keep up the great work!

  • I like how the clock goes from 18:04 to 17:58 :P

  • @mordsgaudimachen - The video was shot at 4 different angles, I only have 1 camcorder hence the times changing. The soundtrack is from only 1 of the angles. Don't ask which one, I can't remember.

  • Beautifull....Nice shirt.

  • That is some back masking shit!

  • Ok. Is that good or bad shit?

  • @gahloot Good playing but the original song has some great back masking in it! That is if your a Satanist!

  • Astounding. Brilliant job, my friend.

  • wow! nice cover

  • love it wow

  • BRAVO !!!

  • absolutely great, elo fan from Ireland

  • I just came across this fantastic version - and how apropos on Jeffs birthday - love it love it love it! I want to hear more!

  • Wow, great song.

  • Masterful!!!

  • Wonderful! Great job!

  • I like your version very much, great atmospheric video.

5 * and keep them coming

    Robin :o)

  • wow you are great at this we need more elo covers and you are an genius at them

  • nice jigsaw :P

  • Great Job! One of my faves from OOTB...still sends a chill down my spine

  • Love this tune and your version is great

  • brilliant playing from a true elo fan you can hardly tell the differance

  • Many people thought first this track was an overture for the song Steppin´out.

Do you know what else that vocoder say that "believe me now " in that original ELO track ?

  • Believe me now

    I'll be there again somehow.

    Believe Me Now

    Believe Me Now

  • Thanks - had always thought it was "I would rather be a clown/alone" - ALOWN being Brummie for "alone"! ; )

  • @trap0001 Hey, what is said at the end of "Mr Blue Sky?" with the vocoder?

  • @lonstar70 "please turn me over" because it was the end of that side of the LP.

  • @lonstar70 I think it's "Please dry blue over" but please turn me over is a good idea too...

  • @chrisbitz It's clearly "please turn me over" - it's the end of side 3...

  • Just stopped by for an ELO fix Paul!

Any chance of putting up the chords for this video?

Great playing with a superb style!

    Del

  • Del I reckon the chords are:-

Dm, Am, Bbmaj7, then Dm into A major (repeat)

Final bit is: Dm, Bb7 twice then Dmajor to finish.

Correct me if I'm wrong trap0001.

  • That's pretty much it although the piano part includes 9ths for the 'final bit'.

  • How about ELO´s From the Sun to the World ? Do you like the track ? It has marvellous piano / moog- lines. I know you could do that !

  • Fantastic!

  • 'Oh, this is going to be great or crap' I thought before I clicked to play. Bloody Hell! I was blown away, absolutely brill. I love the sound quality and the way you've filmed it. This just needs to be played LOUD! Thanks for uploading.

  • the sound is as nice as the cut. GREAT!

  • Great Job Man... Can you do a tutorial on how to play this song... Cheers...

  • Awesome. You are very good.

  • Was that a Korg M1?

    Wow... ancient...

What's in your rig? My current: Keys:Fatar 990 controller, Roland D-50, Roland Fantom X8

Racks:Alesis Data disk (OMG!!) Roland Super JV-1080 (4 modules) Roland D-550 (keeping to grave) Akai S3000XL DMC MX-8 (patch bay) Kawai MX-8R (1/4" mixer) Alesis MMT-8 (table top) Roland D-110, Korg Radias-R,Yamaha MOTIF Rack XS...I guess that sort of dates my rig but after the fantom I really had what I needed. The korg and yamadog are recent adds. I miss the M1tho

  • Not quite just the M1, there's also a Korg O5R/W module in there doing most of the orchestral and drums work. The most dated item (apart from me) is the DW8000 closely followed by the Roland Piano.

  • I love those decending bass notes at the end...very phantomoftheoperaish. Were they your onw touch?

  • Yeah, sort of, I 'hear' notes that aren't actually in the original and add them as my own stamp on the track. Artistic license I guess.

  • Now that was GOOD, Paul .. what a great rendition! Do you have any other ELO tunes up your sleeve?

  • Thanks - Horrace Wimp is in the pipeline.

  • I myself learnt to play the guitar intro

of the ELO song 10538 Overture.

  • Nice

  • Super

  • Ex stuff. Saw ELO back in 1977 and 1981. Just found out Kellys Dead. I'm shocked to say the least.

  • Very cool, great job! I was just given an RD-300s to learn to play on, I hope I can make mine sound as good as you make yours!

  • Given!!! Cool - this uses Piano #3

  • nice vid!

  • wow, all you needed was the choir incredible

  • Stunning m8!

  • Dude...you rock.. This was a great way to start the day! Thanks for the great effort.

  • Fanbloodytastic!!

    Nicely played and arranged.

  • Very cool.Well done...Only the original would be better

  • Very nice. I wish I could play like that!

  • Good work fella, that is excellent.

Pissed myself at the 'no bogroll' comment.

  • holy crap. well done! maybe i won't sell my 05R/W after all!!

  • Thanks. I'd reply in your language but I can't decide what it is. None of the on-line translators will touch it either!!

  • no it isnt dutch.. seems like a mash up of dutch german and russian or sumthing

  • i'm confused, how much of this track was you?? and how much was ELO?,, all those sounds didnt come out of your bontempti electric reed organ, DID IT??

  • man this is awesome!, well done

  • Work of ART! Cheers Trap

  • Trap, that was stunning. Carry on like this and you'll give 'home recording' a good name!Really enjoyed it.

  • Beautiful, so beautiful Trap!

  • Great!

  • This be the first time I hear this music. I hear a sound. No bells.

  • absolutely phenominal! sounded like the CD!

  • quality my friend! wish I was there to hear it live. anymore elo instrumental interludes in your catalogue?

  • Good job.

  • You mean there never was a cowbell in there anywhere? Blimey.

  • Slightly disappointed by the lack of a vocoder track, but otherwise it was amazing; a spot-on cover.

  • Is that it???? wheres the rest??

  • Excellent. Loved it, great job! Thanks. //dan

  • Not so shirty this time eh?

  • really really good!!

  • Really enjoyed your rendition of this track. A very good attempt - let's hear some more. Maybe you could develop this theme...?

  • Really nice rendition. Well worth the effort. I've always viewed Believe Me Now as the intro to Stepping Out, and not really as song in it's own right.

  • What a brilliant sound, you are so clever, if I could sit in a room and hear that with my eyes closed, I would think I was at an ELO concert, you sure have a lot of talent, must be hard work.

  • I hope you fucking rot in hell this man has talent! A+++

  • Right on! I was impressed!

  • Not nice, MotorHeadz, not nice at all. Though you have some great favorites. You mother.

  • trap0001: Pay no mind; he probably was force-fed a lot of used motor oil as an abused child.

  • All about this video is awesome. You're a talented director and musician.

  • Good job! This and "Shangrila (sp?) are two such interesting tracks. I've always assumed that JL couldn't go anywhere with the melody so he just recorded what he had and went no further. I love both tracks, I'm just puzzled by them. Any thoughts on what they're all about?

  • "Hey! Ahhh do you.. Believe me now

I'll be there again somehow. Belive Me Now"

I've no idea what it means. Your guess about him not taking his 'riff' to a full song is probably right, or perhaps he was just happy with it the way it was, short and sweet. It would be interesting though to extrapolate this short piece into a full song. Could be a new project!? Keep watching.

  • This is definitely a great ELO track and I think you did it justice well. Good job!

  • GREAT JOB!

Love to hear this lovely song..

Out of Blue was my first ELO album and when I first listen this song was in 1998

i was a 14 year old boy and I get so emotional that i need to relieve tears...

With this song little song felt in love for ever and ever with ELO.

    Thanks

    Big Hug from Argentina

  • this gave me chills, just like the original ELO song did...

    kudos my friend

  • wonderful =) woooow very great

  • This is very beautiful. I recomend using the korg vocoder if you can get it to sound like it did in ELO. 5 Stars!!!

  • I did this video quite a while before I got my paws on the MicroKorg vocoder. I may do an updated version some time - just waiting to make sure You Tube aren't going to delete any more of my hard work for 'copyright violation'.

  • That's amazing. I would definatly take it as a compliment.

  • YouTube can swallow a knife. This isn't a copyright violation if you're doing it yourself, is it? I mean it's really nothing more than a cover, right? I could be wrong but it's your version of the original.

I miss your Standin' In The Rain video!!!!!!!!! (But you knew that already!)

  • im the "little leon jackson fan" that you totally insulted. And i think youre really good.

  • I only called you a 'little teenage girl'. My missus would LOVE to be insulted like that.

  • fantastic - have very much enjoyed watching through your vids. Very well put together and the music was immaculate. Thanks

  • hey trap dont listen to the knumb nut deaf critics here! You ROCK!

  • UTTER CRAP!

  • Constructive criticism always welcome. Are you a Leon Jackson fan by any fat chance?

  • You're an idiot. This guy is everything a musician should be.

  • The band I play in IS called 'The Essential Journey', a tribute to the band 'Journey'. And you are right about one thing, 'thegem', they are an excellent band. I'm only sorry you can't be convinced about the integrity of my work, maybe when I've done some more you'll relent.

  • This guy is no faker he plays keyboard for a tribute band called The Essential Journey check them out they are excellent.

  • Yes. Absolute pitch. And yes, I'm visually impaired but had surgery to improve it (I realize your question was rhetorical, but still ironic). The playing is not fake; when he hits an A in the song, it's an A on the keyboard, and likewise with everything else he is doing on the live parts. Everything else is prerecorded so he's not playing that part. It's obvious. The man is talented, and I wish I could do this the way he does.

  • he recored it first then played it other times on camera so he could get different angles, thats why its a little off synch.

  • Quite

  • This is excellent! Lynne/ELO fan since 1978 when I heard "Out of the Blue". (I hear a little "Phantom of the Opera" influence in this rendition. ;) )

For anyone who thinks this guy is faking, take it from this li'l housewife: he's definitely NOT. It's called pre-programmed MIDI sequencing (I use it myself, but not anywhere near as well!). I have an ear for this sort of thing, and the notes match exactly what he's doing. Wonderful... pleas do more!

  • heh heh! Fantastic... it is indeed one of their best tunes. :)

  • It's not fake, but he's pre-recorded things. But who cares, what a tune!

  • Very good.

  • "Believe Me Now" is my favourite ELO tune. And ELO is my favourite band. Your version is superb.. if I die before you, will you play this at my funeral? Please!

    Seriously though, good work, matey.

    YOU KNOW.. YOU KNOW!!!

  • A 286 did WHAAAAA...?!?

(checks to make sure neither leg is being pulled off)

  • Your leg isn't being tugged at but I must admit the PC in this video (with B&W monitor) is actually a PII, the 286 sadly died but it performed just as good as the PII seen here - honest!

  • I'm afraid my 8088 died a few years ago too - but it survived Y2K! Forget finding another BIOS chip for that! I very sadly hauled it and its orange-screened monitor to a recycling event held just for e-waste.

  • How do you know? Looks real to me, loser.

  • beautiful. long live to jeff lynne

  • Superb

  • Are there places where you can find tabs and chords published so you can play a groups music? I have not been able to find much out there to help with ELO or my other favorite group, Boston..

  • Excellent!! Im very jealous of trap0001. I wish I could play along with ELO like he is doing. I am starting to take guitar lessons, and guess what i am shooting for...

  • Queen? LOL, just kidding - good luck with the lessons and thanks for the comment.

  • exellent well played i love this track five stars from me

  • Whether or not he is playing along at the time of recording is irrelevant. he is clearly capable of playing the track. interesting equipment setup...

    good job.

  • Looks really real to me :), Great Job, always wanted that song to last longer.

  • its a fake i mean..

  • i mean its an feak, he make mistakes, but you don't hear. he played a completed midi-file without real playing. thats what i think.. check piraatzondernaam dot nl/?downloads and listen the Hitmix, thats real.

  • Cobblers. I MADE the MIDI files and I most definately DO play along. But you're entitled to your opinion all the same.

  • That's fantastic! I Love it!

  • I wouldn't believe if I wouldn't see it, great job and keep up with the good music., later!!

  • GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent ! Jolie mélodie, et très bien interprété. Bravo !!!

  • great work mate.

  • Very, very nice! A wonderful song wonderfully done!

  • Please contact me mate! absoulutely brilliant, I need your help on a King Arthur project I am working on. cheers.

  • Great rendition!!!

  • this is awsome man hows it going with more?

  • I'm working on a brand new sequence 'Daybreaker' but work commitments etc are causing me to drag my heels a little. Sorry. Should be done soon. Ish.

  • LOOK OUT Richard Tandy!! Very good interpretation well played

  • Very well done. I was just looking to see if there were any ELO piano clips on here. So far you're the only one. I'm coming up with my own solo arrangement of Mr. Blue Sky. Maybe I'll record and post it when I'm done. We need more ELO on here!

  • I love it! Please keep the elo instrumentals coming.

  • Sweetness!!! Good job.

  • Awesome! We used to do stuff like this. My friend would play keyboards and I'd sing... Good times!
