Be fair. Unlike the 80s, there's just a continuous overflow of trash ever since the early 90s, and worse every year since 1994. Of course, every now and again, something shines through like Goldfrapp, Ladyhawke, Keane, Hurts, Kamera and Tanxx. But compare that to the 80s when quality acts were popping up every month like flowers. Youth has nothing to do with it, all we need are our ears and eyes to tell us the quality margin of today is virtually nil. Beyond mainstream, though, can yeild, yes.

When was this released? I get the sensation that this was made after the new jack swing era in an attempt to "hark back" (remember) to the "good old days" when music was made with quality in mind, not fame. I'm not saying that people didn't want to be famous then, but it wasn't at the cost of the music.

Too bad there doesn't seem to be any video of Cathy singing this song. According to rumor, this song was going to be one of the tracks on her Inspiration album, which was never released.

In late 2007, the music press was reporting that Cathy was going to release her Sexcassettes album in Spring 2008. By Spring the press was reporting the date had shifted to late 2008. I suspect that date will move again into 2009.

I agree, I don't that Britney can't really sing too good, just a sex thing, still doesn't work on me lol. Cathy's much better :) In all areas really, there's no way Britney voice can match Cathy's. Cathy also has soul in her's. Oh well just the way it goes. But I'm sure Cathy will blow us fans away again :)

Glad you like it. At the bottom of the wikipedia page on Cathy there are a few sentences about her new band and a possible album release in 2008. If this happens it will be great for all the Cathy fans out there. Since she stopped releasing her own stuff she has continued doing backup vocals for others. Some say her voice is more prominent on Britney Spears "Toxic" than Britney. I would say Cathy adds to Britney on the main vocal, but you can easily identify her voice on the backup vocal.

Yeah I think I heard it was going to be released on the unreleased album. I really wish she would have released the album or at least released this as a single even if she wasn't happy with the rest of the album. But still Cathy is the artist at the end of the day and I know that she knows best :)

I actually have the Beverly Hills - The College Years soundtrack, I had to order it from America because I really wanted to hear S.O.S. :)

Well anyway I do think this is one of Cathy's best songs

I agree. Why this song got buried in the 90210 soundtrack album is baffling. Maybe it was destined for the (unreleased) Inspiration album since it would have matched the R&B/Hiphop style of that album. At least it should have been added to the Am I The Kinda Girl album. Looking forward to the rumored Sexcassettes release this year. Hope it happens.
