I did lunge him. He was being really pacey the entire time and right after this, I was in the warmup ring and he would take off every time another horse came near him. But thanks.
6 year old uh,i ride an eight year old barrel horse.people always tell me she is so "quiet"and"calm"but the three times i said "you get on and ride" the outcome was 1 adult got bucked off,and the other two got run away with.WE(real riders)make it look easy.

They forget the first time I sat on him he spent 45 min trying to go up when I asked him to go forward, he was that bad for even being led in from the field I'd wrap the rope around the gate because he was so used to running over people - Alot to be said for good horsemanship.
i had a feeling he was gaited! he was doing somthing similar to a running walk in some parts of the video. and he was doing a pacy trot. and then i saw under tags that hes a standerdbred :P
hey dont worry. he is jst spooky and excited. i am guesing e is quite gren and inexperienced. bt you ride him nice and calmly well done. have you tried other disciplines with him?
he did good bite your toung ! lol my standardbred is 6 as well she has no balance what so ever but shes come along way , he did awesome it always seems worse when youriding then when its on a video :P

The better option if you have a fresh horse is to space from the pack .. I don't know why you're showing him so fresh anyway.. seems a bit thick to me.

So learn the back story before criticizing. and one more thing, he was behaving like an angel before we went into the class. I'd really like to see you try to ride him better.

You're totally right that I have no background information and I don't know anything about this horse other than MY PERSONAL OPINION. So you need to back the fuck off, people will say things you won't agree with.

All my ex racing stbs get confused the first few times they see another horse in harness at a track --til they realise they have a new life. You did well not making a big deal of it and keeping his mind on the job.
or he's green and came off the track from pulling carts and he saw a horse pulling a cart outside the ring and thought he was supposed to pace. and the fact that the trailer he was in was too small and his back was sore also. i wasn't looking for criticism or help.

my trainer said "this horse hasen't bucked in years." but he bucked the first time i did not come off.
last weekend he bucked i stayed on.
I will never forget those words.
