  • Jimmi..I remember this place very well. I was talking to Scheebo from The Stilletos the other day ( who STILL lives right around the corner from ole CB'S . Though it is not the same neighborhood ) And we were talkin bout these days and Laughing Dogs came up somehow in the conversation. My friends Danny & Barbra opened the health food store there (Our Daily Bread I think ) in that building. That studio was a great room with so many people jammin there . Your favorite Park Slope dry cleaner...CK

  • CuzinK,

Thanks for the memories and local history!

  • @CuzinK I loved to have breakfast at OUR DAILY BREAD - w/ Durkin

  • Great times. this video captures a time in NYC that is so so long gone. the GBCB scene before it got outta hand and, uh, well, you remember the murals on the wall, the racetrack, yjr bathing beauties. I remember seeing the Laughing Dogs ( at convention hall and the Shirts there. I even made a bootleg cassette of the Shirts at the Fastlane ( and same with the Blondie show). those were the days. I found my way there from Patti Smith and then I could never leave. rIP Ron Ardito

  • Wayne,

    Thanx for the picturesque reminiscences!

  • Brother Karl, you ROCK this video!

    Lois

  • Great song,great band.

  • Great song!

  • I was the biggest fan of the Shirts after seeing them in the UK. I still remember writing to them at 435A 9th St Brooklyn ... as seen on TV! (Well, Youtube)

  • Yes, it's a historic house. I heard it's being used now as office space for a hospital or something.

    Thanks for commenting!

  • Damn, Jimmi!

Ya got the "more parks sausages maw" look on yer face with a touch of Harpo Marx tossed in. That's digustin'.

    Respect you even more now...

    Love, glen

  • Yikes!

    I mean Johnny DOOM!

    Pitiful eh?

    Doug

  • Doug, Johnny Doom was at the Laughing Dogs reunion show 6/24. But you'd better not call him that no maw.

  • Hey Dogs! You gents were the best...Any sign of Johnny Dome? I have been looking for years.

Love to Annie...Long live The Shirts and Laughing Dog shows! Great memories

    Doug Wall (Leesburg,Va)

  • Woops!

    That's Johnny Doom!

    Doug

  • Hey now wait a second, isn't the name of this song ZombieS ?

  • Yes Mr. Toothbrush; you are correct!

A mistake on the part of the Laughing Dogs.

    Boy, you certainly are perceptive!

But then do you know the answer to this question?

"Who is the guy who is standing in the doorway of the Shirts' house when Annie Golden gets an eyeful of umbrella?"

  • The guy with his hand on his belly ? He looks like a guy who lived across the street from me on Staten Island. But I have know idea who he is. Should I know ?

And is Mr. Carle wearing a Crazy Eddie's shirt ? If he is I gave him that er shirt.

  • This was so freakin awesome to see again after all these years......Park Slope, Shirts house..First floor studio....next 3 floors a maze of Shirts , Dogs, CBGB People,...spent lots of time makin music there....partying and of course Laughing..........Ronny

  • Hey Jimmi! It's awesome to see this stuff after all these years. My college radio buddies and I used to hang with you guys at the Rat back in the 70's. I still tell people about "Socks Turn to Shoes" and your "cover" of the Theme From The Exorcist. I still have my Joehead. I will always believe tha you guys deserved much better than you got.

  • farffir - Thanks for your comments, and for good times. There is actually a recording of the Dogs playing "Yes Yes No" at the Rat on the "Live In Concert" CD, and "When Socks Turn To Shoes" is on "The Laughing Dogs Live at CBGB's" CD on Molehill. A recording of the Exorcist material exists but is being held back for the "Laughing Dogs Banned in the USA" album. Thanks again, The Laughing Dogs

  • Oh Man! You guys are sick, wild, and totally crazy. I'm dying here from laughter. I love it. I can't believe this song wasn't a big hit. I'm ordering your cds. Thanks for the laughs, I needed it.

  • hey...if we do another party is wilson cloud chamber available....jimmy, thanks for your great work......alan

  • Hi Alan, Stay posted. A rare Wilson Cloud Chamber clip may be showing up soon.

    Jimmi

  • Jimmi, how about The Munsters or Addams Family theme songs ?

I saw the Dogs and Pat Benatar on halloween in New Haven 1979.

Second set all dressed for trick or treatin'.

    Auntie Em anyone ?

  • Hey, I remember that gig. On the second set, I was dressed as Dracula with some kind of adhesive in my mouth to hold the fangs in. Well the adhesive got all gooey as I started singing the first song and all this foam started drooling out of my mouth as I sang. People in the audience probably thought I was a real vampire or was spitting up bile!

  • You crazy man, that was great.

    Deb

  • Oh My God! These guys are crazy. This song is GREAT! Can't believe it never hit #1 on the charts. I love the idea of playing it on halloween. Just terrific, so funny!

  • Great

  • Poor Tom, OUCH !!!

I play this song in front of my house every halloween.

    Avirerderche

  • That looks like the hot Italian sausage to me!

  • No, I think it's the sweet.

  • just needs some peppers and onions for a nice hero! YUM!

  • That was absolutely hysterical!!! I love that song too.
