You're also better off going to a two-year community college. You can even transfer your credits on to a four-year-college. Besides actual job experience, employers want a degree from a recognized college or university. Also, these colleges won't accept transfer credits from these schools and these trade school degrees are worthless. Just like a regular college graduate, you'll be several thousand dollars in student loan debt. And you'll be paying it off for the rest of your life.
bobbyewing: Thank you for the compliment. You can really educate these people about this more than these TV commercials can.
I've been doing some research on the Internet about Sanford Brown. They have an ultrasound program but they want you to take the medical assistant program first. And besides, some of these places won't even hire graduates from there. They want actual on-the-job experience.
Thank you for "telling it like it is." People should do their homework first before signing up.
There's nothing glamorous and exciting about being a medical assistant. You have to draw blood, stick needles in these people, help the doctor with a patient, run the front office, and so forth.
Health care is not for everybody. They need to tell what being a medical assistant really is.
@nanlisa lol not only that, they need to tell you about the limited job market. X-Ray techs like me who are also venipuncture certified, certified to do injections, and have training in back office work will always get hired over MAs because I'm not only as qualified as them, but I obviously can take X-Rays and know more about Radiology than a doctor does. I don't understand why these colleges keep on pressing these MA programs like they're the best career field to get into. XT is the way to go
