  • Just learned more from this video than I did in 3 days of class

  • Now I'm ready to take my Calc II test in a couple of hours :). Thanks

  • I told my class about you and we got an immediately improvement. The teacher wasn't very happy though :P

  • @occasional4 why wasnt the teacher happy?

  • sweet Jesus. You are a calculus god.

  • @likenowwayy no, not at all :) but thanks!

  • in this problem upper boundary is infinity , why we have to take a limit "t" for?

  • You are a life saver. Simple, Clear, and Concise. I learn so much more from your videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to make all of these videos. Much appreciated and I will make sure to recommend your videos to everyone

  • @ZMclovinFan64 glad i could help you out a bit. a big 'THANKS' for telling your friends about them

  • thanks man ;)

  • I have an exam tomorrow, and watching this video (without sound) clarified the concept for me.

You write just enough of the material for me to grasp what my Prof has taught. (It also helps that your a lefty, cause then I can see myself writing it out, the reason why I muted the video)

  • Why are you not partner?!

  • lefty

  • So how many classes do you cover for a typical engineering degree?

  • I hope you cover my future engineering math classes!

  • everytime i do my calculus test, i hear your voice in my head telling me what to do :p

  • @laluxe1 ha ; )

  • i love you!

  • well, I have a Calc teacher who A. doesn't explain anything... and B. Takes 2 weeks to grade an exam...

  • Thanks! You completed my fundamental mathematical understanding of this topic.

  • i would like to extend my thanks . true enough u are better then alot lecturer and teacher even in university .

im currently study in NTU but u are the best by far .

i will work hard to be someone like you . THank you .

By the way do u accept cash /donation for showing gratitude? i believe alot others would like to do so .

any other address to send u gift/thankgiving card etc

  • @yongcai85 just tell your friends about the videos. that is thanks enough : )

  • you deserve my tuition.

  • I get so confused in my AP calculus class, thanks for clearing this up for me!

  • PatrickJMT is better than batman.

  • Your videos are awesome, patrick. How much money do you make from making them? Because you deserve buckets and buckets of cash for every single one of them.

  • I love your handwriting. So refreshing after bearing with my cal teacher's chicken scratches x.x

  • @sesshyro haha that comment made my day. we all know exactly what you mean :P

  • So is it legal to be that awesome :)

  • Thank you for your hard work in putting countless hours into making these videos. Hopefully I can pull above a 60 on this next calc II test. It's not the concepts that get me, it's the algebra/identities/trig stuff/exponentials/logarithms/old stuff I should know that gets me.....

  • very helpful, thanks.

  • thank you so much sir. calc II is attempting to kick my ass. glad to have u by my side.

  • This video doesn't seem to be on your website

  • @JoanieAtwater many are not

  • You are a god. Thank you.

  • I go to a highly ranked engineering school and you teach this stuff better than any professor Ive had thus far! Thank you so much!!!!

  • @Th3Capitalist glad i could help!

  • It's ridiculous how clear you make this. Thanks!! =D

  • U INDERSTAND SO SO MUCH THAN ANY TEXTBOOK....

PATtie, saying i love you is an under-statement...please are you singLE?

LOL thanks a lot 4 sowing into lives...God will multiply your knowedge..:)

  • @oatinukeable ha, TAKEN! : )

  • @oatinukeable what part of UK ? i am in london now! : )

  • wow, thanks patrick!you help me a lot to understand this topic!btw,do you have any video about gamma function or beta function?

  • is there any method we could measure INTEGRAL from 0 to inf of 1/x^2? cause the limit of the antiderivative (-1/x) to zero is infinity, however the graph looks convergent. do you get the point?

  • Is an improper integral the same as an indefinite?

  • @DominoChild no. indefinite integral doesn't have a limit. definite integral has a limit (a, b).

improper integral has a limit, but one of the limits (a or b) goes to infinite OR both (a and b) go to infinite.

in this example the limit is (1, ∞)

  • your voice sounds different here were you younger?

  • Nice video. Keep them coming.

  • Gotta say your videos and explanations are great. I'm having to learn Calc 2 in 4 weeks and on week 3. Your videos are a valuable tool to my success. Thanks for the hard work you put into these

  • <3 you man

  • watching these videos > going to class. ANYDAY.

  • I wish I'd known about these videos BEFORE the end of the math semester...

  • amazing thanks !

  • Iono about other people, but I hope you get money for your videos because everytime I watch them, I click on the advertisements.

  • @fadcAuTra : )

  • @fadcAuTra i do, so keep up the hard work : )

  • this makes sense!!! thanks.....professor!!!

  • I just wanted to say thank you very much! I have been utilizing your videos during my last couple math classes and they have been an amazing supplement. I appreciate all the videos, their clear explanations, the use of examples, the step by step, and the conciseness of the videos.

  • thank you for your videos, you are really a great teacher

  • They call him Patrick, "The Great".

  • great explanation - clarified a lot of misunderstanding

  • This video is brilliant not only does it teach the method but the reasoning behind why are we doing. But what practicality or real life appplications does this have. Is it like measuring the effects of gravity from an infinte distance

  • @southpawking1 it has tons to do with probability - so in real life, this stuff has to do with how much you pay for car insurance.

  • First of all, thank you for making Calculus so much easier to under stand.

Based off these videos, have you recieved any offers to teach the subject? It would be a crime if you haven't. Lol.

  • cal poly pomona loves you!

  • Thanks Patrick. I was so lost when my professor explained it, but now I understand. You're a great teacher, keep it up man :]

  • Thank you soooo much for your videos! I would be failing Calc 2 now if it wasn't for you!!! :)

  • can you PLEASE apply to be a professor at Georgia tech?!??!!

  • woah ur voice changed compared to ur later vids

  • I hope google pays you well because this is solid stuff! I would pay you but.....no no i wouldn't. Thanks for all the help.

  • PLEASE BE MY INSTRUCTOR!

  • awesome! thanks a lot :D you make it look easy haha.

  • any chance you will be doing any physics video with complex stuff? looked on khan academy, but hes only useful up until gr.12. =/

  • You have excellent handwriting

  • Wow, I learned more in this 6 minute video than I did in an hour and a half lecture during class. You are amazing.

  • Thank you for your simple explanations good sir!

  • haha you were gona say "eventualy , t gets way the F**k over there" at min 2:27

    haha

  • Hey Patrick, I like Khan and all, but do you think youll soon have an iphone app?

  • @iandenaro i am hoping to soon yes ; )

  • @patrickJMT oh please do :) i'll buy an iphone right away!

  • I'm a Cal student and you have no idea how much easier it is to understand your explanations compared to that of my professor and my GSI.

  • @Zhero06 well, keep watching then : )

  • this helped a lot, keep up the good work!

  • Wow, I am impressed, Mr. PatrickJMT

  • this is how you teach calculus. Thank you sir.

  • I enjoy your hand font. Very nice!

  • youre awesome man

  • I was just wondering at what level do your schools in your country teach this stuff at?

In Singapore our school start teaching this at secondary 4 or after that? That would be 16-17 years olds

  • you really are the bomb! taking calculus 2 over an 8 week summer course has sucked but couldn't have done it without you

  • You make this learning process so easy, thanks!

  • Why use the limit? You can just evaluate at infinity and it's the same answer.

  • @elfmotat think about it..would you rather want to solve hard integrals bounded by 1 to infinity, or would you rather want to plug a variable for infinity and then send the variable towards infinity? i go for the latter, it makes the integral less threatening in my opinion, although the results are the same

  • @elfmotat

This is the basic method for doing improper integrals. And trust me, a lot of people would find lim1/t^2 a lot less daunting than 1/infinity^2. Unless you can tell me what that equates to?

  • over this summer of taking calc 2, you have been like a dad, well step dad, to me--so heres to you patrick, happy father's day!!

  • thanks man, integral calc test at 8AM and this was one of the best explanations I have seen for improper integrals...wish this stuff came to me easier, but I just have to beat my head against it and pass for my CS and geology majors is all

  • you should get paid for your videos. I have a test tonight for an online calc class, and your videos have helped me study more than anything. thanks for all your hard work

  • agradeceria por favor

    subtitules in english....

    thanks....col.

  • never knew the difference between convergent and divergent until i watched this video! nice work!

  • Thank you sooo much for all your help! Im in college in NYC and your helping me pass calculus 2...your the best!

  • Hey Patrick, spread the knowledge, I really appreciate that, thank you very much from Brazil :-)

  • @edilsonbrakiara glad u like what i am doing : )

  • My friend is in AP Calculus BC and he had to do this stuff. He has a 98 in there, he's a genius!

  • Patrick, again THANK YOU!! very helpful, great explanation, thanks for taking the time to do this and explain.

  • thanks for the vids....got my AP exam for Calc BC or Calc 2 and I got 3 weeks to study....ur vids are really helping out....gonna watch all that I need to hopefully pass...")

  • your voice sounds a little higher in this video

  • @michaelikel helium

  • but this is not the asymptote right?

  • you're amazing! your handwriting is the best and you make math more understandable ,than my calc teacher who has been teaching math for 30 years!!!

  • thank you

  • amazing, this is just great . ty!

  • Thanks so much, your videos help me so much. You explain everything clearly and makes everything much easier.

  • i like how i can see you write every step;my prof. blocks the board when she writes..it's annoying.

  • so change seats...

  • it doesn't matter where i sit..it just depends on what side of the board she's writing on;it would be pointless to change seats b/c i would still have the same problem.i just have to wait until she's done with the problems, then i copy them.

  • @21sweetea fail post is fail.

  • Dude, thank you! Maybe now I can make an A on my calc test tuesday

  • I love you

  • Such a compete set of comprehensive videos.

    My math grade thanks you.

    You are the shit JMT!

    - Keep it up.-

  • praise you my friend

  • your a legend Patrick

    thanks man

  • you should go on a teaching tour and stop by gatech. because you are awesome. :D

  • you explained this much better than my professor. thanks!

  • patrik you are such a baller

  • Thanks a lot, man. You're videos have been really helpful as I don't pay the greatest attention in class. I pay much more attention here, keep it up! :)

  • Muchas gracias! me quedo perfectamente claro! pense que eran mas dificiles pero no =) se agradece

  • ET SAV LAEHCIP NORBAC XD

  • Much thanks from MIT! You should definitely be my professor you make a lot more sense

  • @tommyfroman ha, MIT would not touch me with a ten foot pole i am sure

  • i love you

  • Hey ! Nice how is it.... I go to NEU... You ??

  • Hello ! This is the first comment I ever write in Youtube. The only reason why i got the account was so I can Thank you for your time, and knowledge for those who struggle with these material. I am in a good University in Boston taking Calculus 2, and no teacher is like you !!! Thank you.

  • I'm in a good University in Boston too and taking Calculus 2.

    :)

  • @Asphedal whenever i visit boston, u both have to take me out for a beer

  • @patrickJMT You guys should have a Sam Adams. It's brewed locally and tastes awesome

  • @511Freedom thanks for going to all the trouble just to make a comment on my vids : ) glad that you like them

  • Very clear and to the point, and easy to follow. You make this fun, as it should be. I wish I had seen math as a wonderful tool to explore science, rather than drudgery. Even the abstraction is interesting in your presentations. Thank you!

    -Bob

  • thank you dude :D

  • soooo clear!!!

if only my proffs could teach like you!

  • you are incredible thank you so so much for making these videos these are saving me!

  • nice job bro

  • thanks you too much man, you don't know how I was confusing about it.

    Have agood live ever.

  • I love this guy man.

  • You have the penmanship of the Gods.

  • Test in 33 hours. These videos are life savers for some last minute review or cramming!

  • Wow that last comment about knocked me off my chair!

  • patrick, what do you look like?

  • i look like my picture

  • @ImbecilicMoron geeky, nerdy, with a face that only a mother could love

  • @patrickJMT

yet u still watched the vid LOL

  • Will you marry me? You make this so easy to understand. You truly have a wonderful gift. Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us!

  • When it comes to math you are definately my hero. The day before my calc quizes I always watch your videos on the subject material. I wonder if my kids or grand kids will continue to use your vids lol

  • hahh who knows?! : )

that is the thing about math: these videos will be just as applicable one hundred years from now as they are right now!

  • I think I love you man, thanks for the help. lol

  • if i had known you at the beginning of my ap calculus course, id have been getting b's instead of c's. your extremely gifted at teaching. granted, my last quiz is the first quiz i have used you to study and i got a 56, but i think it would have been a lot lower without your help. thanks.

  • hate you for being so smart but thanks for help))

  • @OleLukoeje less smart, more hard working

  • haha i think almost everyone watching this goes to U of Michigan lol. They like to rape you with calc don't they? haha.

  • No no no, an integral and a limit is NOT the best of both worlds... but you do make it much easier! Thank you so much. Seriously I go to the University of Michigan and my calc 2 class is so ridiculously hard and i am so happy i found your videos - i don't know what i would do otherwise!

  • glad to help : )

    good luck in the class!

  • Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • subscribed!

  • wow \0/

  • good

  • great job

  • i understood all of it but why did the limit t to 0 become x to 0 then become t to 0 again

  • ops, you are right, it should remain t-->0 every time! i made a mistake! thanks!

  • good job

  • great job!
