He warned he repeatedly to get back. If anybody else like I don't know a regular aged person did the same thing he/she would probably get tased and nobody would care. The police officer can't treat anybody different because of their age. This lady broke the law and the police officer had no choice but to subdue her. What would have been better to do? Tackle her, or even shove her hard to the ground or cruiser? This was just a mild shock that subdued her with out seriously injuring her.

No I'm not. The American justice system can't treat anyone differently because of their age. This women was obviously not so old that she could not comply with the officer's order. She put more people in danger by going 15 mph over the legal sped limit. He warned her multiple times and she still didn't get back. He could have caused more damage to her like internal bleeding, by using physical force like a hard shove to the ground or the hood or maybe even a tackle. Then to top it off she lied.

The cop could have just given her the ticket and then went back to her house and arrested her for contempt of court, if she did not follow the instructions on the ticket. He helped turn a traffic citation into a criminal offense by his own idiotic behavior coupled with hers. Did he think she would be happy with a work zone ticket?

Very True,!! In T.N. once they have all your information, they can come pick you up if you don't meet your court date. If you don't sign, they put down in report, "Refusal to sign". You go to court, pay the ticket and possibly a additional fine for refusing to sign and that ends it there.

If she doesn't sign the warrant, the only alternative is jail. The officer should have walked her to the cruiser and placed her in the back and either let her blow off some steam and calm down, or simply arrest her. Instead, 6-foot officer felt he had to get into a pissing match with an old lady. It wasn't about what she deserved, it was about his ego. If he lost his cool with Granny, what's he going to do when something real goes down. Total fail.
