  • This message is very much in regards to how many people in the Bujinkan feel about themselves. They form a cult of personality about themselves, and go from there. This is the case in many martial arts. I am not saying this is the case with Mr. Kacem, however I will say many people in the martial arts world feel this way, from traditional arts all the way to MMA. By the way, the video is hillarious.

  • OK, this IS hilarious. It's also so very wrong.

Again, this could be about anyone and still be funny.

  • If you can do better ,show me..!!!

    youtube.com/watch?v=1PCRtl_N0lA

  • @kucan100

The link doesn't work. But no reason to defend Kacem. He doesn't do it either.

He even LOVES this "Dr. Kazoom" stuff! :)

  • @kenninast

Sounds like you know him.. No, I don't think he likes it. and he needs

no defense..from me or anyone else. And please show me who is better.. thanks.

  • @kucan100

Yups, I know him a slight bit.

He finds the Kazoom clips very funny he said on a seminar. And it wasn't a fake laugh. :)

He also said it was silly that the people who made it hide behind an anonymous nick, as if he'd go and do things like sue them or beat them up.

And show you someone who's better? Especially within the Bujinkan I cannot even fathom how to find someone better than him.

But I know nothing of some cult-like stuff about him. He's just an amazing martial artist.

  • Kazoom dude I never heard of. I met and train under people like Andrew Young, Mike Pierce, Mark Agosotino, James Morganelli, Keith out of Ohio and other Shihan from the late 70s or 1980-82 that started their training. These young guys in the bujinkan 95-96 guys train to soft. I train old school! I strongly believe bujinkan guys go to soft now I believe once you trained hard over the years then u can go soft but u cant understand soft if you've never trained hard.

  • @maceioninjutsu I Trained from 1982 we were hard as nails I got attacked working on the door aged 25 (1985) by a ABA Boxing champ I was a 3rd kyu and I kicked his ass! now 52 6th Dan Shidoshi with MS for 16 years I still train hard /soft 50/50

  • @gekiryudojo and thats fine you trained hard from 1982 and deserve to now train soft because you know how it feels. Imagine if you only trained soft 100% and started out like that. Hummm I wonder...

  • comedy show, man. I have to give it to him, lol.

  • LOL the end part is just priceless!

  • I'll Go and Train and Train over and over and Over Again Because I am a Real Bujinkan Ninja. and I have this Spirit!

  • Jealousy can become an all-consuming emotion for some, this is almost certainly the case for poor old jtarranto. I'm guessing you resolve to challenge went the same way as your path in budo.

  • lmfao. This is great!

  • So, what's the result, did you go and challenge him? Or did you give up on your full intention?

  • I watched the video, and I have a tiny bit of a criticism. From about 1:08 on you use the fact that Kazoom received government grants as a way to discredit the work he put into his book(The amount of which, I don't know; I'm not really involved in the Bujinkan controversy; I'm more into Historical European Martial Arts). That's not really a good argument to make. The fact is, huge amounts of research are funded through grants. In some fields, most research is funded in this way.

  • @HereTheArtBegins

If we discredit any work that uses grants, we'd have to discredit an unacceptably large amount of the research out there. Most "basic"(Read; Theoretical) scientific research, for example, is funded via grants; especially government grants. The fact is, if you're doing concentrated research you're by definition not doing anything "productive" like teaching; you're researching. I don't really see how him receiving a grant for his work is a bad thing.

  • @HereTheArtBegins

Working while you're doing research actually degrades the quality of the work; which is why researchers often take extended time off from their normal jobs /to/ do the research. Ironically, the fact he got a grant can actually be beneficial to his career because a lot of grants are based upon competition; different scholars compete with one another to get the funding they require; it isn't simply handed out, depending on the specific grant and how much it is.

  • @HereTheArtBegins

Additionally, I don't see how being paid to do research discredits the research or the work itself; that's basically like someone saying, "Wow, look at Michaelangelo's David; can you imagine spending all that time carving such a life-like statue?" and someone else saying "If someone paid me to, sure. Nothing special really." It's a fact of life that most people get paid for their work. Keep in mind, I'm not saying Kazoom's work is on par with this, it's just an illustration.

  • Research is itself a struggle; being paid to do it doesn't make it easy. For example, If you have a criticism of the /kind/ of research he did, that's fine, but it's a completely different argument. Again, I'm not agreeing with the Bujinkan here, or saying that your criticism of Kazoom in general is wrong; just that I think one of your arguments isn't really a good one. I hope you give this a read over, and have a good day!

  • You are wrong lol long live brown dog

  • Well I've been to two of his seminars since this video was uploaded, and in both cases he's jokingly referred to himself as "Dr. Kazoom." He is very open to anyone challenging his skill, that is one of the major points of martial arts after all...

  • 3:37

    THATS WHAT SHE SAID!

  • hahaha how small and pathetic person you have to be to make this kind of video??? If you don't like someone, don't spend your time on this kind of bullshit. better spend your time on practicing the art...and if you didn't notice btw, this way you just making him bigger and stronger, as a member of his little cult, I thank you for that. ;)

  • I don't know this guy lavender but i wish I did he must be pretty good for you to make such a jealous dumb ass of yourself hahaha.

  • Awwww, it's so cute when Kazoom's little cult members come out to defend him. Love it. And for those of you urging me to challenge him, no dramas, I fully intend to when I return to the States and happen upon one of his seminars. Hopefully someone will have a video camera when I plant him into the ground. :)

  • @jtarranto Are u talkin about Kacem?? That would be really funny n entertaining.LOL But if u kicked his ass at a seminar..U no his drones would wanna come after u...Depending on how many are there..That shouldn`t be a problem...With 4 good fighters u could take on 100bujinkan memebers...All u have 2do is when u go2 punch them just pull ur arm back..That will fuck em up...LOL Cause there used2 the attacker standing there after they punch..LOL I`m ex bujincon myself so I no whats up.LOL

  • @computron808 the bujinkan have over 150 000 members to date, i wouldnt pick a fight if i were any of you, even if you think they actually cant fight, some of them can, ive seen it myself and i come from chinese MA and muay thai, trust me, you could NOT take 100 of their students with 4 of any martial art....

  • @jtarranto Vancouver BC in April--- see you there, if you dare

  • @vhtaylor3 Toronto, Ontario in March --- I'll be there, bou likely to learn rather than put my foot in my mouth.

  • It's good to be critical, but something else to be mindless. He will not fight you, because you are probably one of those people, who'd sue his opponent should you get beaten. Anyway, this is not ancient times, when people could challenge anyone and fight to death. The ring has it's own limits and rules, and no bujinkan follower would battle in the ring, i Think, although some soke-s have. You are missing the great picture. He does not force others to follow him. He helps those who want so.

  • I don't know about this Doctor Kazoom person, but think Kacem Zoughari is pretty inspiring...

  • It is really funny to see that Kacem is so important for you that you use your time to make such a video... ;-)

He is great and practice with him is the best for me. You talk about the attacks and the distance, because it´s different, BUT IT WORKS!

And he knows what he is talking about.

You better should use your time for the practice.

The topic here is that he is a maker and not a talker like some other people here...

People who talk about him like this don`t know him. I do and I thank him

  • Show me someone , anyone that is at the same level or greater than Kacem is. Then you can talk. But I have yet to find anyone that is close to his knowledge and skill. Oh! and I have been one of his attackers, I do give very realistic attacks. I agree, many talk about him, with not even meeting or seeing him. You should see for you own eyes before you post crap such as this.

  • Words of hatred from one hidden behind a pig avatar. Ridiculous. You obviously never met the man in actual life. You should try to do that : talk to people.

  • HES ACTUALLY CERTIFIED TO DO SO!!! SO SAY WHAT YOU WANNA SAY ...YOULL NEVER GET TO HIS LEVEL OF EXPERTISE

  • nice

  • omg..hilarious

  • hahaahaa! lol'd my ass great stuff

  • mmhhh

    the realistic fashion

    nothing to do with kacem

you will find this everywhere in the bujinkan

he is just one who uses short distance

  • LMAO!

  • That was too funny. There is always truth in jest....

  • ?!?!!? Wtf?!?! Loool.

Somebody please explain this video to me....

  • lol rediculious, but funny, nice video

  • Bujinkan member here, I freikin lol'd. Love the videos!! I will be practicing my natural release iaido this very evening!
