Someone related to me is a self described liberal; when I asked her if she's read the US constitution, she "advised" me that it was full of vagueries and suggested that it was "kind of like the bible" - suggesting that it was essentially imponderable to an average person, and failed to be clear and specific in it's purpose and intent. - in other words - she never read it.

@ObiWanShinobi1 One of the striking things about the Constitution is its plainness (with the possible exception of the 12th amendment). There are a lot of folks who have misconceptions about the Bible as well. Typically, they, like your "self-described liberal" friend, have not read it. I'm hoping this series will inspire more folks to do so.

@ScrappleFace I replied in somewhat similar terms (that it's implicitly clear and can still be easily understood with a dictionary at hand)- something strange happens with people who have shut their minds when you have a coherent answer - the mental short circuit taking place in the wetware behind their eyes is visible as they utterly fail to ingest or process the response. I hope those people who are internally embarrassed by their ignorance find the courage to revise their premises as needed

PJTV: I hate to differ and this series is no doubt very interesting, but I think it would be more helpful for you guys should look at the Con law pre and post- 1937 (i.e., the FDR court packing threat). This is the heart of the issue we face today, and since we (mostly) all learned it wrong in our grade/middle/high school US history course, I suspect that most of the US fails to understand the changes that occurred in '37+ and their impact today. That may be a bit more helpful.
