  • @pawnt1 that is a kick serve

  • That is not a kick serve

  • awesome kick serve dude.

  • very good kick but its better if u kick to the backhand because it throws them off. If someone kicks to my forhand i jump on the ball and smash it back on the rise

  • good serve

  • good serve and technique. i think you could use a little more legs and try to get more rotation with your shoulders

  • beautiful serve man, hats off to you

  • damn son. for your age back then your serve was good as shit. cant imagine how good it is now

  • i can't do that i been practicing

  • dont drop your left arm to fast, my coach keeps telling me this always, when you drop it to soon you have more probabilities of hitting the ball behind your head , what will make your serve to be long or to go straight to the net, also if you drop the left arm exactly when it should be you will have more rotational energy creating more pace and more topspin, nice serve!

  • nice contact, great takeback. I like it that you've also waited for t he ball to drop a little bit before you swung at it.

  • mine is better :D

  • that was really good i think. though its slow, but im sure it'll get faster over time and after more practise. darn just how much top spin was in that..went all the way up.. :O

  • Pretty good serve.. nice motion. You can improve that by using your legs more. Bend your legs a bit and launch yourself -kinda like exploding towards the ball according to your swing.

    Anyhow... your kicker is good.

  • Oh, and perfect technique. your back scratch is like the pros, just need to use more of the legs.

  • MAHUUUSIVE FULT FAULT. and were is the use of legs?

  • not bad but it's pretty abreviated. try extrending more into the ball

  • that's awesome serve and you are still young too. your serve will be fast as fuck when you develop more muscle

  • foot fault.

  • that looks like pacifica high school.. am i right?

    by the way, crazy kick!

  • the slow mo was like a gun that was fired. lol

  • Try a continental grip. who do you think you are? Boris Becker? Serena says it best. Serve me one of those and I will slam it down your throat.

  • @dura1mater u have commented the very same thing on another kick serve video... what the hell are u, a kick serve critic? I HIGHLY doubt that you could hit a kick serve like that at his age, so just shut up. Also, Serena can talk when SHE can do a kick serve that well.

  • @181erob I wonder if you can gain back all the time you spent researching my comments. Good job! Thanks for being my personal secretary. You want flowers or chocolates? Or maybe you do your best work under my desk.

  • good motion kid. jump higher and elevate more with your left leg. with this being shot 4 yrs ago, you probably already got leg muscles developed to throw wicked junk on the ball now.

  • Wow man how do you kick serve? I can't seem to get the pronation of kick serves

  • Good kick serve! It was up over his shoulders!

  • good serve

  • yo man - not bad kick on that serve!

just watch your right hip in your motion though...you don't bring it all the way through - your right leg is basically back at the point of contact...I KNOW I KNOW, everyone is a critic but you have good racquet head speed and if you accelerate your right hip ALL the way through the motion - you'll have better kick on it

  • thanks man. i like it when people give me advice. a lot of people here are looking at this 15 year old and saying shit about his (my serve). im 19 now, ive fixed that problem. playing number 4 at roanoke college.

  • that's whats up man.. i played some D1 uni tennis - good luck at conference!

  • @gwg112233445566 good for you man!!

  • Like aceyourface said dont serve it there, unless your playing a lefty, but overall it looks nice

  • he is a lefty im serving to his backhand

  • @gwg112233445566 lol y tha fuq r people goin negative that guys comment, it is very tru of what he said...yes ur rite he was left handed but not all players r left handed

  • @gwg112233445566 but what if your like me and have an amazing backhand =[

  • @aceyourfaceloser:

really, you'll eat it up huh?? good advice on placement, but that serve had good pace and a great kick. very little time to set up a powerful forehand if your playing high percentage tennis. unless he puts it in that same spot on every serve. and judging by his serve i'm sure he is not that stupid.

  • @legendofakira yep im sure youre right

  • @legendofakira lol yes you're right im sure just was trying to be helpful

  • @aceyourfaceloser shut up

  • @aceyourfaceloser lol u got wasted

  • Looks really good

  • Yay, now I can get mine to kick five feet compared to four feet a few monthes ago.

  • lol

  • Amazing, I can only get mine to kick about four feet.

  • did that guy hit the serve back over?

  • How old are you ?

  • nice serve!

  • Not bad. I can do kick serves but they barely go in lol

  • Should you be using continental grip for the kick serve as well? Not the master of serves, but i do want to learn this . I'm not even holding continental right yet, ill go google up some pics or vids on the correct way.

  • Eastern backhand. If you can't even hold continental, don't try the kick. Master the flat and slice first o.0

  • yes sir! Yeah ive been flat servin my life life but not usin continental, so im still getting that down since its hard to break a habit at this point.

  • LeafVillltachi, Hi there i may be able to help you with this serve, i use continental grip 4 this serve, to find grip put racket in non playing hand like a borrow arrow and pinch down to the grip with playing hand or do shake hands way to find up to you, lift the ball back over your head bend your knees to help you arch your back then contact ball from 7 oclock to 1 oclock to generate the spin, reli flick rist into ball to help. Good luck.

  • o i think i got continental grip somewhat down but thank you for that. Just need to practice to improve it.

  • Yes, continental.

  • for high school kids, that's hell of a first serve

  • Not really, if you practice like I do xD

I'm kinda......addicted to Tennis so yeah.

  • lol, then u would beat me

i cant return fast and high ball XD

  • Well...Why not?

Is it your reaction or stance or something? :o

  • well, one, im not really tall, so for balls that go over my shoulder, i cant hit a decent return (i can hit it back though)

two, if the ball is too fast, i have to slice it cuz i have a long "short-backswing" lol

and when i slice, it often goes out or really high

still working on my short back swing to pick up drops and volleys.

  • Ah I had that problem a year ago too, the slicing one where it goes too high.

You're probably holding your racket too horizontal...ermm...in other words, too flat.

A 45 or 50 degree should be fine to get a decent spin, if you swing your racket all the way out :] And I think I know what you mean on short backswing. Like you don't slice it all the way, and stop as soon as you think the ball leaves the sweet spot right? Well can't say anything bout that.

If it's too high, you can feint a chip :]

  • well, i dont really slice all the way. i just position the racket in slicing angle and push it back. the motion is similar to a backhand volley

    but w/e

ima get a coach soon ^^

  • I don't really get whatchur trying to say xD

    But anyways, good :3

Getting a coach is always helpful...

    Something I didn't have =.=

Foster parents can be such betches D:<

  • can I see your 1st serve??? Because I'm working on my 1st serve down the T (I can only ace out wide so people start expecting it) and I really want to see a fast one in slow motion! Plz post it! And if you do I'll be really really thankful.

  • I'll try to post mine, but there really isn't much to learn...and I really don't think anyone other than me can complete the style I created. But I'll certainly message you when I find a decent camera. Let's stay in contact :]

  • Look at his body closely guys. He's not using his thigh enough. Just plainly counting on your upper arm isn't enough: If your thigh muscles and your arm was to have an arm restle, who do you think will win? Your thigh of course. It's the key to a high speed serve, no matter what kind.

  • He's not going for a high speed serve though, it's a second serve kicker. I think the speed was about right.

  • Well I don't really know what he was going for,>.>

But if I was in a match with him, that'd be a return ace for sure.

  • Well in my club level world that's a pretty good second serve. I'm pretty happy when I can hit them like that.

  • Oh. Is it a highschool club?

Cause I watch mine all the time and all I see them doing are flat serves.

  • You up the arm more faster than the ball try to your hand up more later than the ball... my serve speed is 89 mph i am only 13 years old xD

  • im 14 and my serves are in like 95-100...

  • I'm 14 too :] but I'm in pro class so mine are 100+ usually.

Though I've never actually used the speed gun to measure it, other than one time. And my kick serves have a....really weird bounce to it. For me, it's practically a reverse top spin. So it kinda bounces to the opposite direction, but not by a lot.

  • That's not possible. Cause that's too far beyond the human body's bounderies. Unless of course you're taking steroids. But if it really was that high, may I have your name? I can search you up. Have you signed 'the' contract? You would know what I'm talking about if you really got that high.

  • that is not possible in any way O_O even the pros dont serve that hard unless they're roddick

  • go die

  • 89 is only my average second serve -_- i;m 14

  • good arc on the back. you can see it all in slomo

  • not bad...but 20-30 mph to slow

  • his left harm doesnt last enough long to aim well the ball and to avoid the "décentrage"

  • some of you critcize his serve, but a lot of you can't even hit one this well, let alone at all. This is an awesome kick serve.Good clearage, awesome dip,and good kick.Awesome kick serve, man.

  • Even though you are right it's actually a good serve, what would them nothing being abel to play better have to do with their answers?

I have great reasons to think knowledge is different than action. Roddick's coach isn't an ATP pro and he yet was able to teach him things.

The matter is to point problems and solve them so it gets as perfect as possible. Encourage him, yes; but don't hide his issues. Rather highlight them so he gets better.

  • @ImixProd I totally agree... this is a very decent kicker.

  • i have a kick and and flat serve trying to learn twist my frend showed me it was sick :P

  • haha massive

  • podrias hacer u gesto mas entretenido

  • you dont have any video to prove that

  • the american twist will mess up ur back in the long run i wouldnt do it stick with slice kick and flat

  • to mpipandaboi

how can the american twist hurt your back? the kick is almost the same but its just hitting the ball at a different angle.

  • I like that serve, it's cool. Working on it myself, but mine still blows.

  • NICE SERVE. You should really try using your legs though.

  • one thing aim to the right side of the service box for a kicker because otherwise it bounce right, back to the middle area.

  • Actually you serve great.

What you should practice on is your leg power .

also the body rotation... you hardly rotate your hips and shoulders .

and finally toss needs to be higher and you should let the ball drop a bit and then hit it for greater spin .

  • haha at the end the dude was probably

    like''what the hell"'!

    haha nice serve.

    are you suppose to topspin?

    or slice the ball.

  • Hi guys im not saying that im good or anything like that, but i know how to kick the serve.

A normal kick serve just high to the right (to opponents backhand)

There also is a americain twist kick serve that jumps up high to the right(if opponent is lefty, jit will go to his backhand).

  • Actually, the American twist is the one that curves left and bounces high in the opposite direction. The "American Twist" that you're talking about, (the one where it kicks high to a lefty's backhand) is VERY VERY difficult, if not impossible. The "American Twist" you are talking about is brushing the ball from 4 o clock to 7 o clock if the server is a righty. Unless the server has an arm at the back of his neck, it would be pretty impossible to execute that serve.

  • i can do the twist serve it isnt tht hard.

  • Yeah, it aint that hard. But the guy I replyed to said of an impossible serve. Twist serve if righty curves left and bounces right. He said of a serve that (when righty) curves right and bounces left.

  • oh lol srry, I didnt know

  • It's all good dude. I think the guy has an arm on his back. xD

  • I'm pretty sure it's a possible serve because I think I've done it. instead od bringing your armout and into your body like curling your wrist into your body you ..... hmmm it's hard to explain but.... instead of hitting the right side of the ball as you serve you hit the left. lol I can't think of a better way to explain it. =)

  • Even if it's possible, nobody does that on the pro tour. It's not even a fundamental serve yet LOL.

  • Yeah. I was just trying to explain how I think it might be done. lol. It would be much easier to chow than explain though.

  • retard... it has been around since the begining of pro tennis...

  • I know what a kick serve or twist serve is. If you read the comments properly you would understand what we're talking about..

  • serv is my biggest problem in tennis, do u got some tips for me? thx ps: realy nice simple kickserv

  • Nice

  • ....

can ya shut the fuck up.

    it was a nice kick.

    yeah his technique wasn't like

rogers or as powerful as roddick's.

    but it fucking KICKED.

and no it does not have to bounce towards the face.

usually just bounce weird and high.

    gawd....play tennis for fun dammit.

    HAVE A NICE DAY :D

  • I'm learning the kicker right now and just wow...

    tips?

  • wow slice serves don't kick that high idiot. It was definitley a kick serve..

  • it did

  • nice return...

  • ..lol

  • omg omg omg this is so sad.. that serve is so bad, you dont use your knee.. when you throw the ball up, it has totally wrong direction - just look on the slomo, you can see it beautifully.. your style is horrible, if you really mean it, you should start practice the technique conditions..

  • Is his serve perfect? No. It's a good start though. And what do knees have to do with serving anyway?

  • Comment removed

  • bending them.

  • he could probably own you

  • foot fault

  • its so sad for kids like me (im 9) to dont care about foot faults.

  • nice kick. jumped nicely. iwish i had a digital cam to make vids of my kick serve. i can make the shit hit the fence all the way to the riht of the court lol

  • are those the tennis courts in lawrenceville? o.o

  • nice serve

i actually wanna ask you how you can put you're own video in slowmotion?

can you please say me where i can do this.

  • nice

  • not bad but u seem a little lazy

  • rapage

  • wow nice!

  • there is no grace in your style man but u might have gotten better why not make mo

  • WOW.... Top spin kicks up, kick serves kick out... thats it

  • that's a pretty good topspin serve but not a kick

  • hope you know a topspin serve is a type of kick serve...

  • you guys are idiots.... an american twist lmfao...wtf is tht..

  • A combination of slice and topspin (mostly topspin).

  • dude franco your so good

  • Kick or Topspin Serve?

  • A topspin serve is a kick serve. Three different kick serves exist; topspin, topspin-slice, and twist. There all called kick serves because the ball bounces really high.

  • a twist wtf..... wow u dont know wht ur talking bout

  • Lmao, yes he does :P A twist/american twist is a topspin serve with slice, but not as much slice as a topspin-slice.

  • dude, a flat serve is a flat serve, a slice serve is a alice serve, a kick serve is a kick serve(which he does not have)well me wtf a partial kick/slice serve is... i would die if some human being could majically bring the ball from one side of the box to the other... plz post a viedo of that..ur making urself sound really dumb yo

  • american twist- kicks of to the right

  • lmfao!!! "three different kick serves" lmfao!!! theres only one kick serve smarty. kick serve is a type of TOPSPIN serve because kick serves have TOPSPIN, its not that topspins go in with kick that doesnt make sense. THERE are two basic topspin serves: you got the KICK/TWIST(some would say there are similarly the same) and the Topspin slice

  • wikipedia

  • huh?

  • not true- kick serves kick of to one side

  • ok guys why do kick serves bounce to one side? because it's pretty impossible to just give topspin to it...it's more like topspin from the side because as a righthander you still move your arm from left to right...you can't just move it up - maybe people think there are more types but actually you can put them together in a (almost) flat serve, a slice serve (which has side spin and not backspin, same as the topspin serve) and the topspin serve

  • well you might not be able to hit pure top spin but i can

  • ok you are talking some nonsense right now. first you say "kick serves kick off to one side" and then you say "i can put pure topsin on the ball" - sooo then why kicks your topspin serve still off to one side?

  • "sooo then why kicks your topspin serve still off to one side?" - speak english????

  • im so sorry, dude. I'm not english or american so i sometimes make mistakes when i speak english. again: why does your topspin serve still kick off to one side? i hope it's correct now and you can answer to my question politely.

  • sometimes when you hit the ball further around the ball towards the left it becomes an american twist and not a topspin serve

  • hm ok i would still call it a topspin serve but ok - it's your own business;)

  • Comment removed

  • thats a top-spin serve my bad... but still it doesnt kick... any that yoimcrazy guy u dnt know wht u talking bout

  • its at the guys head....

  • Nice Kick Serve,Wanna Do The Twister? xP

  • j/w- why do they call it a kick serve? i dont know anything about tennis

  • awesome,I want learn this^^

  • not bad

  • nice kick serve!

  • i liked his mtion its really simple which is always important

  • It kicked up to that guys head.

    Nice serve.

  • pretty good kick serve

  • Dude, you're a dumbass, that's a kickserve. Man, hate these arrogant fags. If you want to say you have a better kickserve then post you're own dam video.

  • for more power try to do more explosive movements..other than that you are really good and i like that seve

  • mada mada daze

  • Mada mada dane

  • right to the forehand... work on getting it to the backhand side. unless ur playing a lefty

  • Your contact, you met the ball just a few m/s early, and .Topspin bounce was almost there there.Work on it,make another video if you think you've improved.

  • there was a lot of spin on that ball it was up at the other guys head when he returned it. It wasn't a monster kick serve but it still had topspin...

  • the brushing of the ball and yur tossing seems ok jus work on yur shoulders and stance

  • nice serve

    but some errors.

jump higher so it's not a foot fault.

that wasn't really a kick serve.

that ball barly has any spin or a kick to it.foret what i said earlier..u suck

  • I hate how people like to be smart, but that was a kick serve. It wasn't even a bad serve but seriously what is your problem.

And for the kick serve, use your body more, so it's a faster generated serve.

  • impressive. What kind of court were you playing on?
