My dad is just standing in our living room, talking shit about my mum... And all I can think to myself is "Run, Honey, Run" so I just close my eyes and turn the volume up to forget about that stuff....
Yes, on the original, but I'm wondering who the vocalist is with Morcheeba on this track. I know the original John Martyn track from London Conversation.
I like the country vibe this gives me. I don't really like Morcheeba's other music, but I really like this album. I can't explain it, it is exactly what I was looking for. I need this vibe that the songs give
the lyrics and the sound are amazing as always! I mean every song of them has something special...which makes morcheeba a remarkable band for that! :]
The most haunting track from one of my favorite albums of all time! I love each and every single song on it! I used to like Morcheeba but with Dive Deep they took it to another level!
I heard this song the other day and now I can't get it OUT OF MY HEAD. It stays with you in a good way. The chorus reminds me of an old Gordon Lightfoot song...anybody else getting the same thing?

If I could change one thing, I'd throw the drummer out & stick someone in there who had some swing in their style. Charlie Watts or Phil Rudd, because the thing this song lacks is a swing. And a guitar solo
@XYChromosome It's your expanded view of reality that allows you to see this effect. The lyrics in all Morcheba have an expanded meaning for those at higher frequincies. I just recently was able to comprehind and if you don't I hope you soon will. this
i can't believe i didn't know this band until today. they're great! I've downloaded pratically everything I found in the past... let's say... hour! and everything is great!
I would, but I can't. I can't seem to find them nowhere where I live. They're not famous around here, so it's pratically impossible for me. Trust me, I would love to have their albums...
The song is by John Martyn and released in 1967 on the album London Conversation. This is a really faithful cover--and brings back great memories for us old folk

Been to their concert and they sung this song and live sounds even better, great artists they know how to make a show

What an excellent rendition of John's song. Filled out very nicely. The original was just John on his own with an acoustic guitar. :)

John Martyn wrote this when he was just seventeen i think. When most of us were squeezing spots into the mirror!

It's not a Gordon Lightfoot vibe, it's a John Martyn vibe - the original's on London Conversation.
I heard this version in a bar about a month ago, but thought it didn't sound like straight Morcheeba. Lo and behold, it's genius JM.

Chill guys. I think the "cover" being referred to is the album cover art in the video.
No one's accusing Morcheeba of "covering" a song.
