  • ¿conoces a Ramon Casas i Carbó (Barcelona 5 de enero de 1866 - 29 de febrero de 1932)? dibujaba con mucha soltura, me gustó tu dibujo ; )

  • I hate the music. You should have a banjo playing in the background like the Burton Silverman vid.

it really helped me to improve a lot my technique, so by the way, can you make a tutorial about portraits or anything on your method?

    thanks bro!!!

  • I love it! I have been wanting to do a drawing on toned paper ever since I first saw this. What type of paper is this?

  • Beautiful. I have two questions. First, is there a way to slow the video down to watch it in real time? Also, what is the Salmagundi Club? Thanks!

  • are you using vine or compressed charcoal? or both?are you partial to certain brands? could you explain the process some? Amazing work.

  • hey David. I was wondering if you are using vine or compressed charcoal, or both? Could you list your materials and method more specifically? brands and etc? Also i was wondering if you do more instructional videos? youve got great ability, nice work.

  • Thanks, I've been asked by a few folks to do a painting DVD, but not sure I would have much to add to what is already out there. One of my students filmed this randomly and I thought I would play around with the clip for fun.

  • David are you using vine or compressed charcoal, or both? could you explain the process some? could you inform me on the specific brands of your materials? Incredible perceptual and technical ability by the way- thanks

  • Great Demo. I love the fushion of the art and the music. I would love to see you do more. Perhaps an oil painting demo.

  • very good , what are your marerials?

  • This is charcoal and white chalk on toned paper.

  • David, Amazing is an understatement. This is spectacular. As President of Allied Artists of America and an Honorary Member of the Salmagundi Club I always love seeing the work that comes out of the Club. Please do more vids. Don't believe we have met. Perhaps we will one day. hopefully soon. And maybe you could come demo for Allied at some future show at the National Arts Club.

  • Thanks, sorry for the late reply, i just figured out this thing. I think that I'm going to a few paintings on view at the NAC this fall with an Art Students League show.
