But unfortunately there was no other pond for them nearby, in nature they jump out of the water to look for better home of water....

These really are invasive species (Tailand), so, I think It wouldn't be right to return them to the water, unless that's not a natural pond. Even if it is a natural pond, they could easily go to a river or a natural lake, because they have this ability to "walk" on land. They can breath air, and will still alive while they stay moist.
Look for "Clarias Batrachus" on google for more information.
