Many thanks for posting this...I listened to that Friday Rock Show broadcast as well...have a tape from it. This version seems to match it, but I've got another version as well with a slightly different (live?) ending. Wonderful song and a great band.
@ZulKeymaster . Glad to have found another fan of this band. I'm intrigued by your comment that this matches the Friday rock show version as the version posted here is definitely the EP version. Remind me what other tracks they played on the friday rock show. I am even MORE intrigued by the fact that you have a different version of the track. Could it be that is the Friday rock show version? Have you any other recordings of the band?
@izabelgoudie The versions are pretty close....the vocals are a little different....that great guitar note at 3:27 on your vid is missing...But the big difference is the ending - not a fade out, but more like a live performance.
I'll happily send you the other version if you like. I don't think I have any other Money songs on my tape.
No, my biggest regret was not going to see them play at The Boat Club Nottingham (I was at another gig). I am from Nottingham actually! My friend and I said we would go and see them when they returned, but unfortunately they never did.
@clarkpegasus4001 A great pity you never saw them live. I managed it about 5 or 6 times thankfully.I think one of my gig clippings posted here or on Fast World lists the boat club gig. I only ever saw them in Birmingham city centre.
I love this track and EP. I got it from a "giveaway" box outside Reddington Rare Records in Birmingham years ago for 50p! It's best 50p i've ever spent . What a wonderful track this is.
Tony is my Godfather,I was christened December 82, he looks just like that on the pics :-) Makes me really proud to hear this :-) The Railway was such a great place to gig and see gigs, gives me goosebumps listening. Thanks for posting xxx
I'v searched for years for this track, I had it on a mix tape I made from the Friday rock show when I was about 14 in the early 80's, I never found out the name of the band though. I played it to my mates and we put it in the set of the covers band we had going at school. Lost the tape years ago. New if i kept looking it would turn up on youtube. Thanks for posting.
Money - "First Investment" album re-released as CD, (with this bonus track), on Candy Rock Records and available on Amazon. Or download the MP3 track + others. Great bunch of Guys these...especially El Primo & Barracudda! "When I look at you...I think....BATHROOM!!" HeeeHeee
Hobo was basically yet another label directly connected to Morgan Studio's. Morgan was one of the first independent studio's. They had to think of ways of paying the bills so they recorded stuff and issued on their various labels like Morgan Twin Stereo, Morgan Bluetown, Gull and Hobo. They also had their publishing; Morgan Music, and Mr Sam Music, and licensed stuff to Polydor, Fontana - famously 'Red Dirt' etc. Money were great but were the right band firmly located in the wrong time. Shame!
Thanks so much once more, do you have the Friday Rock show session version of this? Thanks to Tony Wilson the engineer it is even better than this version.
Shit man you have just given me the greatest gift of my entire LIFE. I heard the Friday rock show session version of this about '82/3 and have tried to find it ever since......thank you SO much
Many thx for posting this as i've been trying to find this song for over 30 years. BTW I listened to that Friday rock show as well.

@izabelgoudie I too have been looking for this song fro years, ever since my Friday Rock Show tape was eaten by my Walkman. You have made my day.
It was followed by a track by KISS off unmasked.
