I have just found a CD of this and K450 in a charity shop. I played K450, allegedly from 1968. After hearing it, I was hoping it wasn't Richter. This upload shows it was.
The only Richter Mozart Concerto recording I have heard in which the soloist actually connects with the orchestra, and manages to sound like a Mozart pianist is K482, with Britten. (Much worse recording, but you don't notice it) Was Mozart his blind spot?
What a horrible recording! The quality is so bad I really think they just ought to destroy all these ugly old recordings I mean we have a better quality recording by Herbie Hancock digitial and all for gods sake! When I click on a video with this title I expected to hear Mozart not some crappy quality recording. The recording is so bad its too distracting for me a real music lover. SIgh.
@ComradeKomaron Well it wasn't really sarcasm as much as bad trolling. But on a stubborn note I'm also absolutely sure that most composers if alive would not approve of modern recordings, save except for someone like Ives.
The final part of the footage is shot in Georgia on a sightseeing trip to the historic sites of Mtskheta, in Svetitskhoveli and Jvari cathedrals. It seems that he had a concert tour in Soviet Georgia during that time. The footage is accompanied by the famous Georgian song dedicated to Tbilisi.
Yes, several. "Concerto for Piano no. 27 in B flat, K 595 with Britten, English Chamber Orchestra (Blythburgh Church, Suffolk, 16 June 1965) Baton 1009 (LP 1979) AS Disc 323 (CD) or Historical Performers HP 7 (CD) BBC BBCB 8005 (CD 1999) Music & Arts CD-761 (CD) Seven Seas / King Records KICC 2269 (CD) Stradivarius 10024 (CD) with Barshai, Moscow Symphony (Moscow, 23 April 1966) Leningrad Masters LM 1302 (CD) Czar Classics 260302 (CD)
It's the Moscow Symphony orchestra. The date of performance is actually April 23, 1966. There is a CD version of this (which features the sneezing/coughing impeccably timed to Richter's entrance even more prominently).

@ComradeKomaron Well I was kidding ... I myself write music and have a great love for these older recordings. They are quite precious IMHO.
