best lures ever! first cast pulled in a rainbow then second lost it on a snag, popped another on, BANG!!! another lol. then cast again and lost it on a snag :( will constantly buy these guys. great variety of colouration as well
Everyone please note that you can alter the action on these lures by dropping them in a cup of hot water for a minute or so & then bending the body at the middle. The more of a curve there is the wider the swing of the lure. The less of a bend the tighter the swing. Altering that action can make all the difference.
Just bought a bunch of these Tassie Devils from British Ebay some months ago , ........rigged them onto stronger homemade wire shafts , ........got trout , but also pike stocked in our fishing club ponds .
Years ago I've caught a couple of trout on such lure in a local "put-and-take" pond , I'm fully convinced . Cheers , diemai
just caught 8 rainbow trout in about an hour on these things. lost a lot more, i'm going to try running the line right to the hook I think I'll lose less.
I reeled in at sporatic speeds, and almost always got bites when i was letting it sit, simulating injured minnows.
I ones had one of these and hooked a big trout, I broke the steel wire so now I've lost the lure and a big fish -.- I'll definitely remove the wire next time I buy one. Problem is I can't find a store that sells them
@arisingartist - you can get them direct from their website. I'm a big fan as you can tell by the name!!!!!! Favourite colours for trout are #48, 50 and 96.
In New Zealand Tasmanian Devil fishing lures are used for trolling and spin fishing for brown and rainbow trout on lakes and rivers. Some Canterbury anglers also use Tasmanian Devils for upriver salmon fishing.
@jazzmusicplayer Actually, for trout you need to cast upstream as trout swim against the current and wait for food to float down to them. I use the rainbow trout lookalike and it works a treat!
i remember years back when these lures came out.... they were very effective in attracting trout but many times the trout would just follow them and not take.... i found the smaller version more effective...
also as the guy said definatly take out the wire as they arent worth shit.
See how these catch our Tassie trout at fishingboatingtasmania
