  • You could learn a lot from a real horseman who respects horses. His name is Klaus Hempfling.

  • Awesome! Takes a lot of trust to get a horse to drop that easy when you ask them to. :) Great job!

  • Now thats the good ole cow boy!!!

  • Now thats what i call a cowboy

  • See my videos. eustaquio514

  • beautiful horse. it's so cool that the horse stands so quietly when cracking the whip in the air around him, especially when he's laying down. the two of you have one heck of a great strong bond :) good luck in the extreme mustang makeover :D

  • that would be funny if he hit the horse with the wip

  • howdy partner youve got some skills

  • I have a mustang that was brought in from Nevada aswell. Her name is Sunny. She was 2 years old when she was brought in. She is almost 18 now.

  • I feel so bad for this horse. This horse does NOT respect the human he respects the pain and fear of the whip. He doesn't trust his owner. I wish somebody could rescue this horse.

  • @Singforlife101 god heres another one, damn what is with these people ya know im not gonna repeat myself a million times read the message i sent to that kippewin dumb ass. youll get my message(:

  • @JessicaGwen18 Yes, I'm not going to talk to somebody who is name calling because it is a sign of immaturity and I would rather not deal with that right now.

  • and THAT'S how you train a horse

  • Beautiful horse! :))

  • Clumsy little calf, hes just like, "HEY GOD LET ME GO FFFFF DANG NABBIT HORSE FINE ILL JUST LAY HERE AND DIE."

  • wow roping jerseys lol

  • train all the wild horses, make competitions out of them, what do you have left?

  • sometimes it looks very cute :D

  • its just amazing to watch!!! :D:D Great!!

  • Impressive. No doubt.

  • a ya thehorselover42 you dont know shit if you did you wouldnt make comments like that

  • great work!!!

  • Broke to ride!!!

  • awesome job!

  • my friend sat on her horse when he was lying down and he got up and she was on him!!! =D

  • abuse to the horse! for stading on it and whiping it!!!! thums up if u agree!

  • @TheHorselover42 He wasn't actually hitting it. He was popping the whip to show that the horse doesn't spook. Why would someone post a video on YouTube of them sitting there whipping their horse?

  • @TheHorselover42 Award cause he wasnt hitting the horse, so ur not gonna get any thumbs up. -.-

  • it would suck if u were standing on him and then u hit him by accadent it would be funny to watch but it would suck for u and the horse

  • poor cow

  • poor baby cow):

  • @Shannellle STFU if you dont like it get outta here god damn

  • Although this trainer and horse didn't win last night in FTW, the show was amazing! The bond between trainer and wild horse is awesome and I had to keep reminding myself they had only started riding these incredible animals in April...WOW! And how do you prepare them for the noise and excitement in arena? That is really a true test of trust and skill with these beautiful and SMART horses!

  • he's handsome!!!

  • Are you whipping the horse?? It sounds like it

  • @MyLove4Horses Thats what i thought! but i realised he's just cracking the whip, to show that its not afraid or summin!!:) xx

  • @LovelyJubbly15 Ohhhhh Ok thanks :)

  • that horse has just respect for his rider, that's it (:

  • the photos of the wild ones show very highly adapted conformation. a unique and beautiful creation from our Creator.

  • you have done alot of work and i hope you win, i train race horses or any thing else. been thinkin of gettin a mustang cause of out breeding w/ alot of diff. blood which for health. seen some pretty good mounts at the adoption place the other day well good luck you have done well

  • after seeing the curelty of rodeo, I don't like cow boy any more :(

  • THAT POOR HORSE!! :(

  • I don't like it. That horse is broken, it has no spirit left. He doesn't trust his rider, he just don't care about what happens.Everyone who loves horses should be able to see this.

  • @kippewin IMO it doesn't matter if a horse has been gentled or broken. As long as it does it's job and behaves like it should it's a good horse. Some horses can't be gentled so they have to be broke. Mustangs especially. Gentling works fine and dandy with colts and fillies, horses you can work with from the start. But when you have a full grown horse your options start thinning out. That horse might not be full of piss and vinegar but i'd trust him to get me where i needed to go. That's for sure

  • @kippewin my horse does the exact same shit and still has plenty of spirit left in her she still tests me from day to day that horse trusts that man completely if he didnt he'd be outa there

  • @kippewin with spirit or no spirit all the horses sense the fear, and run away of what they think is dangerous, and he knows the whip may cause him pain but he knows his rider isn't going to do that, and that is trust.

  • @kippewin You're an idiot. That horse isn't broken spirit-wise. He is very, very well trained. He is domesticated. There is nothing wrong with that. And yes, he DOES trust his rider. If a horse does not trust their human with all of the things that he is doing, his natural instinct is to run, to escape. He makes no attempt as escape. None at all. You may love horses, but you know nothing about how they think or feel. Do your homework before you bash on a video as amazing as this.

  • @kippewin you are a dumb ass mother F**ker, you dont know what your talkin bout, yer talkin outcha ass is whatcha doin. he trusts his rider, how in the hell does he not? that horse doesnt care what his rider does because he trusts him. he knows his rider wont hurt him. and you might love horses but your still a dumb ass whole. you just down talked an amazing owner and rider. think before you say dumb shit (:

  • Oooo buddy you wanna train my horse to lay down?(:

  • Fantástico, qué gran caballo

  • my dad does that butt instead he does lasoes while standing on the saddle

  • that whas impressve

  • THAT WAS AMAZING IT WAS AUWSOME!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE A SPECIL HORSE.

  • why do you whup the horse

  • @kidbillionaire1 He's not whipping the horse he is just cracking the whip I thought the same at first but if you look closely he isnt hitting the horse at all.

  • @kidbillionaire1 he doesnt whip it..he whips next to it to show off how quiet he is

  • AMAZING! I loved that part where he lays down! What a big puppy dog (:

  • Brilliant

  • mustangs arnt wild, theyre feral you retard

  • @xXxXreiner not when you get them from the wild?

  • I'm sorry about the negative comments I sent I feel bad now :(

  • Good job but your right on his flanks and I am against animal roping. You flung that calf down to the ground!

  • he looks like such a sweetie pie! what an awesome horse. you can tell he really trusts his rider.

  • Amazing!!! Nice job!!

  • Wow, that was amazing!!!! well done cowboy!

  • what a beautiful horse!

  • Really well done.

  • This is NOT a domestic horse nor will he ever be, I can see simply in his eyes, by his hears, how he conducts himself, his spirit has been destroyed. You have RUINED something so pure and beautiful. Congratulations, I hope you and anyone else who takes a mustang from their rightful place in the wild needs to rot in hell, In my eyes people like you are worse than the BLM. Domestic horses need to stay domestic as wild horses need to stay wild. if theirs a prob with the population, geld and release

  • @PonchoPonyRider Your heart is definitely in the right place my friend but there are a few things fundamentally wrong with your comment. First of all, genetically, there is absolutely no difference between mustangs and the horses found at your local stable. Mustangs ARE domesticated. The only "wild" horses in existence live in Mongolia. Training a mustang that was born on the range and a QH thats been left alone in a large pasture for years is the same thing. Neither are, in essence, "wild"

  • @ProudToBeADixie they simply have had no contact with humans, though I agree with you that mustangs living wild are a beautiful thing. Secondly, this horses spirit is not "destroyed". He clearly has a great deal of trust and respect for his human counterpart as Im sure your horse does for you. Your horse was born with a spirit too, are they "destroyed?" because again, your horse is no more domesticated than a mustang. Lastly, your idea of "geld and release" would fail miserably. There's a reason

  • @ProudToBeADixie that horses have survived thousands of years living in harems of one or a few stallions and several mares and the reason is this. ONE stallion CAN breed several mares. Gelding a few would simply create less competition for mares, not stop mares from being impregnated. If anything you would be putting the newly gelded males at risk, having less chance/will to fight off other stallions and therefor having a herd for protection.

  • @PonchoPonyRider This horse was caught by the BLM and sold to the owner, as you can tell by the brand on his neck. The reason the BLM catches mustangs and sells them is because the populations of wild mustangs are large enough that they would otherwise be forced to thin out the populations by killing them. When the BLM conducts a roundup, they do it as humanely as they possibly can. Would you rather this gorgeous animal be dead? It does seem like a tragedy, but it's better than the alternative.

  • good job.

  • beutiful horse!!! good job trianing the wild one wodnerful to see!!!

  • Is this horse gaited? Sure is at a walk.

  • Poor horse. :@ that's horrible.

  • Check out my just-released novel (THE LAST GOOD HORSE) for a reading ride of a lifetime (it's at Amazon).

  • This isn't surprising considering mustangs shut down when they get scared.

  • Awesome!

  • Just beautiful!

  • beautyfull horse poor kau :/

  • Wow you are really good!!! What a great job you've done with that horse! I wish my horse could do the same things! :)

  • stupid cowboy!!!1

  • beautiful

  • COOL!!

    They became somehow good friends.

  • I love mustangs! I have 1, Cocoa! LLuv him! He is a mazing! They are a horse you can do pretty much anything with! Awesoem video! It shows how willing they are to please! :)))

  • I dont hav a favorite part in this clip I loved all of it, way to go mate.

I believe that with that kind of great horsemenship you can train any horse.

every horse is different, but with greatness you can achieve anything.

And that to me is greater then greatness...FAV CLIP IN THE WHOLE WORLD...........

  • I agree Arabian's and thourabreed's are very sensative, I mean just try getting them to walk slow is hard enough let alone trying to keep there attention on you no matter what you try. You can follow all the avice that you are given and work really hard and still thing do not go like this. Although I have to admitt I would not try lying my horse down and cracking a wip over them.

  • je ne comprends pas pourquoi il frappe le cheval ce gros con??

  • @bethbeexx.. whirling the whip about shows that the horse doesn't spook. He's good with ropes. And the horse allowing the rider to stand on him while he's laying completely vulnerable on the ground shows trust and respect.

  • this was actually kind of fun to watch.

  • i read the title without looking at the thumbnail and thought this was a car video lol. so i clicked on it and was actually impressed. nice job!

  • mmm, welll helllooo there cowboyy!!! ;) I like a man who can ride!

    very impressive!

    Canadian Cowgirl. =)

  • why hit animals? your willy small or something/

  • @AlanClinton123 he's not hitting the horse. he is whipping the air.

  • Fuck you they should be free

  • Stop wiping the horse!!! How would you like it if I wiped your ass?

  • @sweetchucky123... he wasn't. Clearly the horse didn't flinch at all, or even respond to the whip. Hell, his ears stayed forward, he didn't even swivel to listen.

  • haha the horse looked like he was comfy on the ground

  • wow... that is one of the mos well kept mustangs ive ever seen... when i hear the word mustang i think of a scragely mustang wandering around in the brush...

  • You did a good job training him/her :) A beautiful horse, looks well treated too :)

  • HAHA thats awesome. But id like to see you have a go at my mare. I bet she would give you a run from your money.

  • y the heck is he standing on the horse on the ground?

  • @YourGuardianWolf it's to show how much the animal trusts him and how calm it is. Trust me, a grown man standing on a horse is an afterthought to a 1200lb animal.

  • mir gefällt´s nicht :(

  • wow, much respect. I am having to sell my horse 'cos I have over-horsed myself and need like a first pony. I am so depressed about it. Wish I had this guys guts and skill, just wish I could do this stuff.

  • Beautiful mustang. I want one so bad lol.

  • its aced

  • Big deal , its not the horse its the rider........give me any horse and in time you can do almost anything.......Hey would love to see you at full galop take you rifle out load it and shoot put it away .......I dont get the standing up with wip thingy is that how you guys round up catle............. I use to own a horse you could stand up on or lie on or do anything he was like 30 years old ......

  • WHOA WHOA WHOA, ok hopefully THIS won't go to the WRONG person...Moody, my comment to you was ONLY about what a fabulous video this was...HUGE misunderstanding. I LOVED YOUR VIDEO...THAT WAS ALL... I don't know WHY the other stuff went to you! <3 My apologies none the less, so sorry that was SO not directed at YOU! I love what you are doing!

  • WoW....Loved the video, we also have a horse that was in the Fort Worth EMM. 2009! They are AWESOME animals. Great job on the video!!!

  • Mustangs are my favorite horse and i want to get one but i think im going to get one from a ranch instead in my opinion only round em up i the herds are to big and round up yearlings cause they'll adapt better, Keep the wild horses wild and the tame horses tame

  • Nice work

  • To the person who said that mustangs are untrainable-

    That is simply not true.

My mustang, Toby, was caught out of the wild when he was at the old age of 4!

And now he is 8, dead broke, and we compete in playdays (barrel racing) and have been doing very well. CHILDREN who have never been on a horse before also ride him alone with no problem. For you to say something like that shows that you are ignorent and have never worked with a mustang.

  • The bond my Mustang and I have is so great it will never be broken. Our first week on the job as a wrangler for a outfitter in Bob Marshall Wilderness, MT we just made camp and it was time to turn all 35 mules and horses out for the night. 5 minutes later my boss started yelling at me to head off my mustang because he was at a full run through camp heading toward home 33 miles away. I yelled at him to get his attention, he stopped dead in his tracks, trotted toward me and the rest is history

  • how do you get the horse to lie down

  • you cannot train a wild mustang, because once you have caught one and ripped it out of the wilderness it is no longer a wild mustang its a slave.

  • @tgltyty Never a slave but a willing servant.

  • @moodysoup It shouldnt be a "servant" at all. it should be running free.

  • @tgltyty Oh god, you sound like a child or someone who's never had a bond with a horse. I don't see anything wrong with the conservation of the mustang by adopting them out to loving homes. Slaughtering them is inexcusable. I would love to see them running free too but their numbers are being monitored, now aren't they?

  • @moodysoup 1)Yes I have had bonds with horses, 2) yes they are being monitored they are being monitored by the BLM whose offcial stand on wild horses is extermination, how do I know this I called the BLM got through to the director and asked. It was confirmed.

  • @tgltyty Look, all I'm saying is that I believe in helping wild mustangs. I would rather see them run free but if that isn't an option for all of them, then I want to see adoption (to avid respectors and loves of the animal) for the others. Not anything less.

  • Great job, good video. You own your braggin rights.

    Tim

    startmycolt

  • i want to teach our horse to lay down, that way i dont have to climb up. lol i dont see the point in calf roping and tripping. i have heard of aweful injuries that happened to calves that were tied up and they lannded the wrong way and it it died in an instant. and also, when a calf is running full speed and then gets cought in the laso and flies backwards, isnt that a little mean/pointless, and animal abuse? i personally think it should be illegal to have calf tripping and tieing them up. :(

  • I love wild horses !

Wish i could come to the US and observe the mustangs and the buffaloes roaming the great plains.

  • It was very clear that he was not hitting the horse. You are obviously an amature on the topic, and should do a bit more research before writing such acusations. The stock whip is cracked to move cattle, It did not strike the horse at all, trust me, no matter how much you train a horse, it will not just stand while being hit with a stock whip. Know your facts befor you criticise, this trainer is a brilliant, gentle horse trainer, well done on such an amazingly calm and willing little horse.

  • @MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd some people dont realize you have to teach the horses to be use to the crack of a whip. Just like you have to train them not to be gunshy. In another 50 years horse riding wont be around, neither will ANYTHING rustic. Hell, people wont even know how to have a garden in another hundred years. Its kinda sad how anything outdoors is dwindling away.

  • OHH!!! so cute!!

    What a beautifull horse!! I

    Like this video...

  • wow this is impressive you can tell the horse really trusts you!

  • jackass stop hitting the horse voice commands work just the same douche

  • @tjohn1986 who's hitting a horse?

  • well why dont i just whip you in the ass too!

  • well isnt that somethin! pretty cool.

  • This poor horses eyes are dead.

All I can say :learned helpnessless. There are studies about that if you are realy interessted.

I prefere to have a partner not a helpless made poor horse to feel strong.

  • @fantasielimette That's possible. Tough to say without being there. I can also see it, at least from what I see in the low quality of the video.. as learned boredom. And that's awesome - not impressed with the whip because it's nothing to fear.. just a thing that makes noise.. no horse eating monster. And going down because there's nothing bad that happens on the other side.

But it can also be learned helplessness. You're absolutely right. You'd have to see more of them to know for sure.

  • What a great horse!! i wish my mustang was that well trained...

  • That is funny. When the horse is laying down his eyes say, "Ok. Whatever."

  • @enipaci Ive trained my horse to sit. If someone can teach a horse to sit it doesnt always make you a great trainer either. Some horses are easier to train that than others.xThis guy did a good job on training a good quiet little horse and thats all that matters. No need for nasty comments! The horse does need a little work on the lying down though, so that he wants to lay down and doesnt fight it. other than that good job!

  • haha it wouldnt have been too good of a site @ 0:55 if that bull whip would have just slipped a little and wacked him on the rear! Whoo!! that would have been a long fall! nice job. good quiet horse.

  • mustangs are amazing well all wild horses are they are so trust worthy

  • Thats not wild, this horse is trained.

  • @MarathePrincess well it was wild. But hes got it trained

  • Hey Dusty! If you ever get the time I could use some tips .. This video still makes me smile! I LOVE IT!!!! I can see your Mustang is having a very good time as well! He gave up all his weapons to you!(Feet) You have his total trust! Your pretty good with that Bull Whip Mr....

  • That was awesome lol

  • Great video Dusty! I loved every minute of it!!!!

  • Good job Dusty. Looks like a very nice horse to me. :D

  • Excellent job. What a wonderful presentation of how trainable and willing Mustangs can be. :D

  • great video. but hey, dusty...i think telford fell asleep on ya around 2:40 LOL

  • he has a whip the same as mine

  • That was so amazing! Good luck

  • thats cool my horse is still learning

    ...xDDDD

  • do he hit the horse?

  • no he didnt. He was cracking the whi[p tp the side to see if the noise spooked him, which it didnt! =)

  • don't go bragging about. doing that on a quarter horse is normal. managing that on sensitive breeds such as mustangs is really not easy. If you think u're so good, start training thoroughbreds and arabs for instance ;)

  • @DJBelbe Quarter horses arent all that easy. :| Try my horse.

  • @DJBelbe oh i have an arab its crazy lol when i first got her she couldnt jump at all and we have worked so hard on her but its all worth while :)

  • @koolsafistacation12 that's great! I love arabs. I don have one just cos I preffer a horse that is naturally collected like a lusitano. that saves a lot of work in the training. but for endurance trail riding (my nº1 fave horse discipline) nothing beats arabs (perhaps the akhal teke but those are too xpensive)!

  • @DJBelbe um.... excuse me just because you have thoroughbreds and arabians......doesn't mean that you can go around and hate all the Quarter and Mustangs horses......if you really loved horses you wouldn't care what kind of breed they are.......and this man did an excellent job so don't put this kind of rude and since-less comments on this video ......

  • @mangoismygirl55 hate, who said anythin about hating? I love all horses, I'm merely stating that some breeds are easier for some tasks than others. IJust like arabs are easier to condition for endurance competitions or lusos extremely easy to collect and train the airs... it's just how they are, nothing to do with likes or hates.

  • @DJBelbe oh i'm so sorry it's just the way you said it, it made it sound like that

  • @enipaci ...why are you being so mean to him??? just cause hes done somethings truley amazing with a horse???..... mustangs are a sensitive breed and can take alot of trust and freindship to do even the smallest thing like standing up on their backs.... and when you say you get a horse then break it.... you should do more than that you should train it to be compassionanate to the owner and listen and love.... not just break it and sell it (horses are animals not machines)

  • farm animals aren't so fragile. They have very thick skin =)

  • Poor calf :(

  • Great job!! A little patience is all you need to train any horse. :) I'm getting my wild mustang in a few months and can't wait!!

  • did the calf get injured? x (

  • all I can say is dam good job if it is a pure wild mustang.

  • I had to watch this video twice to really believe it.

You are so skilled and/or talented with horses!

Fantastic job with this beautiful animal.

  • Holy shit! that is one badass horse trainer/cowboy. I doubt that was a pure wild hose though before. I bet he had it since birth.

  • actually there's proof that he's wild....at about :20 u can see the freeze brand put in the left side of the horse's neck by the BLM....it's hard to see but it's there

  • I wish he could teach me to do that with my mustangs!

Awesome! I really enjoyed the video!

    Thanks so much!

  • dang! woo hoo! that was cool he looked like a dog when you got him to lay down! i want to train a mustang one day but i'll need LOTS of training, patience and skill! lol XD
