  • Great song

    Love it.

  • heheheh----omg so vintage love it----going to 60's disco friday--bubbles xx

  • 腹の底から好きなメロディです!ハッピーです!!

  • Thanks aaron

  • This song was number one when i was born. So it's quite special to me!

  • this is how it was kids!=if you were lucky you had a record player and played your little collection of treasured vinyl 7 inch singles=or you had a tinny little transistor radio= and tuned into the pirate stations off the east coast of england and radio luxembourg in the evening ==compared to this vid the sound quality was terrible with lots of fading and interference but thats all there was..apart from the token offering by the BBC for an hour a day on radio and the same per week on tv!!!

  • This is the version I first heard in 1964 so I'm stuck on this being my favorite - since it IS the one I associate with those high school memories.

However - as always - the great Dionne Warwick belts out those Bacharach tunes better than anyone on this earth!

  • Great Burt Bacharach song, Great song writer!!! So many covers of this song. But I will always still love the 80's Naked Eyes version..!!

  • Letter to Brezhnev...

  • If The Righteous Brothers were considered "Blue Eyed Soul", than Sandie Shaw was a Righteous Sister..........

  • I like the dionne warwick, version as well but the sandie shaw, version is the standard, and the one I loved first.

  • Good female vocalist from 60's, should get for attention.

  • scratch scratch crackle crackle pop pop.. bring it on ... i loved sandie shaw... i wanted to marry her when i was 7

  • I love this when the groove hits the vinyl and the song :)

  • Lightening Strikes wasnt the early early 60s,it was 1966.I like Lou's version better than this one but this ones not bad and i love Dionnes of course.

  • love it thanks xxxx

  • My favorite version of this great song is by RB Greaves from 1970.

  • This was number one on the British charts for 2 weeks in late Oct/early Nov in 1964

  • Lou Christie sang this song in the early, early 60's..huge hit for him..difficult song to find..on his album Lightin Strikes..I have it!

  • Great...... Thank you. Cant beat the 60s music.

  • The Naked Eyes version is good as well.

Just like Mony Mony, both 60s and 80s versions are good.

  • Memories are made of this... Thanks for sharing !!!

  • This is fantastic I had no Idea she did this Song.

I don't care what anyone says the 60's were and are the Best From the Wall Of Sound to Wookstock. PRICELESS

  • Motowngirl65-The version you may be thinking of is by RB Greaves-same singer that made take a letter maria a hit

  • No way. This doesn't come close to the original.. I wish I could remember who it was. SOMEONE did this BEFORE Dionne Warwich and made a hit out of it. It was the best. Dionne was second best. This chick is killing it.

  • @motowngirl65--

I would tend to agree with your assessment: "This chick is killing it."

  • this sounds beautiful... i love the sound of vinyl...

  • Konge!

  • Burt Bacharach wrote it..Lou Johnson actually recorded it first ..then Dionne Warwick..then Sandie Shaw...then Naked Eyes...& then Matchbox 20 gave it a shot.

  • I thought Dion Warrick sang all B & D's songs.

  • Wow! I thought Naked Eyes were the original artist. You learn something new everyday. Then again I was born 12 years after this was released. Was this a big hit in '63?

  • This version came out in 1965. It made the bottom 60 portion of the Hot 100.

  • Thanks man!I suscribe to you!!!And The recorder thing spin is not boring!Your video is there to hear not to watch so keep the good job and let us discover those great music pieces of history, well known and unknown as well!

  • Why thank you. You know, the whole thing about watching the record go around is that is what we used to do when we were little and had record players. Watching that record go around and hearing the needle touch the record and seeing the record label going aorund and around is all we had with my little record player.

  • I must have stared at that record wondering "how in the heck does it play music?" a thousand time. I have enjoyed a wonderful career in the children's music industry and feel it all started by watching those 45s go round and round. I have a few hundred more 45s to stick up and will hopefully by this Summer and they will all just go round and round as the music is magically created...Aaron

  • The groove in the record can be up to a mile long and there is a groove in the groove that goes up and down like the sine waves in the beginning of the Outer Limits that makes the sound.

  • @aarons45s Di questa meravigliosa canzone c'è anche una versione in italiano intitolata "il mondo nei tuoi occhi" (world in your eyes), cantata da Ornella Vanoni. Comunque Sandie Shaw è bravissima...

  • a bit boring just watching a recorder thing spin around but the song is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
