how is marrijauna scheduale 1 drug with no medical benefits when marinol is schedual 3 with med benefits. All the government does is make something ilegal so you have to buy their product (marinol) which in turn lets them arrest their competition(weed growers) and there product can dominate the market
the reason it's illegal is because it will interfere with anti-depressants, which is a multi-billion dollar business. Its all just corruption and interest of profit.

This is why anarchy is such an amazing idea. Not only would a natural order of peace be restored but we could decide to do whatever we want to do ... like smoking a beautiful plant.
Many medical studies suggests smoking cigarettes (especially the commercially made ones) causes more health problems than Marijuana., and research also shows that Marijuana is less addictive than Tobacco or Alcohol.
Originally Marijuana and Hemp became criminalized in the early 20th century to protect and monopolize the Tobacco industry lobby and allow Philip Morris to make billions in profits at the expense of millions of Americans' health.
Why do they have someone who doesn't understand or have any experience with marijuana arguing for it? Seriously... Spike it with potency? What is this guy talking about?
The stronger the better, that means we have to smoke less to get the same effect! Ugh...
sorry im posting as im watching, i had mild skitzo, i started smoking weed and it went away, when i quit using weed i was fine for months then it came back and got worse and worse, i started smoking weed again and it went away, i havnt smoked weed in 3 months because of tht trouble i got into and im fine, why? because weed helps with skitzo not worsens it, if it worsens it i would be goin bezerk right now becuase this is the longest ive been w/o it in 2-3 years
i had to pay 150 dollars, spend half a year in and outa court, do larc(lake area recovory center/rehab) once a week for 3 months and 12 AA classes required by larc within 2 weeks because larc didnt inform me till i was almost done with it and pay for a public defender all because i had a bowl with resin in my pocket and i was at a pavilion with my friend and his gf and 3, 3!! f-in cops pulled in and said that they were searching us...
Another note: Pollis says that all drugs are bad, harmful, addictive, etc. However, that's simply untrue when we're talking about the entheogenic properties of many psychedelics. This would include primarily psilocybin mushrooms and [potent] DMT containing plants. Mushrooms are known to have anti-addictive effects, are less toxic than aspirin, and produce spiritual experiences that effect most users positively in the long run. DMT is one of the most incredible hallucinogens in existence as well.
Great video. Pollis covers all the bases, except his only flaw is saying that all other drugs apart from cannabis should remain illegal. Cartels and gangs will still be able to thrive and inflict violence, especially since they'll refocus their production/distribution onto harder drugs. I suppose cannabis is a great start, but eventually all substances will need to be legal; because the cons far outweigh the pros.
additional potency? man, like this shit if you could have done a better job than this dude. I want tommy chong and marc emery in this debate, not this fool. never smoked weed, ppssshhhh get the hell outa here.
@darrenritt27 yeah i scrolled down and only saw part of that thread. i think i meant to hit @ someone else, but i felt compelled to clear that up for the people who seemed confused (most commenters). my bad on that misappropriated troll.
The whole regulatory aspect being talked about makes me cringe...
The only role the government should have is... Decriminalizing it... PERIOD. Keep government out of private lives and innovation. If a company wants to make organic cannabis or want to grow a more pure form they should have every right. Let the people organize their own watch groups to guide people on different products as they become available.
Government will FUCK IT UP... like they do to everything else.
@jmotz3 they tryed to make alcohol ilegal a while back in the 19 something.. idk the year. but people werent having that shit.. then when they tryed to make cannabis ilegal people faught a little bit, the government got even tougher and people just gave up.. they should have had riots in the streets over it.... but they were probably all lazy pot heads lol
This guy has the WRONG idea about legalizing it. It should be legal, PERIOD!! No taxes, no dispensaries, not Government interference. If I want to grow a garden of weed, that is my right as a property owner. Fuck him and his socialist bullshit!
@sigmapsicharlie Amen bro! Hopefully if it does become legal property owners would have the right to grow it. I hate the capatilistic element but it means the government might actually approve. I would grow so much kush man.
@whatsafterthisplace. So you'd rather pay thousands of dollars in court costs, spend time behind bars and have your career ruined all because you wanted to save 20 bucks on a gram? Sorry, but that logic is flawed. Legalize it.
I actually dont want marijuana to be legalized, because that means if you want a Gram which is worth $20. If legalized that same Gram will be worth $40. I dont think I want to pay more for the same amount just so it can be legal. I am sorry but I dont agree with this.
You have to remember that part of the reason it is so expensive is because not many people grow it. It can be grown almost everywhere in the US, and many people grow it indoors. I know I would grow my own if it were legal, and I'm sure many other would do the same. It's supply and demand, when you have much more supply, obviously the price will go down. Yes, they could tax it and create some kind of revenue, but if you're growing your own (like tobacco) there is no tax. =)
@leechmasterb and i'm not saying all drugs are bad. i'm just saying you don't want to mess with your normal state too much or too often. i don't abuse alcohol, but i like having a couple beers. tylenol will destroy your liver if you OD, but i'd still take it for a bad headache. try smoking weed five times a day every day for a couple years, then quit cold turkey, and see if it doesn't take you a week to "get back to normal."
@leechmasterb "drug" means something that interferes with normal biochemistry. ibuprofen blocks COX-2; its a drug. THC activates CB receptors more abundantly than anandamide; its a drug. the 2nd half of your comment shows you don't have a basic understanding of the subject at hand. and @MIB205 you're confusion "drug" with "nutrient." bread is full of molecules, some nutritious, some don't interact. nutrients are part of your natural biochemistry, drugs alter your natural biochemistry.
@leechmasterb bc someone said "it's not a drug." you produce anandamide, not THC. the amt you produce and receptor density are very specific in each tissue to the processes they're involved in. if you put a whole lot of THC in you, which binds just like anandamide would, it's like having too much anandamide, which reduces receptor density. when you stop smoking, or adding extra THC, you produce normal levels but still have less receptors = disrupted normal functioning.
the constitution is written on hemp paper. most of the founding fathers of this country grew and smoked it. its a control thing for the facist police state we live in.
i love how none of the people arguing on this video seem to know anything about general pharmacology or neuroscience. i want it legal, i like using it, but like driving fast, you have to accept the risks that come with what you like. for those of you saying it's harmless and not addictive, do you deny evolution? climate change? the efficacy of vaccines? the official 9/11 commission report? because that's who you're lumping yourselves in with.
before i start watching this, i already feel like it'll be a dog-and-pony show. it may be decriminalized at the state level, maybe some more states make it legal medicinally, but too many people make too much money off the incarceration of non-violent offenders for it to ever become legal at the federal level. and it's a fucking shame... now let's see what they have to say.
the connection to schizophrenia is pretty week, infact weed may infact help those with schizophrenia, the connection to schizophrenia has been exploited by the anti-drug movment, many many schizophenics smoke weed to calm them down and regulate there moods...
@frustratedlogician norml.org /index.cfm? Group_ID=7908 has some info on this and talks about specific studies "the largest trial ever conducted comparing cannabis using and non-using schizophrenic patients reported no statistically significant "differences in syptomatology between schizophrenic patients who were or were not cannabis users" after controlling for patients' age, sex, and ethnicity."
@phoboskitty findings like this open great doors to future research. understanding the roll cb receptors play in schizophrenia could lead to novel treatments, could uncover new genetic markers of schizophrenia, and lead to earlier diagnoses. take in mind this study uses dronabinol, just one cannabinoid, while burned cannabis contains multiple that are active (not just THC, which is what they're mimicking with dronabinol). it's still important lines of research being opened up.
Most people in politics seems to come across with no 1st hand knowledge. Smoking marijuana can be harmful because of the smoke but you don't have to smoke it. You can prepare it in food or use a vaporizer. The former safer than the latter but the latter is a hell of a lot safer than smoke with lots of particles in your lungs. Having said that the exhaust from a car is way more harmful than using a vaporizer to inhale thc. Let's ban automobiles then.
I was a heavy smoker, but, due to a job, I quit. I did not have an addiction and basically quit it very easily. Not sure why people think it's addictive, hell, soda can be addictive, but depends on the person.
I'm stoned and happy right now, my friend on the other hand was out drinking last night and now he's in bits with a hangover ha ha. Give me the natural herb any day. Everyone knows that the laws concerning Cannabis and other substances are complete and utter bullshit, and governments kills more people than all illegal drugs combined, with there so-called "drugs war". Oh well that's corruption and ignorance for you I guess! Long live the Weed.
1) You cannot control anything that is illegal. Regulation and control can only be applied through legalization of substances. It's the law.
2) Cannabis is non-addictive. Those claiming addiction are referring to people with addictive personality traits who could just as easily be addicted to roller coasters.
3) As a schedule 1 drug laboratory research of medical qualities of cannabis is severely limited and findings are intentionally modified to meet FDA approval.
why is someone speaking about drugs if they never did them.. he doesnt know what he is talking about.. cannabis & weed is helpful to ppl with pain.. & there are no withdrawals from weed.. this is bullshit.. i smoke weed alot, & when there is none around, i couldnt give a shit..
@illuminatisos I think if you listen to him again you will see he supports your position. He may not use weed but he has influence at the capitol so it's good he is on your side. Just sayin. no disrespect meant.
@avmcokiejohn all i was saying is get someone who has exp with weed.. not someone who doesnt even drink!.. & im sure america has not shortage of ppl who smoke the good stuff!..
@Syeno dude i'm sorry, i'm on your side, but you're wrong. a) antitumor properties are not yet well understood--they exist, but we don't know why--and we know the smoke contains carcinogens--still don't know which is more prominent. b) smoking ANYTHING (even cinnamon sticks) is harmful. just bake it and eat it. and c) it's addictive in roughly 7-10% of users. if you're not one, good jorb.
i take science seriously. a quick search on sciencedirect or pubmed will vindicate what i wrote.
honestly ..I live in holland and that smoking weeds is not addictive is a haox ..I smoke weed with me alot more people..it can be used as a tool and like any other tool it is the person that uses it that is responsable for how addictive it is ..people also get addicted to games and cellphones...if the person is sensetive to addiction that person will be addictive to what ever at hand.. I am pro weed but know that it is not all good..but it is not weed that is at fault..but are the people ready ?
I'M AN ADDICT AND I CAN SAY WITH STRONG EVIDENCE THAT MARY J IS NOT ADDICTIVE NOR IS IT A GATEWAY DRUG...MY EXPERIENCE IS THAT I STARTED DOING COCAINE BEFORE I STARTED SMOKING WEED...THE GATEWAY ARGUMENT IS MADE ONLY BY THOSE THAT HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCE ANY TYPE OF DRUG ABUSE...I CURRENTLY AM A LIGHT SMOKER...THE LAST TIME I USED WAS 8 MONTHS AGO AND AM NOT OR HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANY TYPE OF WITHDRAWAL...
@mjgon64 funny I also did cocaine but hated it and there for I did not became an addict XD haha it was experimental and it stayed that way ...it is the strength of the mind that determents your sensetivety to addiction in general it does not matter what tool you use to be addicted to ....still with what I have seen it is very strong to quit coke so well done ! (sorry for my bad english )
Marijuana potency increased because breeders give a fuck. not because they were ignored by government regulation. Just stop busting people and fuck off.
the lower rungs of The Democratic Party (EX: Rep. Jared Polis) are on the right side of this issue. This, and the support of student aid, are my personal reasons for leaning towards voting Dem. THAT BEING SAID, I can't vote for the Democrats with a clear conscience. Even if guys like Rep. Polis have good sense, the higher ups in the party do not! (EX: Obama, Clinton, etc)
he left one thing out,in ALL of the thousands of years of marijuana usage,no one has EVER died from it.
"so whys its illegal i dunno.asprin is perfectly legal but if you take thirteen of them motherfuckers -it'll be your last headache" -comedian katt williams
weed is NOT addictive and it is NOT harmful (it is habit forming - like for instance drinking tea, I drink tea every morning and this is what I PREFER to do, however is there no tea I do not get withdrawal sympthoms.)
It is the most humanly COMPATIBLE plant on the entire planet and helps with Illnesses related to a multitude of different aspects of our health. INCLUDING MENTAL ILLNESS. For instance dementia. And that is just ONE out of hundreds of illnesses.
@darrenritt27 LoL dude. That is not true. It's habitual like coffee.. Would you say that coffee is psychologically addictive? People can grow accustomed to it. And it is allot less habitually addictive then cigarettes are..
@Arperture2008 Caffeine and Nicotine are Physically addictive. Weed is Psychologically adddictive. I drink a pot of coffee everyday and smoke ciggs. Its very hard for me to quit those but i have no problem putting down the Mary J for extended periods of time. Thats my expericence.
@TheAnubisDrake LoL. Look up or watch Refer Madness dude, then you'll understand what I mean about paranoid schizophrenia. What part of the definition (for psychologically) has to do with your addiction to weed? Especially with the whole emotional aspect. Do you get emotional when you don't got weed or after you just smoked it? That's crazy talk (definition) for psychologist.. And it is how black chicks always act (J/K)..
@Arperture2008 I never said I was "addicted" to weed. I said it was psychologically addictive. Like video games or gambling. It feels good so people like to do it. Some people can take it to far and become addicted to it. Unlike some other drugs such as caffeine or nicotine which your body builds a dependence on. This brings about a physical addiction.
The part of the definition I would associate with the use of MJ would be "2. Of, relating to, or arising from the mind."
@TheAnubisDrake Did you even read the definition for cognitive? It's OK if you were wrong bro, I'm not gonna hold it against you or anything, I'm not gonna call you a goober or anything. Read the definition for cognition then tell me what word you should be using instead. I use to use the same word as you to describe the addiction then I did more reading on the subject. It's OK dude, one day you will come around and quit calling it the crazy emotional addiction..
Cognition: Cognition is the scientific term for mental processes. These processes include attention, remembering, producing and understanding language, solving problems, and making decisions. Cognition is studied in various disciplines such as psychology, philosophy, linguistics, and computer science. (cont)
@TheAnubisDrake@darrenritt27 Usage of the term varies in different disciplines; for example in psychology and cognitive science, it usually refers to an information processing view of an individual's psychological functions. It is also used in a branch of social psychology called social cognition to explain attitudes, attribution and groups dynamics.
@Arperture2008 nope it is reality that is screwed up haha smoking just makes you see and not smoking makes it easiers to just go allong with the propaganda !
@darrenritt27 I think the word your looking for cognitively addicetive, not psychologically, there's nothing crazy about it's addiction, and if your referring to Refer Madness, no it don't make people psychotic but it can help identify those who are going to be paranoid schizophrenics later on in life.
@Arperture2008 Im not saying theres anything crazy about its addiction. Im saying that i have a craving to be in that state of mind when i get stressed of just want to chill. Hence the term Psychologically addictive. As for Reefer Madness that was utter nonsense and propaganda.
@Arperture2008 Look up the term Psychological Addiction. I believe people get addicted to the feeling of euphoria and stress relieving properties of weed. Either way Weed should be legal. "Its not a War on Drugs it a War on Personal Freedom, keep that in mind at all times" ~ Bill Hicks
@darrenritt27 Hicks was great but he was wrong too, like I said I use to use the same term to describe it's addiction but I read some more words and their definitions. I don't understand why you have not read the definition for cognition yet, it actually includes your word "psychologically" in it...
@Arperture2008 What was hicks wrong about? Cognition is the scientific term for mental processes. It doesnt specifically apply to Psychological addiction.
@darrenritt27 Hicks was wrong for saying its a crazy emotional addiction. I'm sorry guys it is not a crazy emotional addiction, it is habitually cognitively addictive...
@Arperture2008 Ohhh i didnt know he said that. Well i dont agree with that but i still think its Psychologically Addictive. I guess we just have to agree to disagree here.
@Arperture2008 Evidence suggests that ‘neuroadaptation’ results from addictive behaviors, thereby ‘training’ the brain to want and need the substance or object, so that addiction can occur even without an ingested substance. In these cases, the patient is addicted to the feeling they get from the activity, situation or object, and while the brain chemistry does change after intake, this change is because of the emotional and mental gratification, not because of a true physical dependency.
@darrenritt27 much of modern addiction theory suggests that the addiction to the situation/process of seeking/using is because of the reinforcing properties of the drug. if you seek amphetamine, go through the whole sequence, then are rewarded for it by its' reinforcing properties (DA release in VTA and NAcc), you form a connection not just between drug and reward, but between process and reward too. you can separate the two after the fact, but it was still learned by the drug's initial actions.
@Arperture2008 Thats Psychiatrist not Psychologist. Psychology is the science of studying behavior and mental processes. It doesnt mean "Crazy People"
@darrenritt27 My god dude.. psychiatrist go to school and they are taught psychology...OMG man.. I'm done with you guys.. What's the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist? Not much.. Both kinds of professionals treat people with problems that vary widely by degree and type, from mild anxiety to schizophrenia. Both can practice psychotherapy, and both can do research. The short answer is, psychiatrists are medical doctors and psychologists are not....
@Arperture2008 The way i see it Psychiatrists are drug pushers for Big Pharma while Psychologists are not. A Psychiatrist has a degree in Medicine while a Psychologist has a doctoral-level degree in psychology.
@darrenritt27@Arperture2008 seriously??? psychiatrists practice on the general public, like an MD. psychologists are anyone with a doctoral psych degree, whether they're researchers or practitioners. all psychiatrists are psychologists, not all psychologists are psychiatrists.
@frustratedlogician I understand what you are saying but that doesnt change my statement. I never said Psychiatrist didnt have degrees in Psychology. Psychiatrists are Drug Pushers for Big Pharma.

Raelsatu 5 months ago
Great video. Pollis covers all the bases, except his only flaw is saying that all other drugs apart from cannabis should remain illegal. Cartels and gangs will still be able to thrive and inflict violence, especially since they'll refocus their production/distribution onto harder drugs. I suppose cannabis is a great start, but eventually all substances will need to be legal; because the cons far outweigh the pros.

I actually dont want marijuana to be legalized, because that means if you want a Gram which is worth $20. If legalized that same Gram will be worth $40. I dont think I want to pay more for the same amount just so it can be legal. I am sorry but I dont agree with this.
WhatsAfterThisPlace 5 months ago
@WhatsAfterThisPlace

@leechmasterb and i'm not saying all drugs are bad. i'm just saying you don't want to mess with your normal state too much or too often. i don't abuse alcohol, but i like having a couple beers. tylenol will destroy your liver if you OD, but i'd still take it for a bad headache. try smoking weed five times a day every day for a couple years, then quit cold turkey, and see if it doesn't take you a week to "get back to normal."
frustratedlogician 5 months ago
@leechmasterb "drug" means something that interferes with normal biochemistry. ibuprofen blocks COX-2; its a drug. THC activates CB receptors more abundantly than anandamide; its a drug. the 2nd half of your comment shows you don't have a basic understanding of the subject at hand. and @MIB205 you're confusion "drug" with "nutrient." bread is full of molecules, some nutritious, some don't interact. nutrients are part of your natural biochemistry, drugs alter your natural biochemistry.
frustratedlogician 5 months ago
@leechmasterb bc someone said "it's not a drug." you produce anandamide, not THC. the amt you produce and receptor density are very specific in each tissue to the processes they're involved in. if you put a whole lot of THC in you, which binds just like anandamide would, it's like having too much anandamide, which reduces receptor density. when you stop smoking, or adding extra THC, you produce normal levels but still have less receptors = disrupted normal functioning.

phoboskitty 5 months ago

1) You cannot control anything that is illegal. Regulation and control can only be applied through legalization of substances. It's the law.
2) Cannabis is non-addictive. Those claiming addiction are referring to people with addictive personality traits who could just as easily be addicted to roller coasters.
3) As a schedule 1 drug laboratory research of medical qualities of cannabis is severely limited and findings are intentionally modified to meet FDA approval.
...and the list goes on and on

weed is NOT addictive and it is NOT harmful (it is habit forming - like for instance drinking tea, I drink tea every morning and this is what I PREFER to do, however is there no tea I do not get withdrawal sympthoms.)
It is the most humanly COMPATIBLE plant on the entire planet and helps with Illnesses related to a multitude of different aspects of our health. INCLUDING MENTAL ILLNESS. For instance dementia. And that is just ONE out of hundreds of illnesses.

@TheAnubisDrake @darrenritt27 If you guys are paranoid schizophrenics, it's not weed that caused it..
Arperture2008 5 months ago
@Arperture2008 psychologically:
1. Of or relating to psychology: psychological research.
2. Of, relating to, or arising from the mind or emotions.
3. Influencing or intended to influence the mind or emotions: psychological warfare.
4. Of or being any of certain primary colors whose mixture may be subjectively conceived as producing other colors.
Has nothing to do with psychopathy or paranoid schizophrenia.
TheAnubisDrake 5 months ago
@TheAnubisDrake LoL. Look up or watch Refer Madness dude, then you'll understand what I mean about paranoid schizophrenia. What part of the definition (for psychologically) has to do with your addiction to weed? Especially with the whole emotional aspect. Do you get emotional when you don't got weed or after you just smoked it? That's crazy talk (definition) for psychologist.. And it is how black chicks always act (J/K)..
Arperture2008 5 months ago
@Arperture2008 I never said I was "addicted" to weed. I said it was psychologically addictive. Like video games or gambling. It feels good so people like to do it. Some people can take it to far and become addicted to it. Unlike some other drugs such as caffeine or nicotine which your body builds a dependence on. This brings about a physical addiction.
The part of the definition I would associate with the use of MJ would be "2. Of, relating to, or arising from the mind."
We like it so we do it.

Arperture2008 5 months ago
@TheAnubisDrake I meant definition of cognition**
Arperture2008 5 months ago
@TheAnubisDrake @darrenritt27
Cognition: Cognition is the scientific term for mental processes. These processes include attention, remembering, producing and understanding language, solving problems, and making decisions. Cognition is studied in various disciplines such as psychology, philosophy, linguistics, and computer science. (cont)
Arperture2008 5 months ago
@TheAnubisDrake @darrenritt27 Usage of the term varies in different disciplines; for example in psychology and cognitive science, it usually refers to an information processing view of an individual's psychological functions. It is also used in a branch of social psychology called social cognition to explain attitudes, attribution and groups dynamics.
Arperture2008 5 months ago
@Arperture2008 nope it is reality that is screwed up haha smoking just makes you see and not smoking makes it easiers to just go allong with the propaganda !
Ab0lic 5 months ago
@darrenritt27 I think the word your looking for cognitively addicetive, not psychologically, there's nothing crazy about it's addiction, and if your referring to Refer Madness, no it don't make people psychotic but it can help identify those who are going to be paranoid schizophrenics later on in life.
Arperture2008 5 months ago
@Arperture2008 Im not saying theres anything crazy about its addiction. Im saying that i have a craving to be in that state of mind when i get stressed of just want to chill. Hence the term Psychologically addictive. As for Reefer Madness that was utter nonsense and propaganda.
darrenritt27 5 months ago
@darrenritt27 Look up the definition for words cognitive and psycho bro..
Arperture2008 5 months ago
@Arperture2008 Look up the term Psychological Addiction. I believe people get addicted to the feeling of euphoria and stress relieving properties of weed. Either way Weed should be legal. "Its not a War on Drugs it a War on Personal Freedom, keep that in mind at all times" ~ Bill Hicks
darrenritt27 5 months ago
@darrenritt27 Hicks was great but he was wrong too, like I said I use to use the same term to describe it's addiction but I read some more words and their definitions. Arperture2008 5 months ago
@Arperture2008 What was hicks wrong about? Cognition is the scientific term for mental processes. It doesnt specifically apply to Psychological addiction.

Arperture2008 5 months ago

Arperture2008 5 months ago
@Arperture2008 Ohhh i didnt know he said that. Well i dont agree with that but i still think its Psychologically Addictive. I guess we just have to agree to disagree here.
darrenritt27 5 months ago
@darrenritt27 It is not a crazy emotional addiction, cause thats what your saying when you call it, psychologically addictive..
Arperture2008 5 months ago
@Arperture2008 Evidence suggests that ‘neuroadaptation’ results from addictive behaviors, thereby ‘training’ the brain to want and need the substance or object, so that addiction can occur even without an ingested substance. In these cases, the patient is addicted to the feeling they get from the activity, situation or object, and while the brain chemistry does change after intake, this change is because of the emotional and mental gratification, not because of a true physical dependency.
darrenritt27 5 months ago 18

lopendepaddo 5 months ago
@darrenritt27 much of modern addiction theory suggests that the addiction to the situation/process of seeking/using is because of the reinforcing properties of the drug. if you seek amphetamine, go through the whole sequence, then are rewarded for it by its' reinforcing properties (DA release in VTA and NAcc), you form a connection not just between drug and reward, but between process and reward too. you can separate the two after the fact, but it was still learned by the drug's initial actions.
frustratedlogician 5 months ago

As in "Of, relating to, or arising from the mind OR emotions."
Yes I read the definition for cognition years ago and again today, since you are shoveling 3 messages at me for each one I send you.
Both terms are accurate and proper. Your insistence that "psychologically" means emotion only is not helping your cause for the use of another word.
