They are not a christian band. They've said so themselves, doesn't mean they worship the devil though. They do focus on a lot of hypocrisies within the religeous worlds, and the governmental systems out there. Pretty much anything that makes a good metal song material.
And you guys should check out some of these bands and see their genres. Like I pointed out, Death Metal has many sub-genres. I never once said Christian death metal wasn't a sub-genre, just that you make assumptions that everything classed as death metal is about gore and violence. Definitions have obviously changed since years ago when this type of music was dar and anti-religious. But if you have so many issues with how they are classed, why take it out here?

Ones belief system doesn't negate ones talent. Hatebreed writes lyrics about overcoming adversity and trials but no one is trying to label them a Christian band. I know plenty of musicians in metal bands that go to church and you would never know it unless you knew them personally. Their belief system is sacred to them. This really shouldn't even be an argument at all if you don't like something about it or them don't listen it's as simple as that.

Music is but a vehicle, and can be used in a variety of ways. Being heavy and screaming doesn't necessarily mean negative, since there are many metal bands that are not (Christian and otherwise.)

There are plenty of good metal bands that are Christian, mainly some of the old-school heavy metal bands, but death metal's best bands tend to be Satanic/anti-Christian or at the very least irreverent.

If you want to see it that way, you can't look at the genre of death metal, you have to look at it's sub-genres. You are thinking about Deathcore/black metal. That is what they are classed as by the music industry. If you have an issue with genre classifying, take it up with them.

Ones belief system doesn't negate ones talent. Hatebreed writes lyrics about overcoming adversity and trials but no one is trying to label them a Christian band. I know plenty of musicians in metal bands that go to church and you would never know it unless you knew them personally. Their belief system is sacred to them. This really shouldn't even be an argument at all if you don't like something about it or them don't listen it's as simple as that.

Music is but a vehicle, and can be used in a variety of ways. Being heavy and screaming doesn't necessarily mean negative, since there are many metal bands that are not (Christian and otherwise.)
The TRUTH is that music is what you make it, not the other way around.

There are plenty of good metal bands that are Christian, mainly some of the old-school heavy metal bands, but death metal's best bands tend to be Satanic/anti-Christian or at the very least irreverent.

If you want to see it that way, you can't look at the genre of death metal, you have to look at it's sub-genres. You are thinking about Deathcore/black metal. That is what they are classed as by the music industry. If you have an issue with genre classifying, take it up with them.
