@TheBloodyFreak I suppose it depends on what we think is good fathering. Goku was nice and patient with Gohan and Goten, but his childlish outlook often made him look irresponsible. Vegeta, though rough around the edges, came to care about Trunks during the Cell Saga; this was evident through his reaction when Future Trunks was killed (fought Cell recklessly out of rage even though Krillin said they could have brought him back with the dragonballs)

@TheBloodyFreak (continued) and giving more notice to baby/young Trunks. What I've noticed is even when Vegeta was coarse, you could tell that he really did care about Bulma and Trunks. In the manga/anime when Vegeta and Trunks are training, Vegeta said he would take Trunks to the amusement park if he could hit his face. Trunks succeeds even though Vegeta hits back as an impulse, and tells the tearful Trunks "Quit crying, I'm taking you to the amusement park."
