  • Do all of the sounds have to be input into the KP3?

I have a little yellow kaossilator and I've been trying to get a pro for between £150 and £200. Just found a KP3 for £180 and I wanted to know if it had it's own sounds and whether or not I can just link the little one with it.

    (??????????)

  • hi very good videos, I want to buy something to make music, my friends and I sing but we make our own beats. which is what I recommend for starters, KP3 or microSAMPLER? and that more need to start?

    thanks and greetings from mexico

  • Das nächste mal solltest du die Gaudi von der Seite oder so aufnehemn, man sieh nix, aber is ja auch egal, sp der hit ises ja ned ;)

  • is there a time limit for your samples on those ABCD banks?

  • kp3 without vocal loops is fail in my opinion ^^

  • kids as you mature you will then come to understand, if it sounds good really who gives a fuk what type of music it is, just listen enjoy

  • Lay off the reverb and you got it man. Other than that it was good.

  • i just shaved

  • you suck at this

  • no se puede tienes que conentar a una entrada de audio

  • can some one explain this to me, can you just hook this thing up to some speakers or use headphones?

  • like kylie - higher! ^^

  • Does one take life by the balls by simply having fun or is there a greater purpose? It's a question to ponder. I don't want to be an accountant all my life, it would suck. But I would find greater satisfaction in academia than ephemerality. I think it was J Bentham (the 'greatest happiness to most people' guy) said something like: there are levels of happiness. Intellectual rates above brevity. I tend to agree. Again, ask urself, would you prefer to party all your life or solve climate change?

  • Music sounds sick on this, but its tactile nature has been totally removed. Furthermore, it requires a new skill while subverting an old one. Fine, fine, I can appreciate the new one, but I doubt there will be any great riffs produced for or by this machine. So I ask ya, what sounds better, Beardyman beatboxing or something timeless like Stairway to Heaven, Roxanne, Georgia On My Mind etc? Is this machine doomed to ephemerality like everything else nowadays?

  • where did you get the sound in the intro from reason, is it a thor patch?

  • I have a question. can you for example record guitar loops into a loop station (such as the RC20) then connect the output of that into the input of the kaoss pad 3 and add synth sounds and stuff from the pad to loop thats being played?

  • Nice piece, and I like your ending ;)

  • Sausage fingers.

  • @Reketh stfu

  • @Mr10Lap

If your too lazy to type it out, then please, don't type it at all.

  • @Reketh i don't really care,

  • Are these samples you've recorded and programed into the KP3? or are these already in the Kaoss KP3?

  • @ZACHDISASTER Tha KP3 don't contain any samples. You need to upload them into to a SD card. If you want sounds & samples produced by a pad machine, you're searching a Kaossilator.

  • @ZACHDISASTER mean

if you want a kaoss pad you need a kaossilator first or any gadget

  • that's funny.... the loop that comes in at 0:57 sounds like something from castle crashers. haha

  • @purklefluff mean if you want a kaoss pad you need a kaossilator or any gadget like guitar or anything

  • @purklefluff mean if you want a kaoss pad you need a kaossilator or any gadget like guitar or anything that can produces sound

  • hella-rad

  • nice! :)

  • @VJbasti check out my our vid =)

  • is there a way to turn off the echo that is in most of the settings?

  • Keep up the practice :)

  • @FuzzyNuggers you need to respect other musicians

  • @FuzzyNuggers that's like telling an adequate guitar player he isn't nearly as good as Jimi Hendrix.

  • Insanity...

  • awesome, awesome stuff mate

  • very nice work :) my favorit song this day

  • Hey can anybody tell me how i could use this live? I play drums and currently have a Korg Wavedrum and a Roland Spd-s and I wanna get the kaoss pad to add some different vibes. Would i need my own mixer?

  • you can insert the kp3 between your wavedrum and amp or your roland spd-s and amp.

  • @damnnargles ..... i actually need the same answer! please help???

  • what is the difference between the KP2 and the KP3?

  • kp3 has 4 sample buttons not 2, the squares light up where you touch it, makes it alot easier to remember where you left it :)

  • why isnt the tempo button lighting up? mine does :/

  • No, cause it's a great sampler too, it has more effects than a miniKP, it has lot more options to control those effects, it is a midi controller too.

    It's just better :)

  • the kaossilater is a synthesizer (producer of sound) and mini kp is the younger brother to the KP3.

  • No. much much more. it does live sampling as well.

  • Reason + KP3 = Win.

Can't wait 'til I get my KP3, even though I'm a heavy metal guitarist xD

  • Yes, and whoever marked your comment as spam needs to look up the definition.

  • will you be hooking it up to your guitar ?

  • I will be running my guitar through it, yes.

And I will also probably make a series of videos trying to *completely* cover the features of it for people who are learning to use it or are completely obsessed with it and want it very badly (like me)

  • @ToX23in be sure to let me know when you do this series of videos, the standard of documentation that comes with it is very very poor, i could do with some more help.

  • @lanswipe

I got it a couple months after I posted my comment, and started to make the videos, but the problem was that my computer is getting old and wont recognize my camera anymore. So no videos for a long while :I

  • @ToX23in damn

  • @ToX23in wow. same

  • @ToX23in LOL same here dude. I play an 8 string and have been using reason and the kp3 to do some serious damage with it hahaha.

  • Comment removed

  • @ToX23in you should be a producer then

  • @ToX23in I went from playing heavy metal guitar for 8 years in a band to buying a drum machine, a synth, a KPQ and Im getting my KP3 today :P youre not alone ! :P

  • @zeFatMANxx hahahaha, so funny. Same story here, metal jamming to electro jamming

  • @ToX23in damn, how do you use the KP3 with reason?

  • @kunit135

The KP3 is a pain to try and get to work with reason, control surface wise.

You have to go through the KP3 editor and reconfigure the buttons to actions in Reason; it's complicated and I haven't messed around with it enough to give a detailed response.

  • Sick! :)

  • ahh soo awesome can i use this in my video game im making!

  • holy shit I want this so bad

  • wow this is cool bro :) but i have one question, where did u get those sounds ;) i would really appreciate it if you tell me how can i get beats and effects :D

  • Thor in Reason

  • what is the name of the original song?

  • word dude great vid!!

  • ive now been watching tons of dif vids of kool synths like this, and stuff like enter shikari

    2 questions

1 does creating these sweet tracks take need much skill?

and 2 what is the generic price range ?

  • I just starting making loops myself. It isn't particularly hard using a software synthesizer; I use various types in Sonar 7 Producer Edition.

BUT, you do need to have a basic knowledge of music theory. It'll also make things a lot quicker if you know scales otherwise it takes a lot of trial and error to get your loops sounding the way you want.

It's time consuming but a lot of fun!

  • price is usually £300, just ordered mine :D

    M

  • 1: you need practice. you also need software on the copmuter with the songs on, this guys is most probably triggering the songs on his pc from his kaoss pad. i could be wrong.

    2: £250 - £300 (UK)

  • just got one and it is amazing! check out beardyman playing entire live sets with just 2 of these and his badass beatbox skills. Sick!

  • this thing is HOTNESS! Where can i get one?

  • yyyy... Music Store?

  • google, KORG kaoss pad 3

  • I rele need to get one of those. u did this entire song all on that little piece of equipment?

  • no, he used software called reason to create the loops. Very true the thor synthesizer is amazing :D

  • 5 star!!!

  • Can you change a loop you have on a pad at the time you re playing?

  • Did you record this? Can I get a download link? :3

  • i like kaoss pad!!!

  • That was really good,

    =D

  • In fact, on reflection, What a well pieced put together choreography with the tool. Well done BOX.

  • I think this is a pretty cool example. I like it!

  • Why must there be a certain style? It's just music. :)

  • very awesome i can't wait till i get one of those

  • so good

  • These are mint. How does everything work? I've heard you can hook one up to synths and stuff? But here it's shown to sample too. The possibilities are endless!

  • Could you tell me where I can get the MIDI samples?

    BTW Awesome!!!!

  • kaliko i'm using my pad with a soundblaster x-fi.. i put the two pins (red & white)into my audio card. The x-fi has an external face.. if you don't have this kind of video cards, i think you can use it with your mixer :).. Sorry for the bad english, i'm italian.

  • does it need its own channel or does it go after your mixer?

  • it can go anywhere you want it

its got RCA in and out, put it in line of anything you want or after your mixer, or better yet on the effect send of your mixer so you can put any combination of any of your instruments through it.

probably the most versatile piece of gear ive got

  • can u hook it up to the pc ?

  • yeah you can

  • amm a quick question for any one who knows. amm. the kaoss pad 03 has to be plugged to the computer? does it have to? or does it work by it self? cuz you can make the sounds with your mouth and record on each track to make a beat. which is what the owner of this video does some times. eh?

cuz im dj ing but i want to add this to the songs. like making a beat over any song depending on the song's tempo.

    any suggestion??

  • No the KP3 does not need to be connected to any computer, however it does have support for import export of sounds. Just connect a mic to the mic jack and sample straight away. You could also connect and remix/fx stuff directly from your ipod if you feel like it.

"making a beat over any song depending on the song's tempo"

Yeapp you could do that easily, remember the KP3 was made to be used by DJ's.

It's easy to use and fun as hell.

  • thanks man that helped allot . i might get that kp3

  • I have one question, this Kaoss is for using with one computer??? or they work with pre-sounds? Can you put in the korg the samples and them they not more need use computer?

    How works?

  • You use a memory card to hold the sounds (samples). You only need a computer to put the sounds into the KP3, not to use it.

  • i really want to get into dj ing does anyone have any tips on what i should start with

  • hmm start small with pioneer cdj200 or cdj600 so you can get the feel, its all in the mixer so try the djm700,djm800 or djm909 they are the best, when u get good with your cdj you can upgrade to tthe cdj800 MKII or cdj100 MKIII which are top of the line but look to spend around 4000(USD) on that alone or on the first one around 2500(USD)

  • hi travinski

first get a coupleof turntables (technics 1200/1210s ideal but anything will do) and a basic mixer. then get a looooaaaaadddd of records and play them continuously peace al

  • how about an ipod into a mixer into the KP3 and then headphones or speakers from the KP3?

  • thatll work.

try speakers, they are better in the long run.

  • You know, your opening is reminiscent of the house of the rising sun. So is all of that organ loop, obviously.

not a bad little track all told, you could get a bit more variation in, even risk loading another sample?

  • Actually I've just tried that, it cuts the other samples out. You'd have to fade in another track though the inputs. Still it can work, if you know the bpm you're going into, or destroy your samples (looping, graining, filters etc), start a track and then take them out. But yeah, three and a half minutes of a 4 bar loop like this, even with the effects, it gets old.

  • excellent!

i really like the melody and the bassline!

    decent mix mate! well done!

  • yes

  • hey I gotta question man

if you sample say a kick drum for A, a snare for B, a tomtom for C, a Crash for D could you use it as a drum pad kinda thing?

  • yes, you can set one shot samples and press pads for a sound. although you could get a cheap drum machine cheaper and have more pads.

  • yeah I know

but I wanna sample like vocals and other shit

plus I already have korg emx

this thing is almost all I need for now

  • cool!

  • xe pero k crack

  • great stuff, the only negative point is your hand work, it fucks up the manual looping part, cause your not on the beat 3 or 4 times when you press the button, otherwise, nice musical search

  • hw many samples can u save it in?

  • Man, you really have a feeling for good music :)

  • so wait im new to this u can make all those sounds from, this alone cuz i wana get in2 doin this i love it

  • no, the kaoss pad 3 doesnt make its own sounds. except a few drum beats/

  • synth too! but with a fucking delay!!

  • yeah, synth sounds, but you cant really make tunes with them. and yes, fucknig delay!

  • That was sick!!

I've been looking around youtube for a cool video of the KP3 to decide if I want to buy it, and I think I've decided!

Do you premake all your tracks in reason?

  • we have discovered daft punk

  • that was sick man

  • Very nice , you are one of the best user of the KP3.

  • I second that, this is very good stuff. Congrats!

  • nice,nice,nice.

after all that 07-testing you should go for an 08-song...good luck!
