Yes, Edie was obviously Susan's favorite, and Susan was an obvious Edie wannabee. Susan turned up drunk on the set of Chelsea Girls and was ridiculed. They weren't ALL assholes, thank God. Susan has admitted that she was a problem drinker then. Also a high school drop-out, hired by Warhol at 18. She is Exhibit A in the case against Warhol.
she certainly was welcome company in a ghost world. What about the music credits. That's a cool group. You have an incredible resource of music and musical taste. Obviously you have made something out of living in La La Land.
I really enjoyed this. :) What's apparent to me is that Susan had a very 'precious', 'untouchable' quality about her - something which may have 'saved' her rather than the other '60s set casualties like Nico, Edie, and the loony Andrea Feldman. I think Susan was instinctively geared towards self-preservation, and this contained aloofness she had shone through in photographs and video. For someone who was so young at the time - 16 or 17 - she was a pro on the scene. Btw, I LOVE 2:58 and 3:44 :)
At 3:16 that's Edie on the Far Left with the Book & Pen and Susan is on the Far Right So I mean they seem to have gotten along well enough to be in a photo don't know?
God, is that Edie on the far left of 3:16?? Her hair looks a lot different, or something. Haha, Susan kinda looks like she's in awe of Edie! Not that I blame her, mind you.. Edie was The Original.
Yes, that's Edie wearing a wig (I forget why, it may have been for a film). I've got some close ups of her in it. It's funny, it looks like it could be one of Andy's.
Aw how sweet, it's cool to know they liked each other! Now I also remember in that Susan documentary here on Youtube, she said Edie was her favourite person at the Factory.
@ xXPinkGoddessXx - Yep, Susan was both hot and refined. Absolutely. That's such a rare find, isn't it? Especially nowadays. It's like hot = trashy these days. It sucks. :-(
Gosh, did Susan meet Edie? Would there be any info about that in Andy Warhol's diaries, I wonder?
Yes, that combination of high society breeding and 60's 'youthquaker' rebellion made girls like Susan and Edie very attractive, didn't it? I suppose Paris Hilton is the modern day equivalent, though as you said her kind is far trashier.
