wish I could help you out with your dream of riding. but hey I would say go find a local rodeo or something somewhere and see if anyone there knows someone who has a horse you can ride for free or for cheap at least. I let people ride my 28 year old all the time ( which no he's not just a dead beat horse who just plods around the pen lol i still ride him too) or ask your dad if you can put an ad on craigslist asking if anyone would do some cheap lessons for you.

@Ralfie27 Yeah, unfortunetly I'm still stuck with the breyers :( Riding about 7 years, three different stable yards and can still tell people which stable each horse was in, every horses age, so many memories :) I am lucky though, my friend owns horses and I ride one of hers, who I love to bits, I practically own him now :)

This song made me cry too, because its so true. Exactly absolutely true. I used to play with breyer model horses when I was little and still collect them, and now I'm 16 and my riding career is finally coming together after a series of bad trainers, with my new eventing instructor. I just got news that my mare that I owned for seven years suddenly passed away yesterday. I had to sell her to a good friend two years ago cuz i could no longer afford her.. but I always kept in touch with her. I have cried so much today. That horse and I had a bond like no other, and did things that most horse owners don't do with their horses in a whole lifetime. She was my world and gave me the wings to fly. RIP Brandy girl.

i love this song. horses are always there for me through the tough time, and all they ask for is for love and care. Sometimes in the pasture i just sit on my horse as he grazes because i know he would never try to hurt me. Thank you for putting into words and to a melody. I guess THANK YOU is all I can say. It's true they are the safety net. I'm 21 and my Dad just died of lung cancer. It's been a crappy few months. The day after he was diagnosed I went to the barn, got on bareback and sat there and cried. The next few months followed with many important trips to the barn and I'm sure they will continue for those days when moving forward seem too hard. Thank you again from a fellow horse girl.

I really needed this. I don't have any horses of my own, but I grew up with my sister's horses, and I ride my neighbor's horses. But watching this just made me realize how much of an impact they had on my life. They're my comfort zone, and kind of escape for me. I don't know what it is about them, they're almost surreal, magical. I'm 19, and my neighbor's gelding has my heart for right now. The more I learn about young guys, the more I love that horse, because I know he'll never break my heart.
