  • stiff little fingers and the clash are rad

  • I bought the 3 eps yesterday now im jst sitting on mah comfy bean bag chair haha nd im drinking tea nd watching this movie with this plain in the back ground

  • How can anyone think awesome Stiff little fingers is shitty Green day

  • White people...

  • Fuckin' Barry's just forcing people to buy albums...

  • And...I am proud to say...that I DO own a vinyl copy of Blonde On Blonde, thank you very much!

  • haha ian willaims from don caballero and battles at 1:54 nice cameo

  • Why'd those punks have to shoplift i wanted to listen to that song! I can't believe I only just watched this movie a couple days ago!

  • Sheldon's girlfriend!

  • Its kind of bullshit that he pops in the Three Eps and it automatically plays the best part. Having said that i've played this shit at my job and when that part starts people stop to ask me what im listening to. So well done.

  • This movie has all the best actors and than some.

  • how does he get the cd to start on track four, about 4 minutes into the middle of the song?

  • @Volcanic9 "Dry the Rain" is on track 1 on "The Three EPs". get your facts straight :)

  • Cusack is a COCK! saying that,so is Jack Black and that other up his arse cunt that looks like Moby! fuckin know it all wankers!

  • @petergriffin11000 Remember, they're "characters" in a movie.

  • @arockj Yeah! lol! Bit of a rant init? :)

  • @petergriffin11000 its called 'playing characters' - they fit the book

  • I can't hear what jack black is saying at the beginning - which record is he saying is hard to find? it sound like "the moon and pay"

  • @superwesman

He's saying The Killing Moon Ep by echo and the bunnymen a new wave band from the 80's that ruled too much for the world to handle.

  • ok, i bought one. anybody else?

  • @dolchi21 yep!

  • Ian Williams from Don Caballero and Battles appears at 1:26

  • @90Boone you're not the first one who noticed that - check the previous comments

  • @90Boone I know, WTF!

  • Of course he plays the most accessible song from that EP, at the chorus, after the languid intro.

  • The pronounciation in Greek for Beta 'B' (or the second letter of the alphabet) is Vita.

    Great movie...one of my favourites

  • @mindioanni Whatever, they're a British band (Scottish to be precise) and in the UK we say 'bee-ta'..

  • Comment removed

  • @shareschannel "We"? I'm English. I say Bee-ta. "If we have a brain"? WTF? My friend, you don't seem to understand the difference between Great Britain, the United Kingdom and England (or they're/there/their for that matter). Scotland is part of Great Britain therefore British includes being from Scotland. They are a Scottish band. They're a British band. Both true.

  • @ChipBoard66 British people (including Scottish...) are always right....

    :-D

  • Why did I feel the very sudden need to go out and buy Blonde on Blonde after watching this film :/

  • that is perverse... don't tell anybody you don't own Blonde on Blonde

  • I miss life before 2001. Oh, that and the internet has ruined music because there are no more record stores like this around anymore .....

  • Americans, stop pronouncing Beta Band wrong. I know that "Beta" in Greek is pronounced "bay-ta" but the band themselves pronounce in "bee-ta." That's the way they wanted it to be pronounced. I'd hate it if I had a band and people kept pronouncing the name wrong.

  • Pause it right at the end @ 2:29. Awesome running still (also Jack Black running). :)

  • SLF FOR THE FUCKIN WIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Blonde on Blonde should be in motels next to Bibles. Every house I've been invited to has it in one form or another. It's just there, and you dont question it.

So yeah, not owning it is kinda perverse.

  • ok...i love music..but not sure what movie this is from..im a movie idiot..

  • @misschefbush given the title of the film is in the title of the video i'd say you're just an idiot plain and simple...no offence.

  • Ian Williams!

  • Yeah this scene made me buy the 3 ep's!

  • "I will now sale five copies of the "Three EPs" by the Beta Band." -- "Do it!"

  • Well the interesting thing about Green Day is........that they are fucking shit!!!!!!

  • @hellraiser917 HA Ha. Thats funny!

  • @hellraiser917 They weren't at the time :/

  • Comment removed

  • @hellraiser917 They didn't used to be that bad in the early 90s... (Kerplunk) but they did manage to prostitute punk in the end, i'll grant you that.

  • @sweetsweetchimera No they wanted to be punk but they never were! This band and other bands like them are everything that is wrong with music today! They are and always were a terrible band!

  • Those same punk kids caught stealing would be a future catalyst to Rob's later triumph. Life lessons. This is GOoD watchin'.

  • No one would ever mistake Suspect Device for the latest Green Day song. It's the BEEEEETA band not the BAYta band and how come Dry The Rain started right near the end?

  • @Doki66 dramatic licence?

  • Comment removed

  • The Clash. Stiff Little Fingers. Old Green Day. Echo and the Bunnymen. Jesus and the Mary Chain. The Beta Band.

    Fucking perfect.

  • Everybody should have a copy of Psychocandy!

  • what a film!

  • The first guy nodding his head to the Beta Band is Ian of Storm & Stress.

I remember the lights coming up after this movie and all my friends turning to me and saying, "wow, so how's it feel to have someone make a movie of your life?"

  • The Beta Band... B & S... The Jesus and Mary Chain... 3 Scottish bands in one film.

  • Shit... this got me into the Beta Band. So well done, Rob.

  • I didn't know I was like this until I watched this movie.

Not a bad thing to be though

  • love it

  • Wow..I just noticed that Liz Phair Whitechoclatespaceegg lp behind Jack Blacks elbow at :13. I have that on vinyl too :)

  • The guy with a Charlie Brow t-shirt is hilarious...

  • The real question here (other than what self respecting person hasn't heard Psychocandy and Blonde on Blonde) is who the fuck starts a record midway through a song?

  • @AquariusIscariot u cn do that with records have u ever used a turn table, but ya with a cd whod ya do that

  • @AquariusIscariot Someone who wants to sell five copies by playing the best part.

  • Jack Black selling Bob Dylan to a customer is awesome!!!

  • Ella es Leslie Winkle de la serie "The big bang Theory"

  • @manueldoors I'm a big fan of Big Bang Theory!

She also plays "Darlene" in Roseanne - but that's going back a while.

  • was that guy wearing a charlie brown shirt?? xD

  • "I Can't believe you don't own this F*^kin' record. That's Insane...JEEEEESSSUS!!!"

"That is peverse. Don' tell anybody you don't own F&kin' Blonde On Blonde!"

Are any two lines more classic!!! LOL

  • I nearly became obsessed with the song Dry the Rain by the Beta band after hearing it in this scene

  • If I were to make a Top 5 All Time Movie Scenes, this would probably be in it.

  • true :)

  • Right Hanley! Underratted that's the word! I'm gonna have to stop getting smashed and making comments cheers for the correction

  • I always thought the guy in the white shirt at the beginning of this scene played a great part. So underestimatted

  • Underrated maybe?

  • yes but...couldn't it just be a dialect thing?

  • Hahah, Ian Williams is brilliant, always make me laugh.

  • This scene (Rob putting on "the Beta Band") perfectly captures the pride and confidence that the DJ/music geek types feel when they put something on that they know people will groove to.

"It's good..." "I know." I have probably used that response a hundred times since seeing this movie. One the best inventions of the screenplay--not in the terrific novel.

  • Princess Leia: I love you!

    Han solo: I know!

  • @castaway50 I could not agree with you more my brother thats why i became a dj on the online radio station at my school except I cant see the people grooving so its kind of bitter sweet lol

  • @castaway50 The pride and confidenc thar EVERYBODY feels when they do that. ;)

  • @castaway50 So true, so true. :D

  • John Cusack is perfect for his part. :)

  • @vtlullaby john cusack is perfect.

  • @vtlullaby I am ok with... "John Cusack is perfect" xD

  • @vtlullaby maaan I loved no I worshiped john cusack in this movie

  • I just love how confident he is that people will lap the track up. I always feel that if I play my favourite tracks to mates, they'll be like, 'mate, that's fucking class'. It never happens.

  • @EVfnWls...Like when you play a song from an album that you know is freakin' awesome for your friends, and they want to yak all the way through it. You feel like bitch-slapping them. You've exposed them to something amazing, and they're too stupid to get it.

  • Did they catch those thiefs?

  • BARRY THE DOOR!!!! What a great tune too :)

  • thank you high fidelity for getting me into the beta band and the 13th floor elevators :)

  • I know!!! I bought both those albums after watching this movie. I also got turned on to Blonde on Blonde too.

  • lol, dont tell anyone you dont own fucking blonde on blonde!

  • me as well

  • i fucking love THE CLASH tooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Stiff little fingers.

  • I like Naked Raygun's cover of Suspect Device...

The guy at 2:09 looks familiar...Looks like the Guitarist from TAR who was another great local Chicago band for those who don't know.

This movie is definately in my top 5 of all time greats.

Dick is working that ass with Anna Moss...

    lookey lookey...

  • why is it so short :( and why cant i find this version anywhere? :(

  • Eh, it's on The Three EPs by the Beta Band...!

It's the end of Dry The Rain.

  • The Beta Band was awesome. Enough said.

  • charlie brown shirt

  • that`s Battles`Ian Williams at 1:54.

  • my favourite scene of this film. eee look at dick and cute anaugh.

"don't tell anybody you don't own blond on blond"

plus, that beta band song is lovely.

  • Got to buy this movie, saw it when i was younger but could hardly appreciate it then. Psychocandy, The Beta Band and Echo all mentioned in one scene? Fucking awesome!

  • this scene made me buy that album!

  • I was in a store that used the same ploy with Rush's Permanent waves in 1980-my friend was one who got a copy-overPLAYED it!

  • por esta pelicula conoci a the beta band

    :)

    que gran pelicula!
