The Nintendo DS was released in 2004, and the first version of DeSmuME, a DS emulator was released in 2006. It took two years for the emulator to be created, and then it took a bit longer to create a flashcart for it. The 3DS is going to take a while to be modded, so, you, are clearly the "smart" one, by thinking this was real.
